Abstract

Hypertension is a disease with high prevalence, so it can affect a person's quality of life and productivity. This disease has killed 9.4 million people worldwide each year. In South Kalimantan Province, hypertension is the third highest cause of maternal mortality, with a figure of 23%. The purpose of this study was to analyze the determinant factors of hypertension in Banjarbaru City. This study was conducted in the Health Center Area in Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan. The population used was all Banjarbaru residents who had hypertension, and while the sampling technique used was random sampling, the research sample was 50 people who had hypertension. Statistical results obtained that several things that can be determinant factors in hypertension sufferers are age category (p-value: 0.025), genetic factors (p-value: 0.040), nutritional status (p-value: 0.003), coffee consumption patterns (p-value: 0.031), vegetable consumption patterns (p-value: 0.034), salt consumption patterns (p-value: 0.006), sleep patterns (p-value: 0.001), stress levels (p-value: 0.041), exercise habits (p-value: 0.000), comorbidities (p-value: 0.031), and compliance with taking medication (p-value: 0.000). It is hoped that this can be the basis for a cooperation program for all parties in designing rules and policies for early prevention of hypertension

Abstract

In old age, various issues may arise, one of which is elderly depression. The prevalence of elderly depression in Central Java among individuals aged 55 to 64 years is 4.25%, those aged 65 to 74 years is 4.41%, and those aged over 75 years is 5.65% (Riskesdas, 2018). Family support is crucial for the elderly as they age. This literature review study aims to examine the relationship between family support and depression in the elderly. This study employs a literature review method using search databases such as Google Scholar and PubMed. The keywords used include “family support,” “family,” “depression,” “elderly depression,” and “elderly.” This study identified 11 articles for analysis. The analysis of several articles indicates that strong family support can help reduce depression in the elderly. Adequate support, including affection, attention, and sufficient facilities from the family, contributes to a sense of security and comfort, which ultimately improves the elderly’s mental well-being. The results of this literature review are expected to encourage family members to always provide support to the elderly.

Abstract

Schizophrenia psychiatric disorder is characterized by the emergence of delusions, hallucinations, and the inability to distinguish between reality and fantasy. In the acute phase, people with schizophrenia can experience agitation that can endanger themselves and those around them. Rapid-acting antipsychotics with minimal side effects are needed in treating acute agitation in schizophrenia patients. Haloperidol is a first-generation antipsychotic that acts on dopamine D2 receptors, which helps reduce positive and negative symptoms. Haloperidol has been widely used for the treatment of acute agitation because of its rapid effects, but the prevalence of extrapyramidal symptoms is relatively high. Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine with anticholinergic activity used to treat extrapyramidal symptoms. Several guidelines recommend the use of diphenhydramine as a pharmacological therapy for extrapyramidal symptoms, but in practice, psychiatry provides diphenhydramine together with haloperidol as prophylaxis. This combination helps treat acute agitation, where haloperidol can reduce symptoms of schizophrenia, and diphenhydramine can provide sedation and treatment of extrapyramidal symptoms. The challenge in managing acute agitation in schizophrenia patients continues due to drug side effects. A better understanding of the pathophysiology of schizophrenia is expected to produce effective pharmacological therapy alternatives in treating acute agitation

Abstract

The progress and development of the industrial revolution has brought enormous influence and change in human life. Edward Barbier in 1989 coined the idea of a green economy or Green Economy, where one of its implementations is Green Technology. The purpose of this research is to describe the integration of Islamic values and health in Green Technology. This research design is qualitative with a library research approach. The main data sources are the Qur'an, Hadith, books and journals and articles related to the theme. To achieve the accuracy of the analysis results, triangulation of the analyzed data is carried out by involving experts who are in accordance with their expertise. The results of the analysis concluded that Islamic values, namely the values of the Qur'an and Hadith and health values, are very significant to be integrated in the innovation and development of Green Technology in order to produce technology that fulfills human welfare, conserves nature and natural resources and is worthy of worship.

Abstract

Air pollution is a global environmental problem that has the potential to have a negative impact on children's cognitive development. Scientific evidence suggests that exposure to air pollution, both during the prenatal and postnatal periods, is associated with neurodevelopmental disorders. This systematic literature review aims to synthesize scientific evidence on the influence of air pollution exposure on children's cognitive development, highlighting the prenatal period and school age. Literature searches were conducted through various scientific databases with keywords related to air pollution and children's cognitive development. The studies included in this review are longitudinal and cross-sectional studies published in the last ten years. The results of the review showed that exposure to air pollution, both during pregnancy and childhood, could negatively impact IQ, working memory, attention, and other neurological development. Some studies had also explored the socioeconomic and environmental factors that contribute to children's vulnerability to the harmful effects of air pollution. These studies emphasize the need for interventing to reduce pollution exposure and improve children's health. This evidence confirms the importance of mitigation efforts to reduce exposure to air pollution in pregnant women and children to support optimal cognitive development. More research is needed to understand the biological mechanisms as well as their long-term impacts.

Abstract

Stroke is a cerebrovascular disease that increases mortality and long-term disability globally. The incidence of stroke in South Kalimantan reaches 12.7% of all stroke incidents in Indonesia. Stroke most often occurs at the age of 55-64 years and 29.5% occurs in people with low education. Patients with post-stroke are very susceptible to post-stroke depression (PSD), To minimize the risk of PSD in non-pharmacological strategies such as increasing literacy, mental and physical health support. Increasing literacy can be done with health education. The design of this study used a quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest one group test design. The research sample was 20 stroke respondents with a purposive sampling technique. The questionnaire used for stroke literacy used SKAT and PSD used the PHQ-9 questionnaire sheet. The results of this study showed an increase in stroke literacy with a p value of 0.001 and a decrease in PSD with a p value of 0.002.

Abstract

Implementation of Evidence-Based Midwifery and Environmental Health Impact on Brain Health of Children Aged 24–36 Months. This study aims to analyze the effect of environmental quality on brain health of children aged 24–36 months through an evidence-based midwifery approach. A cross-sectional design was used with 40 mother–child pairs from Astambul Public Health Center. Data were collected via interviews, observation, anthropometric measurement, and developmental screening using the KPSP questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Chi-square and odds ratio. The findings revealed that housing quality did not significantly affect child growth (p=0.498) but had a highly significant relationship with child development (p=0.004; OR=1.93). There was also a near-significant association between housing quality and brain health (p=0.056; OR=4.60) at 95% confidence level (a=0.05) . These results highlight the importance of a supportive living environment for optimal brain development in early childhood. The study recommends integrating evidence-based midwifery with environmental health interventions to optimize early childhood growth and development.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the geolocation of hypertension in the Sungai Martapura pinggiran, specifically in Sungai Rangas Ulu and Sungai Rangas Hambuku. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey design. About 90 respondents were selected using a simple random sampling method, and the data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using the Hypertenstrack application. The results indicate that the prevalence of hypertension is not consistent in the relevant area, indicating that it is present in every study area. This highlights the importance of universal health interventions, not just those based on risky locations. In addition, risk factors like lanjut usage, unhealthy eating habits, and a lack of physical activity are also considered to be contributing factors to dominance. This geospatial information can serve as a foundation for more accurate and timely promotion and prevention efforts.

Abstract

Low back pain (LBP) is a common condition among high school students as a result of lazy sitting and non-ergonomic posture. The purpose of this study was to understand the relationship between sitting posture and sitting duration with NPB in students of SMAN 1 Martapura. Using a quantitative correlational analysis design, data were collected through questionnaires assessing sitting posture, sitting duration, pain symptoms, physical activity, and trauma. The results showed a significant relationship between gender (p=0.041), trauma (p=0.001), physical activity (p=0.045), and pain frequency (p=0.000) with NPB. However, there was no significant relationship between body weight, BMI, sitting duration, and sitting posture. The majority of students experienced mild to moderate pain, predominantly female, with irregular physical activity. This study emphasizes the importance of an active lifestyle and ergonomics education from school age to prevent NPD.
