This journal serves as a means and medium of communication that is used by researchers, lecturers, teachers, students, and practitioners to examine education and Islamic thought. Abstract

Modernization of educational boarding school, as a public institution such as agriculture, fishery or other institutions around boarding schools area have aroused the boarding school identity of as an educational institution for tafaqquh fi Al-Din and producing scholars. According to Azra, the boarding schools should provide an appreciation of all the developments taking place in the present and future that can produce knowledgeable scholars. Entering general sciences in the boarding school curriculums have caused problems in epistemology that is how exactly to explain the empirical sciences or secular sciences systematically. According to, Azyumardi Azra, the idea of orientation boarding schools on modern curriculum may need to be revise because these ideas will give the negative affect at the existence of the basic boarding school tasks. Azra expect that schools should be oriented towards to improve the quality of its student’s mastery of Islamic religious sciences. Using strict and rigid methodologies in the curriculum system that promotes cognitive mastery only, according to Azra it can cause the result in the formation process of the student’s character and personality have been ignored. Azra expect the boarding school retains its methodology is towards taklim and takdib learning, so that it can shape students to be a pious Muslim.

Abstract

Patterns and change management as well as the improvement of educational management schools are the decisive factors for the success of the education program. So that schools as social transformation necessary to hold a perfection as was done by LPI Maktuba Al-Majidiyah which include 1) use old patterns and new patterns, 2) there is no conflict with the dynamics of social change society, 3) adjust to the social needs are growing day more advanced, 4) set up a pattern of education which is matched with the social state of today's society. There are some obstacles encountered in the implementation of Islamic boarding schools as a social transformation in LPI Maktuba Al-Majidiyah is a) internal and external constraints, b) the infrastructure Constraints , c) the intelligent of human resource Constraints, d) Constraints of cooperation with guardians of students sometimes they disobey. There are some the steps is taken to overcome the obstacles faced in educational boarding school as a social transformation in LPI Maktuba Al-Majidiyah is a) Conduct the evaluation of education programs on a regular basis, or even incidental to rely requirement, b) Attempts to complement the educational facilities that are likely to support the implementation of educational activities, c) Conducting PBM adapted to the circumstances and the ability of the child or learner, d) Conducting socialization to the guardians of students so that they support and do not disobey the regulation that have been agreed upon agency.

Abstract

The modernization era, the existence of traditional boarding school be questionable of many parties about the relevance to be retained. In exception of the advantages education systems of the traditional boarding school, make it is able to survive and remain necessary in the modernization era. However, there are a number of modernization challenges are faced by schools today, one of them is going to meet the demands of skilled personnel in modern life sectors. In connection with this, schools are expected to contribute the human resources needed in modern life. Therefore, schools need to make change, especially concerning the provision of education that can still survive in the future. Of course the change was to stick to the rules "al-muhâfazhatu 'ala al-Qadim al-Salihwa al-akhdzu bi al-Jadid al-ashlah" (maintaining the good things that have been there and develop new things are better). The boarding school‟s development in the future can be carried out by a traditional boarding school that are not absolute. Efforts are made by the way of advance boarding identify with both of its assets, and then develop a modern way without changing the original boarding school shape. It requires a very creative and full of wise efforts, in addition it should be began by raising awareness that the change is very decisive, useful, and important.

Abstract

General science (science) growing rapidly while the decline of Islamic science, which in the end came the dichotomy between the two disciplines. Not only here but there are also the secularization of science. But secularization of science has been challenged by the Church. Awarding a penalty to the scientists who dare to be different views with the Church to trigger the birth of science that separates itself from religious doctrine. This condition motivates Muslim scholars try hard to re-integrate science and religion. Thinking about integration or the Islamization of science today is carried out by Muslim intellectuals, can not be separated from religious awareness. In totality amid hectic global world that is loaded with the progress of science and technology. Real science is the result of a human reading the verses of Allah, losing the dimension of spirituality, then berkembangkanlah science or science that has no connection with religion. It is not surprising then that the science and technology that should benefit as much as possible for human life turned out to be a tool used for temporary interest that it be a "cause" adverse human calamity. To achieve these objectives it is necessary to do an effort to integrate general sciences with the Islamic sciences, general sciences that are not value free or secular. Interdisciplinary approach and inter connectivity between the disciplines of religion and the public need to be built and developed continuously without unrelenting.

Abstract

The culture of science (hadaroh al-ilm) is built on the foundation of the workings of the reasoning of the burhani, while the fiqh culture (hadaroh al-fiq) is built upon the authority of the text, and philosophical culture (hadaroh al-philosophy) is built upon the coherence of logical arguments. The specialization of rigid Islamic scientists no longer appeals to the generation of contemporary Islamic studies reviewers and thinkers as it requires multi and interdisciplinary to develop and enrich the insights of Islamic science as well as to unravel the exclusiveness, clarity and rigidity of the discipline of religious scholars living within the narrow chambers of epistimology and institutions. The scientific paradigm of each science possessed and a bit of social nuance and its humanity is underestimated, if that is the case then the result is not enrichment and development, at least there are three clusters of epistemology of Islam ie epistemology bayani, irfani and logic burhani is a unique epistemology device in The development of Islamic studies to be used as a reference both by scientists and educational practitioners who are concerned about Islamic religious scholarship.

Abstract

Educational technology is defined as a design of learning that is designed by using certain methods and presented with various learning tools intended to facilitate learning. Learning media are all sesuau that can channel messages that can stimulate the mind, persaaan, attention, and willingness of students so as to encourage the happening of the process bejar to students. Learning technology began to emerge in line with the development of education that gave birth to the educational revolution. The educational revolution took place at four stages of the revolution. The first revolution occurs when parents are unable to provide education to their children so they have to entrust to a teacher, both because teachers have the desire to provide education to many students at once so that the occurrence of classical learning, the third occurs when teachers have the desire to provide education to many students at the same time in a shorter time because learners are equipped with learning materials. This revolution occurs when the development of advanced technology began rapidly, then the teacher wanted to use it for the purposes of education with the aim that learning bias done quickly and efficiently with students equipped with the expertise to use various technologies to prepare independent students.

Abstract

Educational innovation aims to solve educational problems and function as novelties for a person or group (community), in an effort to achieve educational goals. Abstract

For about 15 centuries ago, Islamic history has portrayed the face of the true condition of Islamic education, not only describes the reality of past events, but also serves as a guide for the next generation, in order to make a better footing. Basically, with the coming of Islam in this archipelago, because one of them through education, beside through trade and marriage. The role and gait of Islamic education in seizing and uniting the archipelago into a country that is currently called Indonesia of course very much. Thus, in this paper, the author reveals a bit about the history of Islamic education in the old order, the new order and even during the current order of reform. The state has enormous power in governing and running the wheels of government, including in the world of Islamic education, so, the condition of Islamic education from the time of kemasanya have position and even a very different portion of the government which then has implications for the implementation of Islamic education.

Abstract

The more the spirit of study of the Qur'an is increasing, so the spirit of studying the Qur'an is never lost, For that, learning knowledge about the Qur'an should be given to all students, ranging from the level of childhood to they mature later. On the other hand, character education that is currently being promoted and developed by the government is an education that prioritizes the behavior of good morality. The education of this character emerges and rises to the surface is a reaction to the advancement of pedagogig (education) naturalistic and instrumentalism. al-Qur'an that in essence already covers the whole aspects of life, including also the education, so that can be interpreted by studying the Qur'an means the same as improving the character of each child itself. The phenomenon in Madrasah Diniyah in his learning process emphasizes more on religious teaching sessions, as well as the education of the Qur'an, and as the pattern of association of students, that they are in daily life more prioritizes the manners that is already one of the characteristics of has in character education . For that, at a glance the authors assume that character education is an application of education of the Qur'an that they have learned so far.

Abstract

The scientific approach is an innovative learning process designed specifically for students to actively construct the concept of knowledge through several processes or stages by observing to perform an identification of a problem, and from the results of the observation students are expected to be able to formulate the problem dilajutkan by formulating hypotheses, collect data with various techniques, and analyze data, and draw conclusions and communicate concepts, laws or principles that are "discovered". The application of a scientific approach in learning will involve the skills of the process of observing, classifying, measuring, predicting, explaining, and then concluding. With this saintific approach, it is expected that students will be happy to participate in learning activities and can improve their learning motivation to follow the learning process and will ultimately have an impact on their learning achievement. Motivational factors can be said to be key to understanding the process of self-adjustment, motivation as well as emotional infrastructure needs which are internal forces that cause tension and imbalance in organisms. In general, motivation will not arise, but motivation will rise if there is a great interest, the learning process will work well if all students have a great interest in following the learning process.
