Abstract

The competencies possessed by humans increase with the development of science and technology, causing registers and code switching that appear in the interaction of buying and selling electronic goods. This study aims to describe the factors of code switching and the form of register variations in buying and selling electronic goods on social media. The formulation of the problem taken in this study is how the form of register variations and code switching factors in buying and selling electronic goods on social media, Instagram and Facebook. This study used descriptive qualitative method. the data taken in the form of words, phrases, and sentences. Data collection uses listening and note-taking techniques, while data analysis techniques using data collection techniques from social media Instagram and Facebook. The results showed that the first data found 4 lingual registers, 1 limited envelope register and 5 open envelope registers, for the cause of code switching there were 9 factors causing code switching. Meanwhile, for the second data, there were 4 lingual registers, 2 restricted envelope registers, and 2 open envelope registers, the cause of code switching in the second data found that there were 8 factors.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the process of developing explanatory text material based on CapCut Video Editing media in class XI SMA and to determine the feasibility of the product produced using the CapCut Video Editing application for explanatory text material in class XI SMA. This study uses research and development methods using the Borg and Gall procedure with the stages of needs and problem analysis, product design, product development, product validation, and product revision. The calculation of the feasibility value was determined using a Likert scale on the validation results of material experts and media experts. The results showed that the product resulting from the research "Development of Explanatory Text Materials Based on CapCut Video Editing Media in Class XI SMA" was included in the "very good" category. This is based on the results of material expert validation conducted twice with a score of 93% in the "very good" category and 2 times media expert validation with a score of 94% in the "very good" category. Thus, the product is said to be suitable for use in the learning process

Abstract

Through the adventures of a child as the main character, the novel Mata di Tanah Melus by Okky Madasari seeks to explore the reality of the life of the Melus nation—one of tribes in East Nusa Tenggara—which is isolated, attached to magical things, and rich in the mythology of traditional Indonesian society. In this regard, this study aims to describe the characteristics of magical realism in the novel Mata di Tanah Melus. The data source of this research is the novel Mata di Tanah Melus by Okky Madasari. This study uses qualitative methods to collect, filter, and analyze data. This study uses Wendy B. Faris's magical realism theory approach as an analytical tool. The results showed that the level of magical realism in the novel Mata di Tanah Melus was quite strong with five elements of magical realism in it, they are (1) irreducible element; (2) phenomenal world; (3) unsetting doubts; (4) merging realism; and (5) disruption of time and space. Based on the analysis of the five elements of magical realism, it is known that the narrative of magical realism in Mata di Tanah Melus by Okky Madasari shows a tendency towards local myths in Indonesia, especially regarding the Melus tribe developed in East Nusa Tenggara. This tendency is in accordance with the character of magical realism in Indonesia which is identical to religion/belief in ancestors, Sufism, history, and folklore.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the intelligence of Overcoming Adversity (Adversity Quotient) on the character Enong in the novel Padang Bulan by Andrea Hirata. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method and the technique is content analysis technique, in which analyzing data which have been described and the approach used is psychology of literature approach, the theory used is Adversity Quotient which is proposed by Paul G. Stoltz. It can be concluded that Enong has the intelligence when facing difficulty or Adversity Quotient (AQ) as a climber. Climber itself is a fighter figure. Climber has always been serious about living his/her life, having a sense of optimism, having plans for his/her life and they are a figure of thinkers who will not let the obstacles come to halt his/her struggle.

Abstract

Nature is inseparable from the nature of myth. As a myth, nature is believed to be a manifestation of supernatural beings. The theme of the myth of nature is then written in the form of literature. Among them is the Anthology of Stories "The Story of Boki Dehegila". This anthology contains various stories about women's relations and natural myths. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to reveal the relationship between female characters and natural myths in the anthology "Kisah Boki Dehegila". The method used is ecofeminism with qualitative descriptive analysis. Research data in the form of textual data. The analysis technique uses Rifaterre's semiotics, namely heuristic and hermeneutic reading. The results showed that the relationship between women and natural myths in the "Anthology of the Boki Dehegila Story" were "Fat Finakoa", "The Story of Boki Dehegila", "Batu Belah", "Marijuanga", and "The Origin of Telaga Biru", and "The Origin of the Origin of Blue Water". Mount Dukono". The female characters who manifest with nature in spritism are the characters of Finagonli, Mother, Gadis and Majojaru. Meanwhile, hierophically, the characters are Boki Dei and Grandma Tolori. These characters manifest through the elements of “stone”, “water”, and “earth”. The female characters manifest with natural elements caused by psychological violence.

Abstract

Ecological damage on the island of Kalimantan is a phenomenon that occurs due to excessive exploration of natural resources. The impact is in the form of environmental degradation which causes natural disasters in various places. This phenomenon was responded by writers through their monumental works with the theme of the subordination of society due to the threat of ecological damage on the island of Kalimantan. Bantersi technology (reading, interpretation, and application) will optimize the inner contemplation function of students (students) to be able to participate in preserving nature through literary reception media. As an environment and character-based learning approach, the objects used are literature with an environmental perspective on the island of Kalimantan with its ecological dimensions that are synergized with the role of women as important subjects in every ecological issue that exists in one place. The method used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach with a literary ecofeminism perspective. The data sources of this research are poetry, short stories, novels and others that contain elements of environmental education for students. The form of data in this study is a motivational story unit related to the research problem. This study uses library techniques (textual) in data collection activities. The data analysis technique used is descriptive argumentative technique.

Abstract

Based on observations made by researchers, it is known that the poetry writing skills of class VIII C students of SMP Negeri 4 Jombang are still less than the KKM score. The lack of students' ability to write poetry is caused by factors from teachers and students. The factor of the teacher is the lack of use of learning media because the teacher only uses the lecture method. Factors from students, namely students find it difficult to determine the theme as an object in developing their inspiration. This study aims to improve poetry writing skills using the Wheel of Name media in class VIII C students of SMP Negeri 4 Jombang. This study uses a model or method of classroom action research (CAR) from Kemmis & Taggart (Arikunto, 2010:137). This research was carried out in two cycles, cycle I and cycle II. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII C of SMP Negeri 4 Jombang as many as 31 students. Data was collected using test and non-test techniques. Non-test data obtained from observations, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The test is in the form of an assessment of writing poetry with the assessment criteria, namely the choice of words/diction, rhyme/rhyme and language style/figurative language according to the theme. The results of this study indicate an increase in the average score of students' poetry writing in each cycle. Judging from the beginning of the activity, the pre-cycle has an average value of 68.70, increased in the first cycle with an average value of 76.12. Then from the average value of the first cycle 76.12 increased in the second cycle with an average value of 85.03. The increase was also marked by the presence of language styles used by students, namely personification, metaphor, hyperbole and sarcasm. Choice of words/diction and rhymes/rhymes that match the theme.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasingly widespread media technology, especially on Youtube media, where each video is able to convey information with various purposes in each of its speeches. This study aims to deepen and broaden knowledge regarding speech acts, as well as explain locutionary and illocutionary speech acts contained in the Self-Development videos on the Bookworm Youtube Channel. Qualitative descriptive methods, pragmatic approaches, listening techniques, and note-taking techniques form the basis of this research. Based on the analysis of locutionary and illocutionary speech acts in the Self-Development playlist on The Nerdy Youtube Channel, the utterances here contain several meanings related to speech events and speech acts which are the material in the analysis. So from several videos on the Youtube Channel that have been collected and researched using locutionary and illocutionary speech acts, the researcher found 3 types of locutionary speech, which include declarative, interrogative, and imperative speech. As well as 3 types of illocutionary speech which include assertive, directive, and commissive speech. We hope that this research will bring renewal and complement the results of other pragmatic studies, especially those related to locutionary and illocutionary speech acts.

Abstract

The news ‘Indra Kenz Mohon Maaf: Saya Tidak Ada Niat Merugikan dan Menipu’ written by a journalist for CNBC Indonesia, which is felt to have an important role in the reconstruction of news by journalist and the public. The researcher in interested in studying the news ‘Indra Kenz Mohon Maaf: Saya Tidak Ada Niat Merugikan dan Menipu’ using critical discourse analysis approach of Teun A. van Dijk by using element of text analysis and social cognition analysis. The purpose of this study is to find out the text analysis and social cognition in the social cognition in the news ‘Indra Kenz Mohon Maaf: Saya Tidak Ada Niat Merugikan dan Menipu’. The method used in the study is a qualitative research method, with a type of literature research. Data collection techniques used by researchers are interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques were carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Broadly speaking, this study has two conclusions. First, the text analysis has the results of three structures that form a single unit, namely: macro structure, super structure, and micro structure of the news ‘Indra Kenz Mohon Maaf: Saya Tidak Ada Niat Merugikan dan Menipu’. Second, an analysis of social cognition is carried out by asking questions regarding the content, topic, and background of presenting the news to Muhammad Iqbal as the news writer. The cognition structure does assume that Indra Kenz is a fraud and does not side with him, but journalists still provide space for Indra Kenz to apologize to the public. Journalists use a change of order strategy and place Indra Kenz's apology first in the news

Abstract

One of the components in the implementation of learning is the assessment process. In this case, attitude assessment, as a measuring tool to find out the level of development and progress of students in the learning process. Of course, the independent curriculum as a new product of 21st century education provides many opportunities and inputs so that the implementation of learners in the future will be better. The focus in this study is related to the attitude assessment process carried out by teachers in Indonesian subjects. The purpose of this study is to determine the application of attitude assessment carried out by teachers of Indonesian language subjects and implementation to students. In analyzing data using qualitative methods with a descriptive approach, the design used is a case study, so that researchers are able to uncover and analyze problems in depth and get more specific results. The subjects in this study were Indonesian language teachers, students of classes X, XII, XII. Data collection using primary and secondary sources. Primary sources of sources such as observations, interviews, while secondary sources are books, journals, and scientific articles. The result of this study is that the application of attitude assessment is classified as good by dividing the attitude assessment pattern by adjusting the application of pancasila student profile values at each level so that each grade level can be focused on the assessment process of one aspect among the six aspects of pancasila student profile values. Some of the obstacles encountered in attitude assessment start from the quantity and efficiency of assessment time that is not optimal.
