Abstract

ABSTRACT:  The banking industry plays a strategic role in the capital market because it reflects the stability of the financial sector and is an important indicator of national economic conditions. This study aims to analyze the influence of geopolitical risk, institutional ownership, and company size on the financial performance of the banking industry in the 2020–2024 period. The research data uses annual panel data with a sample of 47 companies as the cross-section dimension and the 2020–2024 period as the time series dimension. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with the criteria of companies being listed and actively traded, having complete financial reports, and being considered fairly healthy with ROA ≥ 0.5%, resulting in a total of 28 observations. The research method uses a quantitative approach with panel data regression analysis. The results show that geopolitical risk, institutional ownership, and company size simultaneously influence the financial performance of the banking industry. Partially, company size has a positive and significant effect on company performance, while geopolitical risk and institutional ownership have a negative and insignificant effect on company performance in the banking industry.

Abstract

Abstract

This study seeks to examine human resource management (HRM) strategies for enhancing local own-source revenue (PAD) at the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Office (DPMPTSP) in Sorong Regency, West Papua Province. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation involving civil servants (ASN) within the DPMPTSP context. The results show that effective coaching, training, and optimal compensation from leadership are key factors in improving the competence, motivation, and performance of civil servants, which positively impacts PAD growth. However, constraints remain, such as lack of transparency in task allocation, suboptimal compensation, and leadership styles that are less participative and innovative. The main recommendations are to increase the frequency of training and benchmarking, refine the reward and compensation system, and strengthen leadership capacity to encourage concrete contributions from civil servants to PAD enhancement. The study also emphasizes the significance of innovation in human resource management and the application of information technology to enhance organizational effectiveness. The study's limitations encompass data subjectivity and a restricted respondent pool. The findings are expected to provide both theoretical and practical contributions for developing HRM strategies in the public sector, especially in the context of improving local government revenue.

Abstract

Zahraziza.mfo is a small Muslim fashion retailer in Surabaya that has experienced a decline in performance since 2023 despite its transition to digital sales channels. An internal business model analysis revealed misalignments between several Business Model Canvas elements namely customer segments, value proposition, channels, key activities, and key resources with post-pandemic changes in consumer behavior. This study aims to redesign Zahraziza.mfo’s business model to become more adaptive and sustainable through a Design Thinking approach. The research employs interviews, observations, and the five stages of Design Thinking, empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test to explore customer needs and validate proposed solutions. The results are embodied in a sustainable business model prototype that focuses transformation on key leverage points of the model, specifically the value proposition, customer relationships, and channels. The prototype generates four strategic solution clusters: strengthening digital experience and trust, developing a sustainable capsule collection, implementing gradual circular economy initiatives, and refining brand identity. These solutions are designed to realign the firm’s value creation logic with customer needs and meanings. The redesigned business model is considered more aligned with internal capabilities, market expectations, and sustainability principles, thereby providing a design framework that is aligned with Zahraziza.mfo’s long-term competitiveness and performance goals. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work discipline and work motivation on service performance, with work ethic as a moderating variable, among employees at the Department of Agriculture, Tambrauw Regency. A quantitative research methodology was employed to gather data from all 60 employees via questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that both work discipline and motivation have a significant positive effect on service performance, both partially and simultaneously. Moreover, work ethic is found to strengthen the relationship between work discipline and service performance but does not significantly moderate the relationship between work motivation and service performance. The findings highlight that work motivation is the dominant factor affecting service performance. These results suggest that improving service performance at the Department of Agriculture requires a balanced strategy that enhances both work motivation and discipline, supported by strong work ethics. The study recommends the implementation of motivational programs, enforcement of discipline policies, and cultivation of organizational values that foster integrity and responsibility among employees to achieve optimal service quality.
