Abstract

This research aims to describe the role of SAMPAN Kalimantan as an NGO that contributes to the preservation of mangrove ecosystems as an effort to adapt to climate change. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research methodology with data processing using source triangulation. In addition, researchers used the theory of the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to analyze the role of SAMPAN Kalimantan in mangrove conservation. The results of this research are that SAMPAN Kalimantan, which runs the program in Kubu Raya, has begun to fulfill its role as an NGO, namely as Executor/Implementer, Catalyst and Partner. As the Executor, it is known that there are several activities carried out by the community that can benefit the general public and provide employment opportunities and benefits for the local community by utilizing existing natural resources, one of which is the potential for fish, shrimp and crabs. As a catalyst, SAMPAN Kalimantan has encouraged areas that have not received permits to become social forestry since 2013.

Abstract

To create effective communication, individuals must adhere to the four conversational maxims or principles of cooperation. However, in the world of movies, language use tends to be more varied, and sometimes not subject to the norms of language politeness and the context of language use. As a result, the information conveyed can be unclear and ambiguous, which in turn leads to violations of the conversational maxims. The purpose of this study is to analyze the types of flouting maxims found in The Kissing Booth 2 Movie and to identify the reasons behind the flouting maxim since it is very important to make communication as effective as possible. In this study, the researcher used a theory proposed by Grice in Levinson in analyzing the types of flouting maxims and the theory proposed by Leech in analyzing the reason behind the flouting maxim that occurs in the movie. This study used a descriptive qualitative method to provide a deeper understanding of the flouting maxim and the reasons for flouting. The data were collected from the conversations that occurred among the characters in The Kissing Booth 2 Movie. The results found that there were violations of the maxims of quantity, quality, relevance, and manner committed by the characters. Relevance violations are less frequent (8.3%) and typically occur when characters fail to shift topics in response to specific questions. Intriguingly, maxim violations do not invariably yield negative outcomes, as characters collaborate to convey their intended meanings smoothly. This collaborative approach is particularly prevalent (65%), signifying that characters often flout maxims when illocutionary goals diverge from social goals. Ultimately, the study concludes that the flouting maxim of quantity prevails, and collaborative reasons dominate as the most common motivation behind maxim deviations.

Abstract

This research discusses consumerism behavior among Korean Pop (K-Pop) fans as an impact of the Hallyu Wave. This trend, rich in Korean culture, has become global and developed rapidly. The research method applied in this study is a Bibliometric Analysis review, using more than 50 scientific articles sourced from the Scopus database, which were then analyzed and visualized using Vosviewer, Nvivo, and Mendeley applications. The study results reveal that consumer behavior among K-pop fans is increasing and is driven by social media as a form of technological advancement. Advanced technology makes it easier and faster for things to spread, including the Hallyu Wave. This has made K-pop culture increasingly beloved worldwide. This phenomenon can influence people's lives globally, especially in a consumerist culture. This culture or phenomenon's entry also impacts K-pop fans positively and negatively. The article has a limitation in that the scientific data used is sourced only from the Scopus database, which means the findings of this study cannot be described comprehensively.

Abstract

The problem of employee performance at the Malinau Regency Education Office is a decline in performance in the last 3 years, allegedly related to ineffective communication and a work environment that is not fully conducive. This study aims to analyse the effect of communication and environment on employee performance. The theories used in this study, namely Communication variables (VX1), Work Environment Variables (VX2), and Y Performance Variables. This study uses a quantitative approach with a statistical test method using multiple regression hypotheses (T test and F test), with the Independent variables namely VX1 (Communication Effect), VX2 (Work Environment Effect), and Denpenden Variable Y (Performance). The instrument used is a questionnaire. The population totalled 66 employees with saturated sampling technique. The results of descriptive analysis, communication variables (X1) based on the classification are included in the good category (B), but the horizontal communication indicator 64.24 based on the classification is included in the less good category (KB) and is below the percent value of the average score of communication variables. As for the work environment variable (X2), the work environment is included in the less good category (KB). While the performance variable (Y) is included in the less good category (KB). There is a positive influence between communication on employee performance based on the calculation of Thitung 3.892 greater than Ttable 1.669 and the influence of the Work Environment on employee performance obtained Thitung value 6.054 greater than Ttable 1.669. Based on the f test research simultaneously shows the influence of communication and work environment on performance obtained Fcount value 53.524 greater than Ftable 3.145. The coefficient of determination shows that the independent variables (VX1 and VX2) are 61.8% and the remaining 38.2% is explained by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

The Jakarta City Government, along with the central government, has implemented various measures to address the issue of air pollution that has become a serious problem for the city. One of the efforts undertaken is to increase the provision of urban green spaces and restore the function of the GBK City Forest as a public green open space (GOS). However, there has been no research showing the public's perspective and satisfaction with the utilization of the GBK City Forest. This study aims to determine the level of public satisfaction with the GBK City Forest based on social-cultural functions. The assessment indicators used to measure public satisfaction in this study are based on the theory of cultural ecosystem services developed by Shijie Gai et al. The data used in this study were obtained using mixed methods data collection techniques through questionnaires (quantitative) as well as in-depth interviews and literature studies (qualitative). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the majority of the public is highly satisfied with the utilization of the social-cultural functions of the GBK City Forest. However, some people still complain about the lack of supporting facilities for recreational activities and the disturbances from external parties that make them feel uncomfortable when engaging in activities at the GBK City Forest. Therefore, it is important for the government and the GBK City Forest management to consider public feedback and improve the quality and safety of the existing facilities.
