Abstract

Research related to chatbots in vocational campus environments in Indonesia has not been widely conducted. Since the release of Chatbot GPT at the end of 2023 followed by other chatbots, the use of chatbots in the daily lives of academics has become increasingly massive, despite concerns about the impact of their use if carried out without rules. This study aims to determine the perceptions of academics regarding AI Chatbots and their interest in using them, as well as the relationship between perceptions and interests in using AI Chatbots. The academics involved were Lecturers, students, Staff/Education Staff/PLP and Librarians totaling 157 people from 6 health vocational campuses located in the South Kalimantan region. This type of research is quantitative using a descriptive correlative design with a cross-sectional approac The results of the study showed that the assessment of the perceptions of respondents who were dominated by women with an age range of less than 20 years was "Moderate and Good" as well as in terms of interest in using AI chatbots. There is a significant correlation between the two variables. Thus, the potential for using chatbots in the future is increasingly wide open, and is expected to provide a positive contribution to the development of prospective health workers in the future. Further research can be conducted to measure the influence and use of AI chatbot technology in the development of Human Resources in academic communities of health vocational campuses.

Abstract

Introduction: Premature rupture of membranes (KPD) refers to the amniotic sac rupture before the onset of labor. It occurs in approximately 10% of pregnancies, with 7% in term and 3% in preterm pregnancies. While KPD itself does not directly cause maternal death, it is a significant precursor to infections that can lead to maternal and fetal mortality. Current diagnostic methods for KPD primarily utilize synthetic litmus paper to detect pH changes. However, natural alternatives such as turmeric, a traditional plant-based pH indicator, offer a promising and cost-effective solution. Turmeric contains coumarin, a compound with litmus-like properties, enabling it to identify KPD by reacting with acidic amniotic fluid. Materials and Method: This experimental study was conducted at Sultan Suriansyah Hospital, Banjarmasin City, between January and July 2024. The participants included pregnant women identified as being at risk of KPD. The study explored the efficacy of pantyliners infused with turmeric extract as a diagnostic tool for KPD detection. Results: The findings revealed a significant correlation (ρ < α 0.05) between the color change in turmeric-infused pantyliners and KPD diagnosis. This demonstrates the potential of turmeric-infused pantyliners as a reliable and efficient detection tool for KPD. Discussion/Suggestions: With a diagnostic accuracy of 90%, turmeric-infused pantyliners present a non-invasive, accessible method for early KPD detection. Further studies are recommended to optimize pantyliner formulations, particularly those containing curcumin, and to conduct extensive clinical trials on larger populations.

Abstract

Family is an important aspect in improving public health and the entry point in providing health services in the community and plays a role in improving public health. While in South Kalimantan, only 24.2% of families are considered healthy. This study aims to assess the effect of home visits by nurses on the level of independence and fulfillment of family health tasks with non-communicable diseases. The study was conducted in the Working Area of Martapura 1 Health Center and Martapura 2 Health Center, Banjar Regency. The sample of this study was 20 families with non-communicable diseases selected using purposive sampling techniques. The results of the research analysis with Wilcoxon showed that home visits had an effect on the level of family independence and fulfillment of family health tasks with a p value of 0.00 <0.05. This indicates the need to increase the implementation of home visits by nurses in increasing the level of family independence and fulfillment of family health tasks with non-communicable diseases in Indonesia.

Abstract

Background: Loss of limbs due to amputation can cause physical limitations for an individual to carry out activities in daily life. This limitation reduces the level of independence of an individual. The decreased level of independence has an impact on the level of self-confidence due to obstacles in carrying out an activity or goal. Efforts that can be made to increase the self-confidence of transtibial amputation patients are by installing a transtibial prosthesis or axilla crutch which can help mobility. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the effect of using a transtibial prosthesis and axilla crutch on the level of self-confidence. Method: This study was conducted in December 2023 with a descriptive qualitative approach using data analysis, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Results: The results of observations and interviews using self-confidence indicators, namely believing in one's own abilities, being able to do activities without the help of others, having a positive self-concept and daring to express feelings that are felt, which were carried out on two informants, showed that the presence of this transtibial prosthesis was able to foster a new spirit to carry out activities as before. Conclusion: From this study it can be concluded that there is a better effect of using a transtibial prosthesis compared to an axillary crutch.

Abstract

This review aims to explore the impact of chemical contaminants other than nitrates, including nitrites, lead, mercury, and arsenic, on the risk of blue baby syndrome or methemoglobinemia in infants, as well as to identify the synergistic effects of multi-contaminant exposure. A literature search was performed on prominent scientific databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, for articles published between 2010 and 2024. The review method involved selecting and assessing study quality using the JBI Critical Appraisal Tools. Extracted data included the chemical parameters studied, study design, sample size, and main outcomes. Meta-analysis was performed using a random-effects model to calculate odds ratios (OR) and relative risks (RR), as well as to evaluate heterogeneity between studies. From the 35 studies analyzed, the meta-analysis revealed that exposure to nitrites, lead, mercury, and arsenic significantly increased the risk of methemoglobinemia in infants. The results showed an OR of 4.8 (95% CI: 3.2-6.7) for nitrites, 3.5 (RR) (95% CI: 2.4-5.0) for lead, 2.9 (95% CI: 2.1-4.3) for mercury, and 3.9 (95% CI: 2.5-6.1) for arsenic. Furthermore, the combination of multi-contaminant exposure resulted in an OR of 6.5 (95% CI: 4.1-8.7) and demonstrated significant heterogeneity. This study highlights that chemical contaminants other than nitrates, including nitrites, lead, mercury, and arsenic, make a significant contribution to the increased risk of blue baby syndrome. The importance of comprehensive drinking water quality management and strict regulations on contaminant exposure is strongly emphasized.
