Abstract

This research aims to test vigor Echinochloa crus-galli weeds toward seven species of plants which are known have alelopati potential as herbicide vegetation to reduce vigor Echinochloa crus-galli weeds. This research was conducted in laboratorium Balai Proteksi Tanaman Perkebunan of Bengkulu Province, which started from January to March 2011. The method of this research was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with single factor that was alelopaty extract treatment which was done as follow: Control (with aquadestilata), Bermuda Grass (Cynodan dactylon), Corn (Zea mays), Sapphire (Pogosthemon cablin), Pinus (Pinus spp), Teki Grass (Cyperus rotundus), Saegegrass (Imperata cylindrica), Jarak Plant (Jatropha curcas). Each treatment was repeated five times. The result of the test showed that alelopaty treatment was significantly influenced the decreasing of vigor Echinochloa crusgalli weeds. Alelopati of Bermuda Grass (Cynodan dactylon), Corn (Zea mays), Sapphire (Pogosthemon cablin), Pinus (Pinus spp), Teki Grass (Cyperus rotundus), Saegegrass (Imperata cylindrica), Jarak Plant (Jatropha curcas) were able to reduce vigor Echinochloa crus-galli weeds.

Abstract

Dry season which often come is quicker, becoming one of the constrictor factor produce of upland rice. Existence of lacking of water cause crop experience of stres so that unable to grow and productive maximally. One of the effort to overcome degradation result of effect of lacking of water is assemble pre-eminent upland rice varietas tolerance to lacking of water. This research is conducted to evaluated the tolerance of genotipes result crossing of Bengkulu local varieties upland rice to dryness grasp. Research conducted year dry season 2015, using split plot design. Result of research indicate that Genotipa result of crossing of local upland rice of Bengkulu have difference of its resilience to dryness grasp. Lenient Genotipa of dryness at attempt of green house is 31,25 %, that is UNHZ 1, UNHZ 6, UNHZ 14, UNHZ 15A, UNHZ 16, UNHZ 23, UNHZ 24, UNHZ 26, UNHZ 27 And UNHZ 31. Lenient Geotipa to dryness grasp at attempt of field is 19,23 %, that is UNHZ 14A, UNHZ 14B, UNHZ 21, UNHZ 22, UNHZ 23, UHZ 24, UNHZ 26, UNHZ 27, UNHZ 31, UHNZ 32, UNHZ 56, UNHZ 58, UNHZ 61, UNHZ 62, UNHZ 66, UNHZ 67, UNHZ 91, UNHZ 93, UNHZ 96 and UNHZ 97. Genotipa showing symptom hold up goodness at research of green house and also research of field is UNHZ1, UNHZ 14A, UNHZ 15 A , UNHZ 23, UNHZ 24, UNHZ 26, UNHZ 27 and UNHZ 31. Abstract

In our country, marginal land occupy for about 50 million hectares or almost one forth of total land. In Sumatra, nearly all marginal land is dominated by podzolik soil which about 10 million hectares. The main problems of this soil are including low pH, high Al content, low cation exchange capacity, and poor of nutrient and organic matter level, therefore the growth and yield of plants can not be optimal. Traditionally, farmers use lime to solve this problem, but this method only influences the chemical aspect but not the biological one. The solution we offer in research is by applying biochar. It is high in carbon, porous and could improve soil fertility. This research aimed to know and evaluate the impact of biochar application on growth and yield of corn. The result showed that biochar gave positive impact on growth and yield of corn. By using biochar the corn height reached 155,67 cm while applying lime could only grew till 56 cm and 20 cm by using no ameliorant or control. Furthermore, the corn seed weight was thrice by biochar than by lime that were 194,5 g compared to 42 g per plant. Meanwhile, the corn plants were failed to produce yield in treatment of chemical fertiliser and control.

Abstract

Masalah utama dalam budidaya ikan Lele Sangkuriang (Clarias gariepinus) adalah harga pakan  yang tinggi dan pakan merupakan komponen terbesar (50% - 70%) dari biaya produksi, oleh karena itu, pakan yang diberikan kepada ikan  Lele Sangkuriang (Clarias gariepinus) harus diusahakan murah, mudah didapat dan  seefisien mungkin dalam penggunaannya, sehingga perlu dilakukan mencari pakan alternative. Tujuan penelitian untuk  mengetahui pengaruh  dosis Azolla  terhadap pertumbuhan ikan Lele Sangkuriang (Clarias gariepinus). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan satu faktor yang terdiri dari empat ulanga dengan tiga taraf yaitu: A= Azolla 5%, B= Pellet 5%  dan C= Azolla 2,5% + Pellet 2,5%. Data yang diperoleh diuji dengan  analisis keragaman pada taraf 5%, dengan uji lanjut Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) pada taraf 5%. Perlakuan pemberian dosis azolla yang berbeda berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap pertumbuhan berat mutlak, panjang mutlak, konversi pakan dan efisienai pakan tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidup ikan Lele Sangkuriang (Clarias gariepinus). Dosis Azolla yang baik untuk pertumbuhan ikan Lele Sangkuriang (Clarias gariepinus) adalah  Azolla 2,5% + Pellet 2,5%) dan mempunyai kelangsungan hidup antara  97,91% - 98,75%

Abstract

The purposes of this research are (1) to know the influence of genotype and biological fertilizer to the soil biological properties, and (2) to know the influence of genotype and biological fertilizer to the soybean plants productivity at its ultisols. This experiment was conducted at experimental garden of Bengkulu University. It was arranged in factorial split plot design and consisted of two factor. The first factor was soybean cultivars i.e. Pangrango, Ceneng, and DS1 (Malabar and Kipas Putih variety breeding). The second factor was double inoculation of Rhizobium and VAM i.e. Glomus manihotis + Rhizobium of KLR 5.3 strain, Glomus manihotis + Rhizobium of TER 2.2 strain, Gigaspora margarita + Rhizobium of KLR 5.3 strain, Gigaspora margarita + Rhizobium of TER 2.2 strain, fertilizer NPK at recommended dosage without inoculants respectively. The collected data was analyzed statistically and tested by F test at level of 5% and continued with Duncan Multiple Range test for differences among the treatments. The result of the research showed that (1) the soil that had been planted genotype DS1 soybean has the highest level of C-Organic (2,69%) compare with pangrango or ceneng and biological fertilizer produces higher level of respiration than its control. (2) ceneng’s genotype produce the effective amount of nodules, plant dry weight (3,90 g), and seed weight (5,66 g) is higher than if we compare with pangrango and DSI.Keywords : soybean, biofertilizer technology , Ultisols

Abstract

One of important aspects in organic agriculture is availability of fertiliser that could be madefrom resources around the farm. Waste of oyster mushroom is a great potential to be developed in to organic fertiliser to be applied in organic sweet corn. To discover this challenge, an experiment had been done in Seginim, South Bengkulu. Nine dosage levels were tested and the results showed that the growth and yield of sweet corn were gained by using 4 tons of oyster mushroom organic fertiliser plus combined with 50 kg of NPK chemical fertiliser per hektar. We concluded that waste of oyster mushroom could be used as organic fertiliser and might be used for organic sweet corn.Keywords: sweet corn, oyster mushroom, waste, organic fertiliser

Abstract

The availability of foodstuffs of rice is a matter of basic needs that must be fulfilled and guaranteed its existence. Farmer groups are the main means to maintain the availability of rice food in an area other than import. This study aims to determine the role of farmer groups in maintaining the availability of rice and to know the condition of rice stock availability in Margo Mulyo Village, Central Bengkulu. Methods of data collection in this study using interviews, observation, and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed using Likert scale and the ratio between rice requirement and rice production per year. Result of research The role of farmer group in Margo Mulyo village is high or play with score 293 or 73,25%. From 5 indicators of roles studied the highest role is in the role of farmer groups as a means of cooperation between farmers with a value of 80 or 27.30% and the lowest is in the role of farmers group as a production unit with a value of 33 or 11.26%. The condition of rice stock availability in Pondok Kelapa sub-district is at the level of having food reserves for the foreseeable future with total requirement of rice for consumption in one year 338,400 kg, total production in one year is 684.000 kg. The rice stock in Kecamatan Pondok Kelapa is 345,600 kg.

Abstract

This research aims to select the best of seven part of plants known to have potential allelopaty effect and to know their influences on germination of weed Echinochloa crus- gally. The research had been conducted in laboratory of Departement of Plantation, Bengkulu Province from February to March 2011. Seven plant species that potentially contain allelopaty are M0= Control; M1= Fermented coconut water; M2= Pithecellobium jiringa; M3= Eucalyptus; M4= Acasia mangium, M5= Imperata cylindrica, M6= Swietenia macrophylla M7= Jatropha curcas. The part of plants were taken for their extract are Imperata cylindrica rizome,. Eucalyptus, Acasia mangium and Jatropha curcas lives. Swietenia macrophylla extract made from its seed. Pithecellobium jiringa taken from outer skin skin of its fruit. Coconut’s water taken from the old coconut fruit. The design used was Completely Randomized Design with five replication. This study concluded that: (1) The treatment plant extracts tested had very significant effect on the germination of weed Echinochloa crus-gally; (2) extract treatment plant parts were tested suppressed weed germination Echinochloa crus-gally; (3) Allelopaty sources of different sources are fermented coconut water, Pithecellobium jiringa, Eucalyptus, Imperata cylindrica, Acacia mangium, Swietenia macrophylla, and Jatropha curcas had no significant effect on the inhibition of germination of weed E. crus-gally.

Abstract

The experiment was aimed to know the effect of BAP Plant Regulator to the formation and the development of Potato’s Micro Tuber. The treatment were 0; 2,5; 5; 7,5 mg/L BAP. The growing media was Murashige and Skoog (MS0). The result showed that BAP did not significantly affected the number, diameter, wet and dry weight of the tuber. However, the highest of number, diameter, wet and dry weight was found at the 7,5 mg/L BAP. The fastest formation of tuber was yielded in 5 mg/L BAP.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of price on buying interest, trends and percentage percentage of differences in buying interest of people to sweet corn and corn in Rejang Lebong regency. By using Chi Square Analysis method (X2) One Sample has been found Chi squared count value = 72.028 with trust level of 0.05 or 5% then Chi Square count bigger than at Chi Square mean = 3,481 hence this mean result of research show that society in Rejang Lebong regency keeps buying sweet corn even though its price is more expensive. While the tendency of interest of corn consumer community by using Run Test analysis. Price Z arithmetic 2,199 then the price of z in table XIV = 0.0122 this price is smaller than the α price set at 5% or 0.05 (0.0122 <0.05) which means people's buying interest is not the same between sweet corn and maize (the order is not random). With the percentage of sweet corn of 64.92%, while the percentage of maize common by 35.08% can be interpreted that the enthusiast of sweet corn is greater or higher when compared with ordinary corn.
