Abstract

In the midst of the climate crisis issue as it is today, literary works have started to appear on the topic of ecology. One of them is the novel Rahasia Pelangi by Riawani Elyta and Shabrina WS which is set in natural conditions in the Riau region. The novel Secret of the Rainbow raises environmental issues regarding the conflict between elephants and the Tesso Nillo community. The characters in the novel Secret of the Rainbow are described as environmental fighters who work for the Environmental NGO, CWO (Change World Organization). They focus on handling cases of human-elephant conflict in Riau. Not only presenting natural problems in the form of physical damage to nature, but also the relationship between humans and nature in a social context. Therefore, this research focuses on social ecology. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that aims to thoroughly describe social ecology in the novel Rahasia Pelangi by Riawani Elyta and Shabrina Ws. The results of the analysis of social ecology in the novel Secret of the Rainbow by Riawani Elyta and Shabrina WS show that the characters in the novel reflect the interaction between humans and nature. Humans influence natural conditions through their outlook on life. Nature influences the human condition in terms of lifestyle, welfare, religious and cultural activities.

Abstract

Questioning the Image of Indonesian Humans Through Mochtar Lubis' Novels Abstract A writer writes literary works, among other things, to convey life models that are idealized and displayed in stories through characters. Through literary works, a writer offers moral messages related to the noble qualities of humanity, fighting for human rights and dignity. These qualities are essentially universal, it means believed by all humans. Mochtar Lubis through the novels Maut dan Cinta and Senja di Jakarta revealed a picture of humans with various problems. Regarding this issue, the purpose of this paper is to reveal the way Mochtar Lubis describes the image of Indonesian nationalist people, who love their homeland and their own nation. The human is depicted through the characters or ideas in the two novels. Disclosure of these problems will reveal the theory of structuralism so that it can be seen how the picture of people is. The used method is descriptive qualitative. The research data is literature. From the search results, it is found that the image of Indonesian nationalist people idealized and expressed in both novels is a picture of Indonesian nationalist people who are dignified, noble in character, and have a sense of nationalism and nationality towards their nation. Abstract

ABSTRAK: Language variation language actors. In language which is one of the human communication systems used by society in interacting among humans. Language can also experience developments caused by the sophistication of technology that occurs in the present as happened in the communication of the coastal Branta Community. The language used has its own meaning for people who work as fishermen. This studiy aims to describe the types of language variations that exist in the coastal Branta Community and objectively describe language variation in terms of usage and formality. The data of this research were obtained of the people in the waterside environment. Keyword: variations in language, variations in usage, variations in formality.

Abstract

Technological advances in learning are expected to help students and lecturers. This study examines how student learning behavior in the application of e-learning in Indonesian language courses? What are the obstacles and solutions in implementing e-learning for Indonesian language courses? The purpose of this study was to determine student learning behavior in the application of e-learning Indonesian courses and find solutions to the problem of implementing e-learning Indonesian courses. The method used is a combination method by combining quantitative and qualitative research methods. Samples were taken as many as 60 of the population of all students who took Indonesian language courses at the Faculty of Islamic Religion, Nahdlatul Ulama University, Surakarta. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires through Google Forms and interviews. The analysis was carried out using the SPSS program and descriptive. The results of this study revealed that the average student felt the impact of e-learning learning on student learning behavior was good. However, it needs to be re-evaluated so that the positive impact can be greater. In addition, there are still students who answer that they have less impact, which is enough to be a record of the e-learning learning that has been running. There are several obstacles in the implementation of e-learning in the first year. However, with the solutions provided, it can be overcome immediately and make e-learning learning as good and even better than face-to-face learning.

Abstract

This article aims to reveal the hidden aspects behind the ambiguity of the positions of Gelanggang, Asrul Sani, and the narrator of “Sahabat Saya Cordiaz”. This study uses qualitative data collection methods. The researcher uses the Bourdieu’s field construction method and the Social Network Visualizer (SocNetV) application to visualize the structure. The results of this study indicate that there is a similar doxa of Gelanggang and Pujangga Baru behind the ambiguity of Gelanggang’s position; behind the ambiguity of Asrul Sani's position lies the multiple-role relation and distance from absolutes that fits the doxa of Gelanggang; and the ambiguity of the narrator's position is homologous to the ambiguity of Gelanggang’s position and Asrul Sani's position. The alignment between Gelanggang, Asrul Sani, and “Sahabat Saya Cordiaz” shows that the objective structure has a mutual relationship with the author's subjective structure which is manifested through his literary works.

Abstract

Abstrak Artikel ini bertujuan menemukan perubahan makna yang terjadi pada leksem sikap batin (LSB) pada ranah afektif, tabiat, dan kognitif. Metode penelitian menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif melalui penjelasan data secara komprehensif sehingga diperoleh simpulan yang akurat.. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa berdasarkan 130 LSB yang ditemukan, ada tujuh belas LSB yang mengalami perubahan makna melalui perluasan makna, penyempitan makna, metafora. Perluasan makna terjadi pada leksem: bahagia, senang, rawan, takut, panggak, perkasa, hormat, santun, dan tobat; penyempitan makna terjadi pada leksem gembira, pongah, congkak, dan percaya; dan melalui metaforis terjadi pada leksem gondok, gentar, kecut, dan celik. Kata Kunci: sikap batin, leksem, peluasan makna, penyempitan makna Abstract This article aims to find semantic changes that occur in attitudinal lexeme (LSB) in the affective, behavioral, and cognitive domains. The research method uses descriptive qualitative through a comprehensive explanation of data in order to obtain accurate conclusions. The results show that based on 130 LSB found, there are seventeen LSB that experience semantic changes through widening of meaning, narrowing of meaning, and metaphors. Widening of meaning in the lexeme: happy, happy, vulnerable, afraid, proud, mighty, respectful, polite, and repentant; narrowing of meaning occurs in happy, arrogant, arrogant, and trusting lexemes; and through metaphors occurs in the lexemes goiter, tremble, wry, and celiac. Abstract

Abstract The emergence of the phenomenon of adapting novels into films is a change in the substance of the discourse that gave rise to the term ecranization. This study aims to describe the process of ecranization of Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu from a novel into a film. This research is descriptive qualitative. The data of this research are in the form of shrinking in novels and films, additions in novels, and various changes in novels and films in which there is a process of ecranization of Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu from the novel into the film. The source of the data for this research is the novel Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu by Tere-liye, published in 2001. The film Rembulan by Danial Rifki was produced by Max Pictures, in 2019, with a duration of 92 minutes. Data collection was carried out by two procedures, namely observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the process of ecranization of Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu from a novel into a film occurs in three elements, namely elements of plot, character, and setting, namely due to shrinking, adding, and varying changes. Meanwhile, the shrinkage of plot, characters, and setting occurs because the media used in making the novel into a film has a different shape. Overall, it can be seen that the reduction in visualization from novels to films is still reasonable to do. This is because the omission of stories, characters, and settings is taken in parts that are not so important to visualize. The addition of the plot, characters, and setting in the film as a whole is still relevant to the story in the novel, it's just that the visualization in the form of a film is made more interesting by the many story conflicts, additional characters and backgrounds that appear so that the story in the film is more alive than the original. stories in novels. This appearance is to add to the essence of the film in the context of visualization so that it can easily bring the audience into the storyline. As for the changes in the various plots, characters, and settings made in the visualization to the form of the film as a whole, it is not far from the depiction in the novel.

Abstract

Abstrak Tulisan ini merupakan penelitian yang mengaji tentang kode bahasa yang dipakai oleh masyarakat pendatang dari wilayah Tapal Kuda, yang biasanya disebut sebagai kelompok Pendalungan (hasil akulturasi budaya Madura dan Jawa yang tinggal dan menetap di wilayah pesisir pantai, di Desa Roomo Pesisir, Gresik beserta pola bahasanya. Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian kualitatif karena menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata-kata tertulis atau lisan dari orang-orang dan perilakunya yang dapat diamati. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan wawancara. Pada tahap analisis data, menggunakan teknik etnometodologi yang ada dalam Etnososiolinguistik. Penelitian ini menghasilkan tiga kode bahasa masyarakat pendatang di wilayah Roomo Pesisir, Gresik dengan rincian: 1) bahasa Indonesia; 2) bahasa Jawa (ngoko dan krama); 3) bahasa Madura (kasar), dan tujuh pola pemilihan bahasa dalam interaksi sehari-hari oleh masyarakat pendatang wilayah Roomo Pesisir, Gresik. Ketujuh pola pemilihan bahasa tersebut adalah 1) Bahasa sehari-hari dalam keluarga; 2) Bahasa di sekolah/tempat kerja; 3) Bahasa dengan sesama pendatang dari daerah yang sama; 4) Bahasa pada acara (hajatan, posyandu, vaksin, pengajian, dsb.); 5) Bahasa dengan orang tua; 6) Bahasa berdasarkan etnis; 7) Bahasa berdasarkan status sosial. Ketujuh pola bahasa tersebut merupakan akibat dari pergesekan penggunaan tiga bahasa oleh penutur dalam waktu yang sama Kata-kata kunci: Etnososiolinguistik, Pola Bahasa, Masyarakat Pendatang

Abstract

Advertising is one of the needs in marketing goods or services in an increasingly sophisticated era. Advertising creation can be disseminated in online and offline forms. The choice of words in advertising is one of the things that must be considered because it is related to the function of advertising. This study aims to analyze the form, function, arrangement, and grammatical meaning of the modifative phrase nomina. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method with primary data sources, namely advertisements for new student registrations for private universities in Jakarta obtained from several sources. Data collection techniques use documentation techniques in the form of screen captures, intensive listens, and notes. Data analysis techniques carried out by researchers, namely: (1) Looking for 10 advertisements for new student registrations for private universities in Jakarta through several pages. (2) Listen to the content of the advertisements that have been collected. (3) Record modifiable phrases in the form of nouns found in advertisements. (4) Analyze data using theories and categories of syntactic functions by referential methods. (5) Summarizing and presenting the results. The results showed that there are 26 forms of modificative nomina phrases used in advertisements with varying grammatical arrangements and meanings and are inseparable from the function of advertising builders.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the portrait of social reality in American society related to sexual violence in the drama A Streetcar Named Desire. In this study, a qualitative method was used to show the data descriptively using the Van Dijk model of critical discourse analysis approach. The data in this study came from the drama A Streetcar Named Desire. The data was collected using the observation method, then continued with the note taking technique. The results of this study indicate that the sociocultural life of American society is full of violence, gambling and sex. Through Van Dijk's analysis, it can be concluded that the discourse construction of A Streetcar Named Desire with violence as a theme is a text constructed from sociocultural phenomena in America. The strong patriarchal culture in America is the social context behind the creation of texts with the theme of violence in the drama A Streetcar Named Desire. In this context, an author with a family life full of violence can be described in the life in the drama. Such family life is a representation of family life in America that is full of the violence.
