Abstract

Teenagers language is considered as variant of Indonesian language which socially mark that the social group who uses such language are teenagers. In various contexts, the using of teenagers language shows different forms. The using of Indonesian language in rubric “Deteksi” Jawa Pos brings particularity, syntactic, and lexicon level. This article aims to describe the language attitude of teenagers with using not standardized indicator of Indonesian language in rubric “Deteksi” Jawa Pos. The data in this research is in using Indonesian language in the forms of words, phrases and sentences. The method used in thisresearch is qualitative method. Data collection was conducted by using observation method and taking note technique. The data analyzing applied distributional method. The research result shows that (1) there are some not- standardized indicators in rubric “Deteksi” Jawa Pos such as interferences, code mixing, and unexamined spelling in writing forms and (2) teenegers language attitude in term of the awareness of language norm.

Abstract

The old manuscript is a record of the past culture, that contains a wide variety of  way of life, way of thinking, moral teachings, advice, entertainment, challenge etc. Script is something that is unique, none of the  old manuscripts  are identical to other texts. While telling about the same thing, but each has different script. Each manuscript is a witness of a civilized world, a tradition of civilization. Philologist tried hard to bridge the time that has past, ignorance of the age of the text was written, to the proper interpretation. Disclosure of  text   of “Syair Jawi” is done through transliteration, edits, and text analysis. Accordingly, the reader is expected to  thoroughly understand, and take the wisdom contained in the text. “Syair Jawi”  is written in  Ambon malay language,  contains advice to readers that all humans will return to God. This study uses a critical issue method. Manuscript  “Syair Jawi”, using simple language  that is easily understood by readers although grammatically  considered to be less fulfilling language. This poem is more concerned with the content of a message, instructions, and  knowledge of Islam, the content of  “Syair Jawi”  include message  in order to do good to parents, following the teachings of the prophet Muhammad, beg for forgiveness, remembering the hereafter, the story of the birth of the prophet Muhammad, the benefits of prayers and  special prayer for  prophet Muhammad. The content of  “Syair Jawi” shows that  the life of Ambon Malay is very religious, based on the teachings of Islam. This suggests that the culture of Ambon Malay people in the past, was influenced by the Islamic teaching.  Naskah kuno adalah catatan dari budaya masa lalu, yang berisi berbagai macam cara hidup, cara berpikir, ajaran moral, saran, hiburan, tantangan, dan lain-lain. Naskah adalah sesuatu yang unik, tidak ada naskah kuno yang identik dengan teks lainnya. Walaupun naskah kuno bercerita tentang hal yang sama, tetapi masing-masing memiliki naskah yang berbeda. Setiap naskah adalah saksi dari dunia yang beradab, tradisi peradaban. Filolog berusaha keras untuk menjembatani waktu yang telah lalu, ketidaktahuan usia teks ditulis, dengan penafsiran yang tepat. Pengungkapan teks ―Syair Jawi‖ dilakukan melalui transliterasi, suntingan, dan analisis teks. Dengan demikian, pembaca diharapkan benarbenar memahami, dan mengambil hikmah yang terkandung dalam teks. ―Syair Jawi‖ ditulis dalam bahasa Melayu Ambon, berisi nasihat kepada pembaca bahwa semua manusia akan kembali kepada Allah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode isu kritis. Naskah ―Syair Jawi‖, menggunakan bahasa yang sederhana yang mudah dipahami oleh pembaca meskipun secara gramatikal dianggap kurang memuaskan bahasa. Puisi ini lebih peduli dengan isi pesan, petunjuk, dan pengetahuan tentang Islam, isi ―Syair Jawi‖ termasuk pesan untuk berbuat baik kepada orang tua, mengikuti ajaran Nabi Muhammad, mohon maaf, mengingat akhirat, kisah kelahiran nabi Muhammad, manfaat doa, dan doa khusus untuk nabi Muhammad. Isu ―Syair Jawi‖ menunjukkan bahwa kehidupan Ambon Melayu sangat religius, berdasarkan ajaran Islam. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa budaya Melayu Ambon  di masa lalu, dipengaruhi oleh ajaran Islam.

Abstract

The study aims to describe the meaning of the symbol of the procession of Ritual Ambil Semangat in Sembakung, Nunukan, North Kalimantan. Ambil Semangat (Take Spirit) is a customary ritual to cure diseases caused by spirits. Research data is obtained by recording, note taking, and interview techniques, then the data was collected, identified and classified. The research data in the form of recording and notes about the meaning of the symbol of Ritual Ambil Semangat in Sembakung Nunukan. The study focuses on the meaning of symbols of the Ambil Semangat Procession with a semiotic approach. Research on the meaning of ritual procession symbols Ambil Semangat in Sembakung Nunukan uses semiotic study by applying the theory of triangle of meaning (sign, object, and interperant). The result of the study shows that there are unique meaning in the stages of the process. The order of ritual Ambil Semangat are: Pembukaan, Potong Lilin Tiga Sisi, Mengisi Air dalam Ember, Memulai Ritual Ambil Semangat, Menyalakan Lilin Kuning, Tempel Lilin Kuning, Putar Mangkuk pakan, Usapan air Salawat Nabi, Ambil Syarat Nabi Ilyas As, Pemanggil Roh, Pulang dengan Doa, Pasang Ikat, Hambur Pakan, Masuk Air, Air Nabi Khaidir As, Telan Air Salawat Nabi Khaidir As, Penutup.

Abstract

Sunday, February 1st 2015, Kompas published Marhalim Zaini’s (MZ) poetry, titled “Solilokui Para Penunggu Hutan”. This poetry is interesting because it is related to MZ’s oration when he was inaugurated as Seniman Pilihan Sagang 2011. In his oration, titled “Akulah Melayu yang Berlari (Percakapan-percakapan yang Tak Selesai tentang Ideologi an Identitas Kultural)”, MZ showed the problem of his identity (as a Malay). The objectives of this article are to obtain the information about what/how the content of the text and to try getting to know how and why the poetry is presented. Due to the fact that the main problem is related to MZ’s idea, thought, willingness, and/or critics of LancangKuning Land, the analysis of this article will apply structuralism theory with expressive and mimesis approach. The result shows that it is MZ’s monologue with himself in order to express his feeling, hunch, inner conflict, and/or presented the information to readers about forest dwellers. It was not done by forest dwellers, but by MZ himself about the forest dwellers. It shows that if it is related to his anxiety so far (he was accused as a convert to Islam Malay), through his poetry “Solilokui Para Penunggu Hutan”, MZ is carrying out/will carry out his self-defense.

Abstract

Djenar Maesa Ayu, through Saia's short story compilation, explained the physical and sexual violence undergone by her character. The violence is generally carried out by the closest person so that it forms the dynamics of the personality of the character. In this study, the problem discussed is how the dynamics of Nayla character's personality as a result of his past. This study aims at determining the dynamics of Nayla's personality. To solve problems and achieve goals, Freud's personality dynamics theory and qualitative methods are used by applying reading and recording techniques. The results show that the dynamics of Nayla's personality consisted of the instincts of life in the form of infantile sexual narcissism and exhibitionism, the instincts of death and desire to die, and objective and neurotic anxiety. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that personality dynamics are found in adult and children of Nayla figures, while the factors that shape personality dynamics are family and environment

Abstract

Humorous stories Yong Dollah is one form of oral literature that very popular in  Bengkalis Malay community. Yong Dollah is a nickname of a Malay's character. His real name is Abdullah bin Endong, who is expected to be born in Bengkalis around 1906. One of the inheritance strategy of Yong Dollah oral stories which makes distribution spreaded widely and became popular by telling the story about him in front of  friends at the coffee shop, in  spare time. Activities "drink coffee in the spare time" is then often called kahwe. It is also that later differentiate oral stories inheritance system in general, which is usually passed down through families. In addition, this study also wants to show that, through kahwe tradition inheritance system is closely linked to the culture of the  Bengkalis Malay resistance through Yong Dollah oral stories  against colonialism and globalization. It also shows that the oral tradition is still believed to have the power to operate the functions of transformative in people's lives.  Cerita-cerita jenaka Yong Dollah adalah salah satu bentuk sastra lisan yang sangat populer di lingkungan masyarakat Melayu Bengkalis. Yong Dollah adalah sebuah nama panggilan dari seorang tokoh Melayu bernama asli Abdullah bin Endong, yang diperkirakan lahir di Bengkalis sekitar tahun 1906. Salah satu strategi pewarisan cerita-cerita lisan Yong Dollah yang membuat penyebarannya meluas dan menjadi populer adalah dengan menuturkannya di depan kawan-kawannya di kedai kopi, di waktu senggang. Aktivitas ―minum kopi di waktu senggang‖ ini kemudian kerap disebut kahwe. Hal ini juga yang kemudian membedakan sistem pewarisan cerita lisan pada umumnya, yang biasanya diwariskan melalui keluarga. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga hendak menunjukkan bahwa sistem pewarisan melalui tradisi kahwe ini terkait dengan upaya resistensi budaya orang Melayu Bengkalis melalui cerita-cerita lisan Yong Dollah terhadap kolonialisme dan globalisasi. Hal ini juga menunjukkan bahwa tradisi lisan masih dipercaya memiliki kekuatan dalam mengoperasikan fungsi-fungsi transformatifnya dalam kehidupan masyarakat.

Abstract

Masyarakat Minangkabau merupakan salah satu suku di Indonesia yang memiliki sistem kekerabatan berdasarkan garis keturunan ibu. Sistem kekeraban seperti ini disebut dengan sistem kekerabatan matrilineal, salah satu ciri sistem kekerabatannya, laki-laki Minangkabau tidak memiliki hak atas tanah pusaka.  Hal inilah yang diangkat Iyut Fitra dalam cerpennya yang berjudul “Rumah untuk Kemenakan”. Penelitian ini mencoba mengangkat dampak sistem kekerabatan matrilineal yang terdapat di dalam cerpen tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif-analitis. Sementara, untuk menganalisis cerpen digunakan teori sosiologi sastra. Dari hasil pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa budaya matrilineal ternyata memberikan beberapa dampak kurang baik bagi masyarakat pemiliknya, seperti tidak adanya keadilan bagi kaum laki-laki menyangkut tanah pusaka dan hilangnya rasa kemanusiaan karena menjunjung tinggi adat.

Abstract

This study entitles ―Citra Perempuan in Novel Burung Tiung Seri Gading Written by Hasan Junus‖. Problem in this research about the image of women and the gender inequities in the novel.This study aims to describe, express women‘s image and the discrimination of gender in novel Burung Tiung Seri Gading. The use of this study is to inform people in general and readers in particular about the roles and status of women in society reflected in novel Burung Tiung Seri Gading. The theory used is feminist literature criticism. This is a qualitative research. using the book study method. Primary data that is Burung Tiung Seri Gading novel Hasan Junus work published by Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Provinsi Riau, Pekanbaru 2009185 pages thick.The steps of the research are (1) identify the female characters in literature, (2) seek the position of these figures in everyday life in society, good relations within the family or in society at large, (3) gender inequality would be viewed through a gender analysis ofits image of women in daily life. The conclusions of this study are that the roles and status of women in society get women not be able to avoid their housework and the discrimination of gender.Penelitian ini berjudul ―Citra Perempuan dalam Novel Burung Tiung Seri Gading Karya Hasan Junus‖.  Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini tentang citra perempuan dan terjadinya ketidakadilan gender dalam novel. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan citra perempuan dan mendeskripsikan ketidakadilan gender dalam novel Burung Tiung Seri Gading. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan kepada pembaca khususnya dan masyarakat pada umumnya tentang peran dan kedudukan perempuan dalam masyarakat yang tercermin dalam novel Burung Tiung Seri Gading serta memberikan pengetahuan kepada pembaca tentang terjadinya ketidakadilan gender dalam masyarakat yang tercermin dalam novel Burung Tiung Seri Gading. Teori yang digunakan adalah kritik sastra feminis. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode studi pustaka. Data primernya bersumberkan pada novel Burung Tiung Seri Gading karya Hasan Junus yang diterbitkan oleh Dinas Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Provinsi Riau, Pekanbaru, 2009 setebal 185 halaman. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah adanya peran dan kedudukan perempuan di masyarakat membuat perempuan belum bisa lepas dari pekerjaan domestik serta perempuan adalah korban dari ketidakadilan gender.

Abstract

Latah is one of fluency disorder. Latah speech production is unique because there is a systematic repetition of sounds. Study on latah speech based on speech production has never been done. Therefore, this study identify the process of speech production of latah by applying acoustic phonetics approach. This study uses a mixture of quantitative and qualitative methods with experimental approach. Data measured using praat application. The result shows that latah speech has a unique character, which has a duration of increasingly rapid character from thebeginning to the end of the segment, it has a regular tone structure, with signs of increasing in intensity in the segment of the sound /e/ in the middle of the speech.

Abstract

of politeness of directive acts on parents' speech in Ngumbul Village of Pacitan Regency, and the scope of the directive acts on the children's and parent's speech in Ngumbul Village of Pacitan. This research uses descriptive method with qualitative approach. The object of research is the politeness of directive acts on the speech of children and parents in Ngumbul Village, Pacitan regency, East Java. The data in this study are oral data or interviews of adolescents aged 12—15 years old and parents conducted in December 2017. Techniques of collecting data are done in stages, namely: first, held the data collection directive acts on children's speech to their parents colected. In collecting the data recorder and sheet observation format (observation) and field notes are used. The recording was  transcribed and analyzed based on the theory used. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that there are 8 directive acts, namely: asking, commanding, advising, rebuking, inviting, suggesting and, persuade, in the form of politeness directive acts on the child's speech to his parents, Then, there are 6 directive acts, namely: asking, commanding, advising, suggesting, interrogating, and scolding. in the manner of the directive act  on the parent's speech to the children. Furthermore, there are 5 scale of politeness, namely: cost-benefit scale, optionality scale, indirectness scale, authority scale, and social distance scale in the scale of politeness of directive acts on children's and parent's speech in Ngumbul Village of Pacitan Regency
