Abstract

English is approved as foreign language in Indonesian learner by distributing some aspect accepted there especially in culture. It involves Indonesian learner to explore it in globalization era. This causes the learner motivated that studying English is very important. So it is needed a new learning style to enrich reading, writing, listening and speaking skills by utilizing technology. It is blended learning that becomes one of the ways to improve English skills for the students. This research attempts at describing the use of blended learning in promote English skills at State Islamic Senior High School 01 Kudus. This is qualitative research. The data were collected by observing English teaching and learning using blended learning system and interviewing one of English teachers and five students at State Islamic Senior High School 01 Kudus. The result shows that the English teacher applied blended learning around two years. It is the combination between face-to-face classroom settings and using technology such as smartphone and computers of school. Students were asked to follow the teaching and learning English by using some applications, form and connecting the internet. The benefits and challenges will be faced in the teaching and learning activities. However, the students are more interested in promoting English skills by using blended learning.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is whether to use the method question and answer can improve student achievement outcomes in class x Ma nurul ilmi Bategede on learning? The objectives to be achieved in this research are to improve student achievement in class X Ma nurul ilmi on English learning using the question and answer method. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles, for each the cycle uses stages: (1) planning, (2) Acting, (3) Observation, and (4) Reflection. This research was conducted in Ma Nurul ilmi class X with students learning using the question and answer method and students learning without using the question and answer method. The results of the study indicate that the preparation and mastery of the material and knowledge of the principles in asking questions can improve the skills of the teacher or students in asking questions and opinions. which indirectly influences student achievement by changing the grades obtained by students. things that must be considered in the context of efforts to create a conducive academic environment, the preparation of teaching (with the question and answer method) questioning skills and empathy and democratic attitudes, teachers must always be developed in order to create an active learning process with the question and answer method.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the application of the English area in IAIN Kudus where the aim of the English Area is improving English speaking skills. This program is carried out by one of the organizations at IAIN Kudus that called STEC (Student English Club), an organization oriented in English. The implementation of the English Area is because in learning languages, an effective method to actually use it is only through habituation. Therefore, the English Area is one of the objects of research on how to learn language habits to improve speaking skills effectively.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to know the implementation using discovery learning method to teach writing recount text 12th grade student of 1 Batealit Vocational High School and to know the surplus and deficiency by using discovery learning method. The respondent of this research are the English teacher and the student of agriculture 12th grade. And the method are using interview and class room action research. The result is discovery learning method is more comprehensive than doesn’t using discovery learning. Although there are many difficulty to apply this method because some of them didn’t familiar with this method and most of the students are the lazier person but they are smart students. After applied the discovery learning they more pleasant with English.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the effect of using movies in improving vocabulary and motivation to learn among students across different age groups in Pasucen Village, Trangkil, Pati. The research focuses on the relationship between the increase in vocabulary skill alongside motivation and the age group of the participants. Descriptive qualitative design is used as the method of the research. Data is collected through test, questionnaire and interview. The test is used to measure the vocabulary skill of the student before and after watching movies, while the questionnaire is used to know the students’ view about this method. The result shows that this method can increase the vocabulary of all students, but does not increase the motivation of all students in the same way.

Abstract

Teaching Grammar through fun learning can minimize the boredom of students. By adopting singing patterns, students can memorize the formula quickly. This study is a qualitative research. The result reveals that by incorporating the fun learnings of using comparison, singing and grammar puzzle, students become more critical and have a better understanding regarding formulas and patterns of Tenses. In addition, These methods are merely beneficial for students especially in learning vocabulary, pronunciation, speaking, listening, and grammar. This study presents implications of teaching English particularly Grammar using various methods including Comparison, Singing and Puzzle.

Abstract

This study investigates the instructional listening materials. The reason of choosing this topic is based on the listening included in skill that assessed the most difficult in language skill. In addition, the audio-visual media is also interesting. With listen and watch the materials it will add the understanding of language. The aims of this research were to investigate the effectiveness of using audio visual to improve students listening skill, how the strategy to take advantage of audio-visual media to improve listening skills and to know attitudes of using audio visual in listening skill. The target of this research was the member of Student English Club of IAIN Kudus. The data were collected through questionnaire. The result of research showed that on the based questionnaire, the student gives positive attitude that the using audio visual is effective to improve listening skill.

Abstract

Pronunciation is an important think in learning English. many people assume that pronunciation is the hardest think in learning English. because of the speak muscle, which is usually using the first language, then must speak the word of second language or third language. So that the difficulties in speaking appear. It is influencing the English Education student in IAIN Kudus that English education students. The propose of this research is to improve English pronunciation of English Education Student C’18 IAIN Kudus. This study belongs to experiment research and using pre-test and post-test as the media. The focus of this research is in using U-dictionary to improve English education pronunciation.

Abstract

The propose of this study was to find the effort which can use to realize e-learning efficiently. The research is focus on the problem how is the learning model on e-learning that is efficient. This is a qualitative research and uses descriptive qualitative. The results show information’s about the lack of liveliness of students in managing their time which cause their e-learning to become not efficient. This writing will examine about the efforts in realizing the e-learning efficiently
