Abstract

This study aims to determine the description of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) in the 2022 Faculty of Medicine students of Tarumanagara University. The research method used a descriptive approach with a cross-sectional design. Data were collected through an online questionnaire filled out by 167 respondents. The results showed that most students have implemented PHBS well, such as defecation behavior (100%), hand washing (88%), and nail hygiene (89.8%). However, there are still shortcomings in the selection of healthy snacks (47.3% of bad behavior) and the frequency of physical activity (88% less than 5 times/week). Most respondents had also participated in mosquito nets eradication (59.3%) and had high awareness of the dangers of smoking (97% did not smoke). The conclusion of this study shows that although the majority of students have implemented PHBS well, further education is still needed, especially in the aspect of choosing healthy snacks and increasing physical activity.

Abstract

Estimated Fetal Weight is one of the important indicators in monitoring fetal growth during pregnancy. In addition to biological factors, the health services received by pregnant women and BPJS membership classes are suspected to have influenced TBJ. This study aimed to analyze the effect of health service coverage and BPJS classes on TBJ in pregnant women. This study uses a cross-sectional design with a retrospective approach. Data was taken from the medical records of 152 pregnant women participating in BPJS who were treated at two regional hospitals in South Kalimantan during 2024. The variables analyzed included the mother's age, education, gestational age, BPJS class, and the number of service types received. Data analysis was conducted using the chi-square test and logistic regression. The results of the analysis showed that gestational age, parity, and BPJS class had a meaningful relationship with TBJ. From the logistic regression analysis, the level of education (p = 0.034; OR = 0.580) and gestational age (p = 0.020; OR = 0.577) had a significant effect on TBJ. Although not statistically significant, the type of service showed the highest odds ratio value (OR = 2.108), indicating that the more types of services received, the greater the chances of TBJ being in the normal category. TBJ is influenced by educational factors, gestational age, and BPJS classes attended by pregnant women. Improving the quality and equitable distribution of health services, especially for low-class BPJS participants, is very important to support optimal fetal growth.

The working area of North Banjarmasin District includes 10 Banjarmasin sub-districts, including especially the Sungai Andai Health Center, which is one of the five main health centers in North Banjarmasin district. Based on data from the Banjarmasin City Health Office, in 2022 there were 5 cases of dengue patients, in 2023 there were 9 cases of dengue patients with a time span from January to April 2023. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the use of fogging and risk factors for the incidence of dengue. This type of research is an analytical survey research using a cross sectional design. The population of this study is the entire community in Sungai Andai Village, which totals 9,172 heads of families in 2023. The sample of this study was 100 respondents by using accidental sampling, namely sample selection based on coincidence at the time of data collection. Test statistics using the Chi Square Test. The results of this study showed that there was a relationship between gender, mosquito repellent use, fogging and knowledge requests with the incidence of dengue (P-value < ( = 0.05). ) and there was no relationship between the use of mosquito nets and the incidence of dengue in the Sungai Andai Village Working area. It is recommended to the public to further increase efforts to eradicate mosquito nests (PSN) and monitor larvae regularly and thoroughly.

Abstract

Hypertension in elderly is often accompanied by cognitive and functional decline affecting quality of life. Brain gym as a non-pharmacological intervention potentially addresses these issues through neuroplasticity stimulation. Objective this research to analyze the effects of brain gym on blood pressure, functional status, and cognitive function in elderly with hypertension. A quantitative quasi-experimental pretest-posttest one group design study involving 15 hypertensive elderly in Banjar Regency. Brain gym intervention was conducted for 3 times/week for 3 weeks, 30 minutes/session. Measurements used digital sphygmomanometer, Barthel Index, and MMSE. Data were analyzed using Paired t-test and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Significant reduction in systolic blood pressure (162.93 to 148.33 mmHg, p=0.000) and diastolic blood pressure (100.60 to 90.87 mmHg, p=0.001) occurred. Functional status improved significantly (Z=-2.236; p=0.025) and cognitive function showed significant improvement (Z=-2.646; p=0.008) with 93.3% respondents achieving intact intellectual function. Brain gym effectively reduces blood pressure and improves functional and cognitive status in hypertensive elderly.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between gadget use duration and the risk of speech delay in children aged 2-5 years at Puskesmas Grogol, Jakarta, from December 2024 to February 2025. A cross-sectional study involved 45 children selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire for gadget use duration and the Pre-Developmental Screening Questionnaire (KPSP) to assess speech delay risk, analyzed with the Spearman correlation test. Results showed a significant association between gadget use duration and speech delay risk (p = 0.035, p < 0.05), with 48.9% of children using gadgets for more than 2 hours daily at risk of speech delay. Excessive gadget use may hinder children’s language development. This study recommends parental supervision in regulating gadget use time and enhancing verbal stimulation to support children’s speech development.
