Abstract

This study aims to design and develop learning media for writing scientific papers for vocational students. The theory used in this research is the theory of scientific writing learning, development of learning media, participatory learning, and collaborative learning. The method of this research is a development method with the implementation procedures based on 4D stages to develop learning tools consisting of four main stages, namely definition, design, development, and deployment. The design of learning media for writing scientific papers for vocational students is macromedia flash which includes three main contents, namely general aspects, media content, and aspects of learning media display. The results show that based on product trials, the development of learning media for writing scientific papers for SMK students has been proven to be effective in learning to make students able to write scientific papers

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of patriarchal power in the novel Genduk by Sundari Mardjuki. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The data in this study are the forms of patriarchal power in the Genduk novel, while the data sources in this study are primary data, namely the novel Genduk by Sundari Mardjuki and secondary data sources in the form of theoretical books and relevant research articles. The data collection technique used in this research is document analysis technique. Analysis of the data in this study using interactive analysis with feminism studies. The results of this study indicate that there are several forms of patriarchal power in the novel Genduk by Sundari Mardjuki in the form of subordination, stereotypes, marginalization of women, workload, physical violence against women.

Abstract

This study describes the form of grammatical and lexical cohesion markers between sentences contained in the fragment of the novel Strength of the Blue Dragon in the Class 7 Indonesian Language Textbook. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with data in the form of linguistic aspects, especially internal language studies, grammatical cohesion markers and lexical. The results showed that grammatical and lexical cohesion elements were found including, grammatical: additional or additive conjunctions, namely in the word and and di-serta-i, and also, sequence or sequence conjunctions in the past word, and adverb conjunctions of place in the word with. Lexical: repetition with full repetition of a noun (personal name; Nataga); synonyms in the form of nouns (personal names; Tana Modo and Tana Air); antonyms in the form of verbs, namely the word fall and ready to attack; collocation in the form of nouns and adjectives, namely words that highlight eyes, are red, and are full of anger; hyponyms in the form of nouns (animals), namely the words ants, termites, and mice (animals); and equivalence in the form of verbs and nouns, namely the words siege and siege.

Abstract

This study aims at analyzing the structure of Tidore language verb phrase. Descriptive method is used of this study in order to describe the language phenomena in a certain period of time. The data are obtained through recording, elicitation, and retrospection from native speakers (Ahmad Rajak and Sabtu Puha) who settle at the Tidore subdistrict. The basis theory is Generative Grammar. The result of this study indicates that the structures of Tidore language verb phrases are constructed by the transitive verbs as a nucleus which followed by the attributes in the form of noun phrases and followed by noun phrases which can be developed by prepositional phrases and adverbial phrase as well. The positions of nucleus verbs are preceded by objective noun phrases. The transitive verbs of Tidore language have the affixes in the form of prefixes such as yo-, mo-, so-, wo-,. The verb phrases structure rules of Tidore language consist of FV → Spec + V’ + FN + FPrep, FV → Spec + V’ + FN + FAdv, FV → Spec + V’ + FN.

Abstract

The study aims to describe focalization by using Mieke Bal's naratology study. This research is a qualitative and uses narratological interpretation. The data collection technique is a documentation technique, namely reading and noting the data by the research focus. The collected data is taken from novel Soekram Trilogy by Saaprdi Djoko Damono that is identified, classified, and analysed. The results showed that novel Soekram Trilogy was more dominant in using narrators from outside the fabula (story) compared to narrators from figures inside the fabula. This happened because there are many external focalizers related the events that occur in the novel so that the narrator is more active in every event flows in the story.

Abstract

This study discusses the analysis of the personality and inner conflict of the main character in Ryan Tan's short film Dí Dá . This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a literature study based on Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory with the personality structure of the id, ego, and superego. This study also uses the note-taking technique in collecting data. The purpose of this research is to analyze the personality structure and inner conflict of the main character in Ryan Tan's short film Dí Dá. The results obtained from this study are the main character's personalities are selfish, think that he is unlucky, and is full of regrets. The inner conflict experienced by the character is illustrated in the lyrics of the song he wrote which contains about how at first he felt unlucky and felt sorry for what he had done to his mother.

Abstract

Violence is a psychological activity in individual life as a result of emotional outbursts and it manifested in actions that can harm others people. The phenomenon of violence that occurs in reality often become a source of inspiration or idea for a writer such as Leila S. Chudori. Through her novel, Laut Bercerita (2017), he describes the violence in the life story experienced by the main character: Biru Laut. The data analysis technique is carried out by (1) identifying the data, namely recording all forms of violence in the novel; (2) classifying data, namely sorting out physical and non-physical violence; (3) interpreting data, namely interpreting each paragraph or sentence according to the researcher's understanding based on theory; and (4) describing the data, namely detailing in depth and focus so that the problem to be answered is found. As a result, in the novel of Laut Bercerita by Leila S. Chudori, there are two types of violence, namely (1) physical violence, in the form of fists, kicks, slaps, etc. and (2) non-physical violence, in the form of fear, sadness, trauma, and other psychological disorders.

Abstract

This study discusses the categorization of verbs based on the meaning components. To focus the discussion, the author only takes data on some verbs starting with the letter ba' in the Al Munawwir Arabic-Indonesian dictionary published in 2002. The research method is composed of three stages, the first stage is data collection using the observation, listening, and note-taking method. Meanwhile, data analysis uses the distributional method and binary analysis. The result of binary analysis shows that verbs starting with the letter ba' have the meaning of measure, action, and deed. Three verbs are composed of components meaning action and experience. Four verbs are composed of action and benefactive meaning components. One verb is composed of components meaning action and location. Fourteen verbs are indicated as human. The seven verbs are signaled as non-human. The six verbs can be indicated as human or non-human. Based on binary analysis, it can be concluded that verbs starting with the letter ba' are composed by meaning components in the form of process.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the components of Gorontalo community’s customs or marriage tradition in the novel literary work Perawan Kedua by Lizha Nur Kamiden which contains elements of gender-biased morality. This research is a qualitative descriptive by using a sociology of literature approach. The data in this research were all forms of words, phrases, and sentences that represented moral values ​​or contain elements of morality that were gender biased in the marriage tradition of Gorontalo community. The main data source of this research was the novel Perawan Kedua by Lizha Nur Kamiden. Technique of collecting data used reading, listening, recording. Technique of analyzing data used sociology of literature studies. The results found that the representation of morality in the category of gender bias in marriage tradition of Gorontalo community in Perawan Kedua novel was found in bridal clothing, the stages of marriage, namely the tolobalango tradition (marriage proposal) as well as moodutu (traditional wedding delivery procession), and the kain putih pengantin (virgin white clothing).

Abstract

With a background in the foothills of Mount Ciremai, Pandu Hamzah (2015) critiques environmental problems in the Ciremai area through his novel, Sebuah Wilayah yang Tidak Ada di Google Earth. This novel describes the phenomenon of political problems in society related to the use of nature. Therefore, the variety of studies that can be used is political ecology. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to thoroughly describe political ecology in Pandu Hamzah's novel Sebuah Wilayah yang Tidak Ada di Google Earth. The results showed that the form of political ecology in the novel A Territory that Doesn't exist in Google Earth is contained in the characteristics, interests, and actions of actors. Characteristics of actors in the Sebuah Wilayah yang Tidak Ada di Google Earth are divided into anthropocentric, biocentric, and ecocentric. The interests of actors in the Sebuah Wilayah yang Tidak Ada di Google Earth that are highlighted come from groups of countries, companies, non-governmental organizations, and grassroots actors. Actor's actions in the Sebuah Wilayah yang Tidak Ada di Google Earth Earth are manifested in the form of an institutionalized and organized environmental movement.
