Abstract

Pregnancy is a vulnerable period for a woman. There are many factors at risk of endangering a mother's life from the beginning of pregnancy, childbirth, to the puerperium. The maternal mortality rate in Indonesia is still high, reaching 305 deaths per 100,000 live births. Hypertension is one of the causes of pregnancy complications that often occur. Hypertension cases in Indonesia were 26.5% (RISKESDAS, 2013) while in East Java cases of hypertension were recorded at 13.47% and in Surabaya 10.43% of the total population who had been tested for blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between work status, gravida status, and anxiety with the incidence of hypertension in pregnant women at Kalijudan Health Center, Surabaya. This study was an observational study with a cross sectional approach. Sampling in this study used a total sampling technique which was obtained as many as 38 pregnant women respondents at Kalijudan Health Center, Surabaya. Data collection was obtained from interview questionnaires and the blood pressure data was taken according to the medical records when respondents were checking their blood pressure. The independent variables in this study were job status, gravida status, and anxiety. The dependent variable in this study was the incidence of hypertension in pregnant women. The results of this study were there was a relationship between gravida status and the incidence of hypertension in pregnant women (p = 0.011), while employment status (p = 0.314) and anxiety (p = 0.107) were not associated with the incidence of hypertension in pregnant women. The conclusion of this study is the characteristics of pregnant women respondents in Kalijudan Health Center dominated by pregnant women who work, have multigravida status, and have anxiety during pregnancy. Conducting IEC-based counseling on hypertension and routinely screening pregnant women is considered to be the right thing to reduce the incidence of hypertension in pregnant women

Abstract

Background: Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) in hemodialysis patients results from a shift in the rostral fluid overnight. Compression Stocking is a fairly inexpensive therapy compared to other OSA therapies. Compression Stocking is leg stocking that use a pressure force of 20-30 mmHg, effective in preventing the accumulation of fluid that is installed in accordance with the patient's feet. Objective: to determine the effect of Compression Stockings on Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) hemodialysis patients. Method: Search used several electronic databases such as Google Scholar, Proquest, and PubMed. The inclusion criteria in this literature study were quantitative research papers and experiments in English, full text, peer review, published between 2008-2018. Results: Searching for articles with predetermined keywords obtained 718 articles from the database, Google Schoolar obtained 550 articles, ProQuest obtained 68 articles, and PubMed obtained 100 articles. Articles were screened to 32 articles according to the purpose of the review with inclusion and exclusion criteria. After screening 15 articles that met the criteria were read intensively and then analyzed based on content analysis. Conclusion: An overnight rostral fluid shift is one of the factors contributing to the pathogenesis of OSA in hemodyalysis patients. Compression Stocking can be considered as an alternative therapy to prevent fluid retention in the legs and overnight shift to the neck thus providing evidence for a new therapeutic approach to OSA.

Abstract

Introduction: Pressure injury is a major problem in patients with long bed rest. At least the pressure injury has an impact on patients, families and health workers, which is one of the causes of morbidity in patients both physically and mentally, resulting in high health expenses, and an increase in nurses' workload. So it is necessary to take precautionary measures that include oral nutrition, repositioning and skin protection that are fairly expensive. This literature review wants to describe the amount of costs needed to prevent pressure injury.Method: Data is collected since 2017, using 3 databases (Pubmed, science direct, goggle schollar) where the literature used is published internationally, additional references are taken from the bibliography of all relevant articles. Inclusion criteria refer to the modality of prevention of injury injury and the costs required.Result: The average cost required for oral nutrition is AU $ 33,687 compared to standard care, namely AU $ 425 in 1 year, the total cost incurred due to pressure injury was $ 96,552 for 10 months, with an average of $ 9655 / month, and use of skin protection assessed most cost effective. Conclusion: Although it is considered relatively expensive, prevention of pressure injury provides an economic benefit of 87% compared to treatment

Abstract

Peripheral intravenous catheterization in neonates often results in complications associated with their condition as vulnerable population. Common complications of IV catheterization include infiltration, extravasation, phlebitis, leakage, or even vascular infection which may lead to death among neonates. Complications of peripheral IV catheterization are still being investigated in studies in order to identify the incidence and risk factors. Objective:   This systematic review aimed to identify complications of peripheral intravenous catheterization in neonates and its risk factorsMethods:  Literature searching involved databases such as Science Direct, Scopus, EBSCOhost and SAGE Journals for articles published between 2009-2018 with key words of peripheral intravenous; complication; phlebitis; neonates; risk factor; and infusion therapy. Results: 7 articles addressing peripheral IV catheterization in neonates were included in analysis, revealing three most frequent complications include infiltration, extravasation, and phlebitis. Various factors may affect it. Conclusion:  Complication incidence (more than 60%) suggested that the phenomenon is an issue that should be immediately addressed since neonates are part of vulnerable population.  It is imperative to continue investigating further in order to identify the incidence and factors affecting it

Abstract

Pregnancy, childbirth and having children are a woman's nature and are awaited by every woman who has a family. Increasing gestational age, pregnant women feel increasingly anxious because they are approaching labor. Fear before childbirth is the most common fear experienced by mothers during pregnancy. Pregnant women need to take time to maintain harmony of mind and body through relaxation. One relaxation technique is hypnobirthing. Hypnobirthing is very useful to reduce pain and emotional stress during childbirth, so that mothers are more calm and can overcome the anxiety experienced by pregnant women in the face of childbirth. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of hypnobirthing participation with the level of anxiety of pregnant women in the face of childbirth. This research is an analytic research, using a retrospective cohort research design. The research sample was 20 people, taken randomly using purposive random sampling. Data collection includes filling out the HRS-A questionnaire. Data analysis used Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney Test. The results showed that pregnant women who followed hypnobirthing and who did not follow hypnobirthing were pre-tested and post-test, there were differences in the level of anxiety between the two groups, which was indicated by a p-value of 0.005 <0.05. Furthermore, the results of the study indicate a relationship between hypnobirthing participation and a decrease in the level of anxiety of pregnant women in the face of childbirth. This is indicated by the results of p-value 0.007 <0.05.The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between the participation of hypnobirthing and the level of anxiety of pregnant women in the face of childbirth. Therefore, pregnant women are expected to increase awareness in finding information about methods that can help reduce anxiety levels during pregnancy to childbirth such as one of hypnobirthing. Keywords: Hypnobirthing participation, Anxiety Level, Pregnant Women.
