Abstract

This research aimed to improve students’ reading comprehension by using Herringbone Technique. The subject of this research was the 10th IPS 1 of SMA YP Unila Bandar Lampung. It consisted of 34 students. This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was consisted of 2 cycles. In collecting the data, the writer used test and non-test. The tests used in this research were formative and summative test. Meanwhile in non-test, the writer used observation sheet and field note. In analyzing the data, the writer used quantitative and qualitative method. Refers to the result of the test, it showed that there were 23 students who got score ≥70 with the percentage 64.67% in the first cycle. Meanwhile, there were 28 students who got score ≥70 with the percentage 82.35% in the second cycle. In the other hand, the mean score of the students’ learning activity in the first cycle was 6.84 and in the second cycle was 7.51. It showed that there was an increase in the students’ learning activity. Based on the result of the research, the Herringbone Technique can improve students’ reading comprehension in the tenth grade of SMA YP Unila.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is the discovery approach to improve student activity and learning outcomes in science learning on the material of excretory organs in humans and their functions for class VIII-5 students of SMP Negeri 1 Bandar Lampung. The method used in this research is Action Research which consists of 2 (two) cycles, and each cycle consists of: Planning, Implementation, Observation, and Reflection. Based on the results of action research that the application of the discovery approach to increase student activity and learning outcomes in science learning on the material of excretory organs in humans and their functions in class VIII-5 SMP Negeri 1 Bandar Lampung. Furthermore, the researcher recommends: (1) For teachers who have the same difficulty the discovery approach to increase student activity and learning outcomes in science learning on the material of excretory organs in humans and their functions; (2) In order to get maximum results, it is hoped that teachers will make PBP more interesting and varied.

Abstract

Science education emphasizes providing direct experience to develop competence so that students are able to explore and understand the natural surroundings scientifically. Teaching that only uses the lecture method will make it difficult for students to understand concepts in science lessons, so students are less enthusiastic in learning activities and are passive. Students only memorize so they do not understand the concept. This is due to the assumption that knowledge can be transferred from one person's mind to another's mind, so that teachers who are active in learning to transfer their knowledge such as machines, they listen, take notes, and do the tasks given by the teacher, so that learning is teacher-centered and understanding. The results achieved by students are instrumental. The purpose of this study is to approach group work to improve student activity and learning outcomes in science learning on the material of excretory organs in humans and their functions for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 9 Bandar Lampung. The method used in this study is Action Research which consists of 2 (two) cycles, and each cycle consists of: Planning, Implementation, Observation, and Reflection. in learning science on the material of excretory organs in humans and their functions for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 9 Bandar Lampung. Abstract

A conscious effort education that is deliberately designed to achieve the stated goals. The results of PPKN learning in class VIII.6 SMP Negeri 43 Palembang are still low. The results of the first PPKN daily test only reached an average of 64.38 and only 46.88% of students achieved a score of 70 or >70. Whereas ideally, at least 85% of students should get 70 or >70. The low PPKN test results are caused by the teacher still not maximal in teaching the material to students. The teacher does not update the old learning model or still uses learning that is still focused on teachers who are actively lecturing. Teachers have not mastered the way that is not right on how to motivate students so that learning outcomes can be further improved. Therefore, the learning outcomes of grade VIII.6 students of SMP Negeri 43 Palembang are still low and need improvement by using an attractive learning model for students. The formulation of the problem in this study is: "Can the Learning Together learning model improve PPKN learning outcomes in class VIII.6 students of SMP Negeri 43 Palembang?". The subjects in this study were students of Class VIII.6 SMP Negeri 43 Palembang, totaling 32 students. This research will be carried out in class VIII.6 from September to November 2019. This class action research has been said to be complete with the evidence of improving Civics learning outcomes using the Learning Together learning model. Mastery learning increased from pre-cycle, cycle I to cycle II, which were 46.88%, 65.63% and 87.50%, respectively. In cycle II, students' learning mastery classically had been achieved and experienced a very good increase.

Abstract

This study aims to find out whether the use of Letter Card props can improve the fluency of reading and the activeness of SMPN class VII semester 2 students. The method in this study is classroom action research with a collaborative form involving researchers, peers (teachers) and principals. This research was carried out in class VII, semester 2 of SMP Negeri 22 Pesawaran, Gedongtataan District, Pesawaran Regency, for the 2020/2021 academic year with a total of 30 students. The focus of this study is the results of learning English and the effectiveness of the use of letter card props to improve reading fluency. This Classroom Action Research uses two cycles. Each cycle consists of three meetings, each meeting consists of four steps, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the fluency of reading students in cycle I and cycle II with SK / KD equal in the good category. Student activity also showed improvement in cycle I and cycle II in the very active category. By looking at the results of the study, it can be concluded that this research is able to answer the purpose of the study, namely the use of letter card displays can improve the fluency of reading and the activeness of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 22 Pesawaran, Gedongtataan District, Pesawaran Regency, for the 2020/2021 academic year. Finally, researchers suggest to all teachers to be creative in presenting learning, especially in using interesting and varied teaching aids and media so that they can bring students in a fun learning process and the complete limit of student learning outcomes can be achieved.

Abstract

One of the most used E-Learning platforms is Google Classroom. Google develops Google Classroom for academic purposes that support an online learning platform. This research was conducted to investigate students’ perception of using google classroom for EFL learning in STKIP PGRI Bandar Lampung during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study used a questionnaire as a research instrument to collect the data. The researcher conducted the reliability and validity test before using this questionnaire. The students answered the questionnaire through the online method. The questionnaire was responded to by 30 undergraduate students in STKIP PGRI Bandar Lampung who learned English courses using Google Classroom during the covid-19 pandemic. The questionnaire was analyzed used by the researchers using SPSS version 25. This study showed that Google Classroom could be used in e-learning, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Google Classroom is suitable for conducting learning activities, especially for teaching EFL learners. Google Classroom can improve students’ communication and enrich learning activities' content and material. Google Classroom can fit with the necessity of EFL students in STKIP PGRI Bandar Lampung. Therefore, the students feel that Google Classroom can make their job easier as students, improve the student's self-learning, and enhance the communication between the students and the teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the use of the Letter Card teaching based Youtube video aids can improve the reading fluency and activity of sixth grade elementary school students in semester 2. The method in this study is a collaborative classroom action research involving researchers, peers (teachers) and school principals. This research was carried out in class VI, semester 2 of SDN 1 Rawa Laut, Enggal District, Bandar Lampung City for the 2020/2021 academic year with a total of 30 students. The focus of this research is the results of learning Indonesian and the effectiveness of using letter card props to improve reading fluency. This Classroom Action Research uses two cycles. Each cycle consists of three meetings, each meeting consists of four steps, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the students' reading fluency in cycle I and cycle II with the same SK / KD in the good category. Student activity also showed an increase in cycle I and cycle II in the very active category. By looking at the results of the study, it can be concluded that this research is able to answer the research objectives, namely the use of letter card display can improve reading fluency and activity of class VI students of SD Negeri 1 Rawa Laut, Enggal District, Bandar Lampung City for the 2020/2021 school year.

Abstract

Studi ini mempunyai tujuan untuk menginvestigasi langka-langkah strategis dalam mengoptimalkan budaya digital, pendidikan unggul, berkarakter dan menggali potensi kearifan lokal. Implementasi metode kualitatif yang meliputi studi literatur, dokumen maupun wawancara secara mendalam. Informan yang memberika pendapat sebanyak 15 orang dengan latar belakang dari praktisi, akademisi/pemerhati, unsur pemerintah, komunitas dan media atau disebut pentahelix model telah memberikan keterangan secara akurat. Setelah dilakukan pengolahan dan analisa, didapatkan hasil bahwa literasi digital mengubah perilaku hidup masyarakat di berbagai sektor. Budaya digital tercermin dari berbagai komponen, yaitu agility, innovation, creativity, anticipatory, experimental, open mindset dan networking. Situasi yang semula konvensional harus berganti ke arah digital. Generasi milenial akan beradaptasi dengan identitas, proses pembelajaran, menghendaki kebebasan dan memiliki ruang privasi sendiri. Pendidikan unggul dan terbentuknya karakter yang baik hanya diwujudkan apabila ada kolaborasi antara pihak terkait termasuk keluarga, sekolah dan lingkungan. Nilai-nilai unggulan tiap wilayah akan menciptakan kearifan lokal jika digali secara optimal. Keseluruhan target akan tercapai jika ada sinergi yang kuat dari unsur praktisi, akademisi, pemerintah, komunitas dan media.

Abstract

All universities in Indonesia are given the option to study at home with an online learning system, including UIN Raden Intan Lampung. Students' voices is a perspective from student towards something to know the success of it. This study aims to know students' voices on Online Learning during COVID-19 in some positive or negative ways. The research method used in this research is quantitative, with an online survey and purposive sampling. According to the results, 66 per cent of the total statements show that students positively perceive online learning acceptance. Students feel safer and more at ease, and they spend less money. However, some study aspects are lacking, such as unease in following the study, being active in class, and being enthusiastic about the study. Despite this, most students maintained positive relationships with other students, ate and slept well, and remained healthy throughout the pandemic. This recent study recommended that future research data sources be expanded to ensure more reliable research results.

Abstract

Writing as a productive skill in an EFL classroom is very important. In the writing class there needs to be an efficient relationship between teachers and students. In the early part of the 21st Century the various technologies available for use in the classroom have become extremely diverse and the way they are used in classrooms around the world may affect the outcomes we expect from our classrooms. This paper aims to examine the effectiveness of Edmodo in teaching writing to EFL students. Thus this review reports five relevant studies which] clearly indicated that Edmodo is an effective medium for teaching writing to EFL learners. The purpose of this review is to report: 1). Students' perceptions about the use of Edmodo in teaching writing for EFL students. 2). Edmodo benefits in teaching writing for EFL students. 3). Edmodo's shortcomings in teaching writing for EFL students. According to the findings, learning to use Edmodo on EFL students is very effective for improving writing skills in EFL students.
