Abstract

Introduction: Preoperative patients with anxiety will cause an increase in breathing frequency and heart rate, potentially resulting in the cancellation of surgery. Anxious patients will be intervened through deep breath relaxation techniques that are proven to reduce anxiety levels. Method: The research design is "quasi-experimental" with a " Non-Equivalent Group Design Pre and Post Test" approach. The sampling method used was purposive sampling with a total of 20 respondents divided into two groups. Determination of respondents based on the inclusion criteria of general anesthesia patients, compositional awareness with moderate-severe APAIS anxiety levels who have scheduled surgery at Karsa Husada Batu Hospital. The independent variable is deep breath relaxation, and the dependent variable is anxiety level. Univariate analysis to determine the characteristics of respondents. Bivariate analysis using paired t-test and independent t-test to determine the difference between the two groups. Results: The paired t-test in the pre-post control group resulted in a p-value of 0.823, indicating an average increase of 0.80. Conversely, in the pre-post treatment group, the p-value was 0.000, signifying a mean decrease of 4.00. In the independent t-test between the control and treatment groups in the post-test, the p-value was 0.002. Discussion: Deep breath relaxation improves lung ventilation and blood oxygenation, involving the medulla oblongata which controls the cardiovascular and HPA which regulates the neuendocrine system. Activation of ACTH and CRH increases cortisol secretion, which is associated with anxiety.

Abstract

Objective:Labor pain is a natural defense mechanism for the danger signs of pregnancy and discomfort when experiencing uterine contractions. Guided Imagery non-pharmacological therapy aims to increase the patient's ability to tolerate pain. The aim of this research is to determine the application of Guided Imagery, a combination of lavender aroma therapy to reduce pain in mothers in the first stage of birth. Methods:The research method used is pre-experimental research with one group pre-post test design. The sample that will be used in this research is 17 respondents from pregnant women who experienced labor pain due to uterine contractions. Results:The results of the research showed that the majority of respondents, before the guided imagery was applied, the lavender aroma therapy combination showed a severe pain scale and after the guided imagery was applied, the lavender aroma therapy combination showed a moderate pain scale in the VK RSUD room. Prof. Dr. H. Aloei Saboe Gorontalo City. After carrying out the test using the Wilcoxon test, the P value = 0.005 with a significance level of <0.05 where P-Value=0.005 <0.05. Conclusion:Thus, it can be concluded that Ha was accepted, which means that there was an effect of implementing guided imagery therapy combined with lavender aroma therapy on first-stage mothers in the VK room at Prof. Hospital. Dr. H. Aloei Saboe Gorontalo City.

Abstract

Objective: Communication is an integral part of nursing skills. Comprehensive knowledge in this area is highly essential for a nurse. This research aims to explore nursing communication skills, barriers, and resolution strategies Methods: Literature review design. Using the PICO approach with specific keywords. Thirty-six journals were identified from online databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, Scopus, and ScienceDirect, covering both English and Indonesian language studies, including quantitative, qualitative, literature, and scoping reviews. Results: The findings of this research illustrate that effective communication encounters several obstacles, such as understaffing, heavy workloads, language and cultural disparities, hierarchical systems, insufficient training, and physical or psychological challenges. Proposed solutions for effective communication encompass understanding patient requirements, highlighting empathy, nurturing adaptability and patience, being responsive, ongoing learning and employing communication models, tackling cross-cultural concerns, utilizing technology, and advocating for interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure comprehensive patient care and smooth information exchange among healthcare professionals. Abstract

Free sex not only causes pregnancy and abortion, but also increasing a high risk of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. Knowledge of free sex is very essential for adolescents in minimizing the risk of having premarital sex. One solution to increase students’ knowledge about the dangers of sex is by providing health education through audiovisual method and flipbook media. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of audiovisual method and flipbook media on the level of knowledge in adolescents about the dangers of free sex. This study used a pre-experimental design one group pre-posttest design. The sample of this study was 35 adolescents obtained by total sampling technique. The data were collected using a questionnaire on the dangers of free sex. The independent variable in this study was the effect of health education with audiovisual method and flipbook media, while the dependent variable was the level of knowledge of the dangers of free sex. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon statistical test (p = 0.05), and it was obtained p = value 0.000. The results showed that before being given education about the dangers of free sex, most respondents (71.4%) had a poor level of knowledge, but after being given education about the dangers of free sex, most respondents (71.4%) had a good level of knowledge. It can be concluded that there is an effect of audiovisual health education method and flipbook media on the level of knowledge of the dangers of free sex in adolescents. With this effort, it is hoped that the audiovisual method and flipbook media can be implemented in reducing free sex in the community and at school. Keywords: Knowledge, adolescents, free sex

Abstract

Respiratory failure is the failure to provide oxygen to the entire body and the exchange of gases from the atmosphere to the blood. One of the treatments carried out in patients with respiratory failure is the installation of invasive or non-invasive mechanical ventilation. Weaning is a gradual process of reducing ventilator support carried out at the end of ventilator use. The weaning process can be successful or unsuccessful. This case report aims to discuss the inhibiting factors for weaning preparation in patients with mechanical ventilation with respiratory failure in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The design of this study uses the case report method to report the inhibiting factors for weaning preparation in patients with mechanical ventilation with respiratory failure in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). A patient, a 25-year-old man came to the hospital, was transferred to the ICU due to respiratory failure after urethroplasty surgery with a condition that was already intubated with an endotracheal tube and under sedation. On the 9th day of treatment in the weaning readiness monitor. Based on the results of the monitor, it was found that the patient had a history of asthma and infection so that the nurse carried out collaborative interventions so that the asthma he had was controlled and also prevented infection. In patients, it was found that there were inhibiting factors for weaning, namely comorbid diseases and infections. For the prevention of primary infection that can be done is to maintain hand and environmental hygiene.

The sample in this study was third trimester pregnant women at the Asparaga Community Health Center, totaling 15 respondents. Results: Based on the results of the study from 15 respondents, 12 respondents (80%) had moderate low back pain and 3 respondents (20%) had mild low back pain. Based on the results of the study from 15 respondents, 6 respondents (40%) had a moderate level of low back pain and 9 respondents (60%) had a mild level of low back pain with statistical results P-Value = 0.000. Conclusion: There is a significant change in the pain scale of 15 respondents which can be seen with a P-Value = 0.000 < 0.05, which means there is a significant effect after carrying out exercise for pregnant women in third trimester pregnant women.
