JIPES (Journal of Indonesian Physical Education and Sport) is international and multidisciplinary journal that designed to stimulate and communicate high scholarly inquiry related to physical education activities and sports. The JIPES aims to publish articles and news features reflecting items of theoretical, applied, and professional interest drawn in physical education and sports. In particular, the JIPES will seek to emphasize articles that advance best practice in the areas of physical education and sports. JIPES articles publish with vital research regarding physical performance of individuals with intellectual disabilities, adults with traumatic brain injuries, international perspectives on the definition of adapted physical activity, the responsibilities and training needs of educators in physical education, competence satisfaction, and the effects of sport participation on the sport skills and physical self of adolescents. The emphasis is on informative articles of interest for teachers of Health and Physical Education encompassing curriculum in schools, junior sport, nutrition, fitness and physical activity, and insights into future ways of motivating children and young people to be active and health

Abstract

AbstractShooting in a basketball game plays an important role in achieving the goal of the basketball game. Given that the basketball game tip is to insert the ball into the opponent's basket, therefore a good shooting technique is owned by every bolabasket player. Efforts to improve basketball shooting skills by using a basketball shooting practice model through a combination approach. The model combines shooting and physical engineering components supporting shooting techniques and using dill and games methods. The purpose of this research is to test the effectiveness of basket ball shooting practice model through combination approach. The research approach used is quantitative. This type of research is an experiment with randomized control group pre-test post-test design. The population of this study was a total of basketball players in Pasuruan District, the sample of this study amounted to 120 with 60 as the experimental group and 60 players as the control group. The data retrieval used is battery test shooting. Data analysis technique using t-test. The results showed that basketball shooting practice model through combination approach can improve basketball shooting ability with t-count value 33,262> t-table 2,00. So it can be concluded that the model of basketball shooting practice is effective against improving the shooting ability of basketball players.Keywords: Basketball Shooting, Combination Approach, Training Model.

Abstract

The purpose of this research are; (1) develop fundamental movement based learning using water games for children 5-6 years and (2) obtain empirical data on the effectiveness of the results of model development fundamental movement based learning using water games for children aged 5-6 years. Subjects in this study were children aged 5-6 years in kindergarten. Place of research conducted in the city of Palembang. This study is the development of the Research and Development of Borg and Gall. Product results of the research is a fundamental movement guidebook using water games. Research shows that: (1) the development of fundamental movement based learning using water games for children aged 5-6 years have been declared invalid by a motor learning, physical activity experts and practitioners of early childhood education, (2) fundamental movement based learning using water games proved 85% can improve fundamental skills and helps to build a sense of confidence and courage.Keywords: fundamental movement, water games, children aged 5-6 years.

Abstract

AbstractThe objective of this research is to evaluate Program Regional Training Center (PELATDA) PON XIX South Sulawesi. This is a qualitative and quantitative research with evaluation approach using Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) model. Methods of collecting data in triangulation using questionnaires, interviews, document studies and observation. The result shows that: (1) Context Evaluation: having strong government policies, objectives and targets are well manifested, with an analysis of conditions that need to be improved, as well as a good strategy. (2) Input Evaluation; Excellent athlete and coach resources while for nutrition and medical teams has not been well implemented, funding, transparency and fund accountability need to be improved, adequate facilities and infrastructure support, and good cooperation between stakeholders and provincial branches of sport. (3) Process Evaluation; The training plan is well executed, the implementation of the training still needs to be improved, the nutritional and medical demands are not maximal, and the implementation of evaluation and monitoring still need to be optimally implemented. (4) Product Evaluation; Increasing physical condition, psychology and athletic health, but the medal achievement on PON XIX in West Java did not reach the target charged by Koni South Sulawesi Province. It can be recommended that Regional Training Center Program (PELATDA) PON XIX South Sulawesi is very disappointing because it does not reach the target of rank VI, so it is advisable to build synergy between the Government, Koni and Board of Sport Branch and Private Parties in improving the maximum Sport Achievement in South Sulawesi Province.Keywords: Program Evaluation, Regional Training Center (Pelatda), PON XIX

Abstract

Abstract Based on preliminary observations conducted on teachers and students of SMP Negeri in Malang Regency: (1) students can not and do not like the material gymnastics floor, and tend to like the material of big ball game (92%); (2) students state that educators have never done teaching with media in the form of interactive multimedia, 100%; and (3) students agree when done an development of interactive multimedia media for learning basic technique of gymnastic floor 100%. The purpose of this research and development is to develop an effective model of basic techniques of floor gymnastics for junior high school students using interactive multimedia. In this study is using development research methods from Borg and Gall (1983: 775), and researchers did not use the whole but only using 7 steps. The 7 steps chosen by the researchers are as follows: (1) collecting information, (2) initial product design, (3) expert evaluation, (4) trial in phase I , (5) product revision (6) trials in phase II, (7) revisions and final products. Based on the result of data analysis of the evaluation of the learning expert is very valid, the evaluation of expert gymnastics is very valid, the evaluation of media expert is very valid. From the data analysis result of small group trial is valid enough (73,1% ), while large group trial is very valid (85,75%), thus it can be concluded that the development of interactive multimedia-based floor gymnastic basic technique for junior high school student can be used. Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the sport of tennis for The Indonesia Program for Gold Medal) or Program Indonesia Emas PRIMA), which is an evaluation study using model context, input, process, product and outcomes (CIPPO). Research shows that: 1) context evaluation is good – it has a purpose, the legal basis and the analysis of an adequate community; 2) Input evaluation is enough - has a mechanism of selection of athletes, coaches and managers, but need more socializations. The program needs some improvements such as; support facilities and infrastructure, national tennis training centre, adequate financial support, the necessity in involving the private and government enterprise; 3) Proccess evaluation is enough - planning and supervision of training has been well developed, but the implementation was not optimum, needs sport science embedded at the Team, and need more participation in international tournament; 4) Product evaluation is very bad - achievement of both as a Team and Individual athlete at the international multi event was not satisfied; 5) Outcomes evaluation is very good - this program provide more participation and opportunity for junior athletes. Therefore, I would like to recommend that this program should be extended with some improvement as research suggested.Keyword: Program Evaluation, CIPPO Model, The Indonesia Program for Gold Medal on Sport of Tennis.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find the effectiveness of teaching style to the learning outcomes of passing motor skills under the volleyball. The Method is Used by experiment with 2 x 3 factorial design. This research is Implemented at SMPN 3 Satu Atap Labura with sample of class VIII. Abstract

The experimental study is aimed to find out comparison of the effect of two training methods upon skills of snatch. The training method consists of both weight and plyometric training method. This research also aimed to find out interaction between training method and balance toward skill of snatch. The balance consists of both high and low balance. This research was carried out in Faculty of Sport Science, State University of Manado, in the academic year of 2012/2013. The experimental method using factorial design 2x2. The sample consisted of 40 students divided into four groups, each consisting of 10 students. The analyzing techniques of data were two-way analyses of variance (ANOVA) and further continued by Tukey test at α= .05 level significance. The result of this research shows that (1) in general, skill of snatch using weight training method is higher than those using plyometric training method, (2) for high balance using weight training method is higher than those plyometric training method, (3) for low balance using weight training and plyometric training method are not different at α= .05 level significance, (4) there is interaction between training method and balance toward skill of weight lifting snatch.

Abstract

This research aims to produce a balance learning model for elementary school age. This study used Research & Development (R&D) method. Instrument used in this research is balance a Modified Test of Dynamic Balance applied to collect data in children of elementary school age. Those step are: (1) need analysis, (2) expert justment; (3) limited trial (small group trial); and (4) main trial (field testing). Effectiveness of implementation of balance learning model in children of elementary school age using sample of 70 students by "t-test” techniqe. Pre test and post test were obtained the average result of pre test of 39,85 and average post test 68,42. The total of pre test and post test was 28,57 with deviation standard of 8,89 and t value pf 26,88 so the data is declared significant. It means balance model in children at elementary school age is effective to improve elementary school balance. Based on results of research it is concluded that the balance model in children at elementary school age being developed has a significant effectiveness.

Abstract

Gender differences and the attitudes of students towards physical activities are at times used as measures or determinants in the effectiveness and success of teaching dance as one of the many activities in Physical Education program which was found out to be beneficial to students ’ total development; physically, emotionally, mentally and socially. Hence, the belief on female dominance and stereotyping associated with dance, created a stigma among male students to engage in any dance program. The study identifies the current status of the respondents’ attitude towards dancing with emphasis on specifying the significant differences on the variables associated to the attitudes of the respondents. The descriptive method of research was employed using two hundred forty nine (249) second year College students consisted of one hundred ninety two (192) female and fifty seven (57) male students. The data in this study were obtained using a researcher-made questionnaire patterned after the Modified Fennema-Sherman questionnaire which underwent validation before its utilization.The mean and t- test used to analyze the collected data and findings revealed that differences in the attitudes of both male and female in terms of perception on teacher’s attitude, personal confidence about the subject matter, and the usefulness of the subject content were found not significant except on the subject perceived as a female domain. The conclusions and recommendations based on these findings were identified and discussed.

Abstract

The Philippine Normal University (PNU), as the National Center for Teacher Education (NCTE), considers the evaluation of the impact of Teacher Education on students as one of its research priorities. Given the above-mentioned research priority of the University, this study was intended to determine if the curricular programs are being implemented appropriately at the classroom level and if there are desired effects on student achievement and employability. Further, this study looked into the some judgments about what aspects of the curriculum will be retained, enhanced or written off can be pursued if there is an evaluation process undertaken on which decisions will be based. Moreover, the experiences of those people involved in the implementation of the program will probably suffice which modifications and adjustments are appropriate. Results of the evaluation are expected to provide bases for further improving the curriculum and the success of the implementation process. This research used the following data gathering tools / procedure: ) Questionnaire developed by CHED specifically for Tracer Study research. The rating scale intended to determine the adequacy and relevance of the different course competencies of the program was included in the questionnaire. 2.) Focus Group Discussions were conducted. The scale items were consisted of program competencies resulting from the review of the course syllabi. The Tracer Survey Questionnaire was made available to the respondents through the web. The researcher tracked down and set up a directory of the graduates covered by the study. This study revealed that the Physical Education Curricular Program of the graduates BSE Physical Education of the College of Arts and Social Sciences from 2009 to 2011 is very adequate. The knowledge and skills developed during the Pre-service training are extremely relevant and useful to the performance of the tasks in their current employment.
