Abstract

This paper discusses the relationship of active productive language competence. Language-productive activity is the activity of conveying ideas, messages, or information by the speaker. Productive competence test is aimed to ask learners in language work, to do something through language. In this productive competency test, the learners do not just choose, create, and construct a language, but also choose, create, and construct what will be uttered through the language. This writing is prepared with the aim to be used as a reference and theoretical basis to formulate and to judge on productive language competence test.

Abstract

In reality, especially in the subjects of Indonesian, learning activities are still carried out in the classical style. Learning is more emphasis on models that are colored by lecturing and teacher-centre. As a result, students are being less involved in in learning activity. Leaning a language rests on the development of students' ability to use language as a means of delivering a message / meaning for many language purposes . The aims of learning a language are the ability in mastering listening, speaking, reading and writing. Those skills must be achieved meaningfuly by students. Learning Indonesian language and literature is directed to improve students' ability to communicate, both orally and writen. Storytelling in pair, type of cooperative learning in pair, combines reading, writing, listening and speaking. Therefore the type of cooperative learning in storytelling in pair is suitable for learning Indonesian.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to describe the references, substitutions, ellipsis, and conjunctions as the instruments of grammatical cohesion between sentences that is used in description text at the students of eighth class of SMP Negeri 17 Pesawaran. This research used qualitative descriptive method. The data was analyzed by used content analysis technique. The data in this research is description text at the students of eighth class of SMP Negeri 17 Pesawaran. To collect the data the writer giving the task to the students of eighth class of SMP Negeri 17 Pesawaran. The data’s sources in this research are the instruments of grammatical cohesion between sentences which are contained in description text at the students of eighth class of SMP Negeri 17 Pesawaran. The result of analysis has found using of the instruments grammatical cohesion in descriptive text at the students of eight class of SMP Negeri 17 Pesawaran that are: (a) 11 types of references a number of 102 usages; (b) 5 types of substitution a number of 33 usages; (c) 3 types ellipsis a number of 15 usages; and (d) 12 types of conjunctions a number of 75 usages.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate whether or not peer correction had an effect in improving grammatical accuracy in students’ writing. The method used in this research was pre-experimental design, especially in the form of one-group pretest-posttest design. The subject of this research was the second semester students of English Education Study Program of STKIP PGRI Bandar Lampung in the academic year 2013/2014. The instument used in this research was a writing test. The students were taught by using peer corection technique. The pre-test was given before the treatments to see the starting score. After giving the treatment, post test was given. The results of the research were analyzed by using t-test for dependent samples. From the result of t calculation, t count was higher than t table (13.85 > 2.04). Thus, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypohesis (H0) was rejected. It also can be seen that the mean score in the post-test was higher than the mean score in the pre-test. In other words, there was a significant difference between the mean score in the pre-test and the mean score in the post-test. Therefore, it was concluded that there was a significant positive effect of applying peer correction technique to grammatical accuracy in students’ writing.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui pengaruh prestasi belajar matematika setelah dilakukan penggunaan strategi Information Search (IS)dan Learning start with a Question (LSQ). (2) mengetahui keaktifan peserta didik terhadap penggunaan strategi Information Search (IS) dan Learning start with a Question (LSQ). Sehubungan untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian tersebut, peneliti menggunakan metode eksperimen. Populasinya adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII semester genap SMP Negeri 26 Bandar Lampung, yang berjumlah 1138 siswa yang tersebar dalam 27 kelas. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dengan prosedur undian, karena mengingat bahwa masing-masing kelas relatif mempunyai kemampuan rata-rata yang sama atau dengan kondisi homogen. Prosedur undian yang dimaksud yaitu mengundi dari kelas yang terdapat pada kelas VII dan yang pertama keluar dijadikan sebagai kelas eksperimen yaitu kelas VII. F dengan 28 siswa dan yangkedua keluar dijadikan kelas kontrol yaitu kelas VII. E dengan 25 siswa.Teknik untuk menganalisis data digunakan uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas varians, dilanjutkan dengan pengujian hipotesis. Dari hasil pengujian hipotesis menggunakan rumus statistik t-tes, diperoleh nilai thit = 6,62 dan dari total distribusi t pada taraf signifikan 5% diketahui t (11/ 2 ) (51) = 2,01.

Abstract

This experimental research is conducted at SMP Kristen Kalam Kudus Surakarta, from December 2011 to June 2012. The sample of the research is two classes; one class is treated as experimental class taught by using visual auditory kinestetic and one classis treated as control class taught by using direct instruction. Each of them consisted of 28 students. The data are in the form of quantitative data that are taken from reading test. The data of reading test are used to know the students’ reading ability. The data of reading test are the scores of students’ reading test that was administered after having eight times treatments for each class. The researcher analyzes the data using t-test formula (SPSS for windows 17.0). Based on the result of data analysis, the research finding states that visual auditory kinesteticis more effective than direct instruction to teach reading for Junior High School students. Based on these research findings, it can be concluded that visual auditory kinesteticis an effective method to improve students’ reading ability. Ideally, visual auditory kinestetic has to be implemented in the class in order to achieve optimal result. By applying this method, the teachers have some roles. They are guiding, motivating,monitoring and help the students when they are doing some activities about reading. It can help the Junior High School students to become more independent, strategic and motivated readers.

Abstract

Social studies designed to develop knowledge, understanding, and analytical skills of the social conditions in entering a dynamic social life. Social Science subjects are arranged in a systematic, comprehensive, and integrated in the learning process towards maturity and success in life in society. With this approach is expected to learners will gain a broader understanding and depth in the related fields of science.The purpose of this study increases student motivation in learning for learning can be understood heroism evenly. Improve the teaching and learning process in Subjects IPS. Increase students' understanding of the methods of reinforcement learning with verbal and non-verbal.The method used is a Classroom Action Research by using two cycles. While the research subject is class I. Data was collected with the scale of observation / observation and data analysis techniques performed by cycle analysis.Very significant changes between the results of the research cycle II, where the second cycle are the results of the evaluation can be considered good. Thus the study can already be said to be successful in the second cycle and no further cycle stages for the second cycle can already be categorized either by 91.67% on the evaluation of students with good results category and 8.33% of students with moderate category evaluation results. Thereby increasing student achievement be fine, although the classification was having similarities with the sense not decreased, but the author can give the conclusion that the achievement of students with good kategoro greatly increased with excellent classification. This study therefore has to be said berhasik the second cycle with the acquisition of 91.67% on average there is a category of students with good study results.

Abstract

Novel “Salah Pilih” karya Nur Sutan Iskandar mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai budaya meliputi wujud kebudayaan sebagai suatu kompleks dari ide-ide, gagasan, nilai-nilai, norma-norma, peraturan, dan wujud kebudayaan sebagai suatu kompleks aktivitas kelakuan berpola dari manusia dalam masyarakat serta wujud kebudayaan sebagai benda-benda hasil karya manusia.Penulis menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu suatu metode yang bertujuan untuk memecahkan masalah sekarang, mengklasifikasikan hasil penelitian serta mendeskripsikan data penelitian secara objektif pada novel “Salah Pilih” karya Nur Sutan Iskandar.Berdasarkan kajian teori dan hasil analisis yang dilakukan terhadap novel “Salah Pilih” Karya Nur Sutan Iskandar dapat ditarik kesimpulan antara lain : (1) nilai budaya dengan wujud kebudayaan sebagai suatu kompleks dari ide-ide, gagasan, nilai-nilai, norma-norma, peraturan dijelaskan dalam novel ini bahwa dalam adat Suku Minangkabau ketika perempuan dan laki-laki sesuku maka tidak diizinkan untuk menikah dengan keadaan apapun. (2) Nilai budaya dengan wujud kebudayaan sebagai suatu kompleks aktivitas kelakuan berpola dari manusia dalam masyarakat pada novel dijelaskan bahwa dalam adat budaya Minangkabau jika seorang laki-laki hendak naik ke rumah saudaranya atau kemenakannya yang perempuan, sebelum naik tangga ia harus batuk-batuk dahulu. Atau ia berdiri di halaman sebentar, sambil berkata kuat-kuat, sekadar terdengar ke atas rumah. (3) Nilai budaya dengan wujud kebudayaan sebagai benda-benda hasil karya manusia pada novel ini pada adat Minangkabau terdapat beberapa budaya berupa benda seperti bakul sirih. Bakul sirih adalah benda yang terbuat dari anyaman bamboo yang digunakan untuk tempat sirih berbentuk seperti kotak.

Abstract

This study is a research and development which aimed to 1) the assessment of experts toward student worksheet activity mathematic on enriching of statistic based on higher order thinking skill; 2) the students' response toward student activity sheet mathematic on enriching of statistic based on higher order thinking skill. This research and development use through Thiagarajan, Semmel, dan Semmel (1974: 5-9) research and development method of modifications 4-D. Data collection techniques used four stage Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate. This study, the product test used setting Lesson Study divide into three stage plan, do, see. The average score of expert assessment was 3,80 in valid criteria. The average score of student response was 4,32 in very good response, so it could be concluded that student activity sheet mathematic on enriching of statistic based on higher order thinking skill in the fourth grade of elementary school was able to take step and improve higher order thinking skill of students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kendala-kendala yang dialami oleh guru dalam pelaksanaan penilaian portofolio pada kurikulum 2013 di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini berjenis kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah guru kelas IV di tiga SD yaitu SD Negeri Karangsalam, SD Negeri 1 Beji, dan SD Negeri Karangnangka. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif yang terdiri dari reduksi data, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Uji keabsahan data yang digunakan yaitu dengan tirangulasi teknik yang membandingkan hasil observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) waktu penilaian atau proses portofolio yang cukup panjang; 2) banyaknya aspek yang harus dinilai; 3) keaktifan siswa yang masih rendah; 4) masih adanya siswa yang masa bodoh dengan pembelajaran yang diberikan oleh guru.
