Abstract

Mushrooms are natural resources with great potential in the food and agribusiness sectors. Their high nutritional content, low fat, and variety of types make mushrooms highly valuable as a food ingredient. Additionally, mushrooms can be produced at relatively low costs, making them an attractive commodity for development in the agricultural sector. One increasingly popular processed product is crispy mushrooms. The purpose of this research is to analyze the value-added of crispy mushrooms. The research location was purposively determined in Kampung Melayu, Bengkulu City, considering that there is mushroom cultivation and processing of crispy mushrooms in that area. The sample used in this study consisted of farmers from "Mushroom House" who were purposively selected because they engage in mushroom cultivation and sell processed mushroom products. The research findings indicate that the value-added ratio is 62.12%, calculated by subtracting the output value from the raw material price of Rp.82,000. This means that every 1 kilogram of oyster mushrooms creates added value of Rp.82,000 per kilogram after being processed into crispy mushrooms. The profit obtained from the processing of these oyster mushrooms is Rp.69,200 per kilogram, with a profit margin of 52.42% of the output value.

Abstract

The cassava processing industry in Pasar Pedati Village, Pondok Kelapa District, Central Bengkulu Regency, is part of the agro-industrial sector with significant potential but still faces several challenges. Despite the presence of several craftsmen producing cassava chips, most operate on a household scale and encounter limitations in marketing and product value-added. These constraints include limited access to cassava raw materials and increasingly tight market competition. Therefore, this study aims to analyze marketing in the household cassava chips processing industry in the village. The research method used a purposive approach with a population of 20 cassava chip craftsmen, all of whom were respondents using a census method. Descriptive analysis was employed to analyze marketing channels, while for marketing margins, the research results revealed that the average marketing margin received by respondents was Rp. 850, with a selling price of Rp. 5,000 per packet, enabling craftsmen to sell 2,509 packets per month. A significant marketing margin will also bring substantial profits to producers regarding the processed cassava chip products. With sufficiently large marketing margins generated by each craftsman, all respondents consider cassava chip processing as their primary household business.

Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country, meaning that agriculture plays an important role throughout the nation. This can be shown from the large number of residents or workers who live or work in the agricultural sector or agricultural products that come from agriculture (Pulungan, 2008). Most people in Indonesia depend on the agricultural sector for their livelihoods. Farming communities who work in the agricultural sector mostly live in rural areas. In general, Indonesian residents who live in rural areas have relatively low levels of income when compared to residents who live in urban areas. The difference in revenue is closely related to the productivity of Indonesian farmers which cannot be separated from various factors, including the area of land owned and government policies in terms of providing incentives to farmers and so on. Efforts that can be made to increase the productivity of cabbage plants are by increasing the prices received by farmers. The high and low prices of cabbage experienced by farmers make it necessary for us to know what price levels are obtained by traders, this is because there are price differences between producer farmers and traders. The price level at marketing institutions will influence the price level at producer farmers, by knowing the marketing margin obtained from the marketing of cabbage. With the above situation, farmers as producers, apart from increasing their production, also need a marketing institution that provides certainty of marketing their production at a reasonable price. Marketing channels involve marketing institutions which are intermediary institutions between producers and consumers. Based on these conditions, it is hoped that good cooperation will occur between intermediary institutions and producer farmers. From the description above, this research aims to analyze the production and marketing margins of cabbage farming in Air Duku Village, Selupu Rejang District, Rejang Lebong Regency.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of potassium fertilizer doses on the growth and yield of watermelon plants planted in ultisol soil, and determine short-term changes in weed composition. The experiment used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with five treatments of potassium (D) doses and three replications. The treatment doses are: Without fertilizer (control) equivalent to 0 kg/plot; A dose of 125 kg/ha is equivalent to 37.4 g/plot; A dose of 250 kg/ha is equivalent to 74.8 g/plot; A dose of 375 kg/ha is equivalent to 112.1 g/plot; A dose of 500 kg/ha is equivalent to 149.5 g/plot. The research data was analyzed using Sidik Ragam to find out whether the treatment had a real effect or an insignificant effect. If the results of the analysis have a real or very real effect, then continue with the Duncant's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level. This research concluded: (1) The dose of potassium fertilizer had no significant effect on plant length and fruit weight per plant but had a very significant effect on fruit weight per plot. Potassium fertilizer dose of 500 kg/ha provides the highest fruit weight per plot; (2) Potassium fertilizer doses tend to provide different weed populations and dry weights in watermelon plantings. The higher the dose of potassium fertilizer given tends to increase the weed population and weed dry weight; (3) The weed community coefficient index between mid and late weeds in watermelon planting is the same. However, the number of weed populations and biomass in the middle observation was higher than the final observation of watermelon planting.

Abstract

The diversity of Pestalotiopsis sp. hosts raises questions about whether Pestalotiopsis sp. originating from various hosts have the same characteristics as Pestalotiopsis sp. originating from rubber plants and their potential as pathogens in rubber plants. This study was conducted to identify the morphological characteristics of Pestalotiopsis sp. from various hosts and assess the potential for its pathogenic ability from various hosts in rubber plants. The study was conducted at the Sungei Putih Research Unit, Rubber Research Center, Galang District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. The study was conducted from February to June 2023. This study consisted of two main activities: characterization of Pestalotiopsis sp. isolates and laboratory testing of the pathogenicity of these isolates on rubber plants. The study used a non-factorial completely randomized design (CRD). The characteristics of the Pestalotiopsis sp. colony diameter continued to increase. Colonies with almost identical characteristics are white, have a smooth texture, resemble a flower pattern formed on their mycelium, and have conidiomata that are shaped like small black dots in the middle and are irregularly distributed. Microscopic identification of Pestalotiopsis sp. fungi. from various hosts showed similar characteristics, including having five cells, fusiform and oval conidia with four brown septa, and two hyaline centulae with basal pedicels. Pathogenicity testing of Pestalotiopsis sp. isolates from various hosts showed that the rubber plant host had the highest lesion diameter compared to other hosts.

Abstract

This literature study aims to review technological developments in the use of coal as fertilizer. The method used in this study is a systematic review. Article searches were carried out using Google Scholar with the keywords "Coal for Fertilizer" and "Pupuk Batu bara". At the end of the search, 14 articles were found consisting of 7 in Indonesian and 7 in English, then a narrative review was carried out. The conclusion of this study is that the use of coal as fertilizer was developed by utilizing low quality coal and coal waste: fly ash, bottom ash, humic acid and brown coal. The technology for using it as fertilizer is carried out by applying simple chemical and organic fertilizers together, or in the form of granular and slowrelease fertilizers.
