This study aimed to investigate studentsâ€™ lived experience of Quillbot utilization in academic writing. The qualitative phenomenology method was used in this study to dig deeper into studentsâ€™ lived experiences that they interpreted while using Quillbot. The result based on the data analysis showed some lived experiences that the students interpreted such as Quillbotâ€™s benefits and studentsâ€™ future use of Quillbot, studentsâ€™ perceptions of autonomy and assistance, studentsâ€™ ethical consideration when utilizing Quillbot, and studentsâ€™ adoption of Quillbotâ€™s suggestion. The results of this study also emphasized students' awareness that Quillbot is a supporting tool that cannot replace their writing skills. This study provides valuable insight into how students interact with Quillbot, how it influences their writing process, and broadens the perspective of teachers, lecturers, instructors, and the wider community who often consider AI to have negative impacts on studentsâ€™ learning process.

Writing skills are something that all teachers should be aware of. A business pamphlet is one of the writing assignments for economics and business students. This study aimed to determine the differences in the learning outcomes of economics and business students by applying the Canva application as an English learning tool to improve their writing skills. The research design used a quasi-experimental design. The research population is economics and business students for the 2022-2023 academic year. The research sample was taken using a saturated sampling technique with the experimental and control groups. The data analysis technique used is the analysis prerequisite test including the normality test and hypothesis testing. The results showed that the post-test average value of the experimental class students' learning outcomes was 81.94, and the control class was 77.34. The hypothesis testing results showed a significant difference between learning outcomes and student activity in the experimental group, which was better than the control group. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the application of the Canva application in learning activities to improve the writing skills of economic and business students which was applied to the experimental class had a significantly greater value than students in the control class using PPT software for learning activities and writing skills. In the learning process, lecturers can develop English learning by using learning applications that are more effective and interesting in improving English learning outcomes and studentsâ€™ writing skills in accordance with learning objectives.

The aim of this research is to open the door for writers to explore their public speaking in Indonesian culture, especially in the UAD campus environment. They detailed interactions with local students, participation in cultural activities, and learning about the traditions and values that underlie Indonesian society. In addition, the author also notes the positive influence that Indonesian culture has on their world perspective. The method used is a qualitative method. The results of this research show that the authors share their challenges and achievements in improving their English language skills. They evaluated how this experience improved their English and public speaking skills, which would be useful in the current context of globalization and provided insight into valuable cross-cultural and linguistic learning experiences through comparative study programs. It also underscores the importance of cultural exchange in opening up global understanding and developing language skills for students participating in such programs.

AbstractBenchmarking is an activity in education that is carried out to compare various aspects of two or more institutions within an educational institution, be it a school, university or other educational institution. The activity was carried out by a group of students from Muhammadiyah University, Tangerang, and Ahmad Dahlan University, Yogyakarta. In this comparative study activity, students took part in a workshop with the theme "Building a Relationship and Giving Experience for Each Other to Improve English Skill Performance". Using the observation method, the researcher explains the social and cultural in Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta is a popular tourist destination and university town, which leads to a wide range of linguistic and cultural variances brought about by the city's large immigrant and visitor populations. Both locals and visitors respect each other's culture and the way the people of Yogyakarta are cultured, despite the stark disparities in language, ethnicity, and customs.Keywords: Socio-cultural, facilities, benchmarking.

In this era of the 5.0 industrial revolution, the importance of communication skills in English is becoming more pronounced, including in the field of nursing. Speaking is one of the four core skills for effective communication in the English language. The purpose of this paper is to describe nursing studentsâ€™ experiences of using TikTok Application, a short-video sharing platform, as an alternative tool to help them practicing their speaking skills. The subjects of this study were 31 second-semester students of Nursing Study Program at a private University in Tangerang. The method used in this research was quasi-experimental approach with one group pretest-posttest design. The findings revealed that using the TikTok application can help students to improve their speaking skills significantly. In addition, they also gave positive responses toward using TikTok in learning English language as it could make them more relaxed and enjoyed while practicing their speaking skills.

Along with the development increasingly advanced human civilization, Oral traditions began to be pushed aside, some even became extinct from society. One of the traditions words whose extinction needs to be realized is a kasambu tradition that exists in the Muna tribal community. the author is very interested in discussing the traditions of the Muna tribe of Southeast Sulawesi and the moral values behind these traditions. This research is research qualitative with an ethnographic model. The source of the data is through the literature review source. Kasambu, as is known, is one of the many traditions that exist in Indonesia The Muna ethnic group certainly has a very important role in social life. This tradition still exists today adhered to, complied with and implemented by some Muna society, even in contemporary times has started to experience a shift, like use of sando services during childbirth replaced by medical personnel (midwife or doctor).

This study investigates the perceptions of career development among English language students. The study focuses on the interest of Muhammadiyah Tangerang University students who participated in workshop activities at Ahmad Dahlan University. The research was conducted through observation and questionnaires, and a total of 20 students were surveyed. The results of our observations indicate that 96% of the surveyed students had a positive perception of the benefits of the study tour to Jogja in supporting their careers based on their interests. Out of the 20 students surveyed, 80% expressed an interest in public speaking and opted for practical methods to develop their skills. The study's findings offer valuable insights into how educational institutions can better prepare their students to face the challenges of the constantly evolving world of work. The study presents practical training practices for students in various skills relevant to the tourismÂ industry.

Listening is an essential skill to develop, especially for second-language learners. It is regarded as one of the difficultÂ things to learn. This study investigates the usage of podcasts in the listening comprehension skills of EFL students. This research used a pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test design on students at SMPN 229 Jakarta. The research sample consisted of 33 students in grade 9. The Wilcoxon sign rank test is used in the research as a quantitative way to assess data statistically. According to the findings, the usage of podcasts influences students' listening comprehension skills, with substantial statistical variations between the pre-test and post-test.

This study investigates the impact of gamification features within Microsoft Teams applications on language learning experiences. This study employs a mixed-methods approach to investigate the research questions comprehensively. The participants in this study will be 121 English Language Learners (ELLs) enrolled in virtual language classrooms. A diverse sample of ELLs from different proficiency levels and backgrounds will be recruited to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the impact of gamification. The findings of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests conducted on pre-tests and post-tests indicate notable changes in motivation levels following exposure to gamification. Specifically, the pre-test and post-test scores of ELLs in the experimental group (EG) exposed to gamification demonstrate a higher mean difference than those in the control group (CG) without gamification elements. The Gamification Group demonstrated a significantly higher mean score in Microsoft Team Gamification Learning Strategies, indicating a more robust engagement with gamified language learning activities within the Teams platform. The thematic analysis of participant responses highlights the specific gamification elements that play a crucial role in enhancing language fluency. The particular Microsoft Teams application that is most influential in gamification for language learning is the application. The survey findings reveal strong agreement among participants regarding the positive impact of various gamification elements integrated into the Microsoft Teams gamification application. The findings underscore the potential of gamification in transforming language learning experiences and promoting active engagement within virtual language classrooms. By leveraging gamification strategies effectively, educators and instructional designers can create immersive and interactive learning environments that facilitate language acquisition and proficiency development among English LanguageÂ

The use of AI in language education has been widely discussed especially in identifying the teachersâ€™ ability in utilizing AI in language teaching as well as how teachers perceive the utilization of AI are significant. To address these needs, the researchers used a TPACK survey instrument and semi-structured interview to assess 6 English teachers' ability to use AIEd at Islamic University of Ahmad Dahlan. Findings show that there are several challenges faced by the users of AIEd in English language courses such as (1) limited technological knowledge, (2) lack of training, (3) limited access to technological resources, (4) student skill levels, (5) policy and administrative constraints, as well as (6) curriculum changes and needs. Overall, the application of AIEd in language teaching in UIAD has the potential to significantly enhance learning outcomes for English learners by providing personalized, adaptive, and engaging learning experiences supported by data-driven insights and continuous improvement.
