Abstract

An effective school is a school which is able to achieve its desired goal (s) or to produce its desired output (s). Studies showed that an effective school has certain characteristics which are a) the determination to achieve better results, b) maximization of actual net learning time, and c) structured teaching. Consequently, an effective school requires principal leadership to direct, motivate and give support to all school members: teachers, staff, students, school’s communities, and stakeholders to do what should do at their best for a better result (s) or output (s). To be effective, principal leadership strategies should consider the contexts where leadership takes place. There are four possible leadership strategies. They are bartering, building, binding, and bonding. Each strategy is considered more suitable than others in a particular context.

Abstract

Professionalism is a performance quality and at the same time as a demand for professional behavior in carrying out their duties. Professionalism Teachers are workers who have a profession and are fully responsible, dedicated to work, therefore must uphold the professionalism of a teacher. Technology of Industrial Revolution 4.0. In this era began and was marked by the emergence of an experiment such as, Super Computers, Smart Robots, Genetic Editing, Vehicles without Drivers, and the development of neuro technology. The role of education is very important to produce teachers who have professionalism, human resources that have qualities that are able to compete with other countries. In order to face this industrial revolution 4.0. There are still many obstacles that are not fulfilled by all qualified human resources, who are able to adapt to the challenges of the times in meeting the needs of the industrial revolution 4.0.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain information about the management of school principals' duties as leaders and as teachers in elementary schools in 29 Public Elementary Schools in Rimau Island, Banyuasin District. This study uses a qualitative approach that emphasizes more meaning than generalization. The research subjects consisted of 1 principal, 4 teachers and 1 administrative staff member. Data is obtained by means of interviews, observations, and documents. In analyzing the data using 3 activity lines, namely data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results of data analysis show; (1) The management of the principal's job as a teacher in Elementary School 29 Pulau Rimau has been well implemented, especially in managing the time to carry out academic assignments as a teacher by selecting teaching days which are considered not too many school principals' activities Friday and Saturday; (2) Management of school principals' tasks as leaders carried out by the principal of the Elementary School 29 Pulau Rimau includes the transformation of Vision and Mission by carrying out management functions in the management of school resources (facilities, infrastructure, teachers and staff).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of BabyBus application on gadgets on early literacy abilities of early childhood in group A in Palembang IT Fathiyyah ECD in 2018. The research method used in this study was an experimental method with posttest only control group design research design. The sampling technique is done by total sampling technique. With a sample of 26 children from groups A1 and A2 in PAUD IT Fathiyyah. Data analysis used is descriptive statistics, inferential statistics and hypothesis testing using the t test. From the results of calculations carried out obtained tcount = 2.268> ttable = 2.064. This means that there are significant differences in early childhood literacy abilities in the A PAUD IT Fathiyyah Palembang group between groups of children who use the application on the gadget in the introduction of letters of the alphabet with groups of children who do not use the BabyBus application in the alphabet letter introduction. From the results of these studies it can be concluded that there is an influence of the use of the BabyBus application on gadgets on early literacy skills in early childhood, especially in the introduction of letters of the alphabet.

Abstract

Statistical reasoning is the ability to explain why and how conclusions are obtained. Statistical reasoning is very necessary in everyday life, as well as in basic statistics and research statistics. Statistical reasoning is divided into 5 levels, namely 1) LPS 0 (does not have statistical reasoning), 2) LPS 1 (prestructure reasoning), 3) LPS 2 (transitional reasoning), 4) LPS 3 (procedural reasoning), 5) LPS 4 (integrated reasoning). This study aims to determine the level of students' ability to work on statistical reasoning questions. This research was carried out in the second semester students with the number of research subjects 80 students in the mathematics education study program at the University of PGRI Palembang. The research method used is descriptive research, with data collection techniques using tests and interviews. The results of the study show that the ability of students to solve statistical reasoning problems is at level 3 (procedural reasoning).

Abstract

This study aims to determine; (1) Principal Strategy in improving teacher professionalism in 17 Rimau Island Elementary School; (2) implementation of the principal's strategy in increasing teacher professionalism, supporting and inhibiting factors in implementing the strategy at 17 Rimau Island Public Elementary School. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The technique of collecting research data was collected using observation and interview methods, the strategy of the principal in increasing teacher professionalism using several strategies; (1) Motivating teachers; (2) Growing discipline; (3) Awards; and (4) Guidance to teachers. Besides that, it also organizes and instructs teachers to take part in seminars and training, gives teachers the opportunity to continue their education, places teachers in the right proportion, gives rewards and welfare to teachers to improve performance, namely: first improving mental well-being by creating a school climate safe, peaceful, applying family principles. Supporting factors in the implementation of strategies namely physiology, security, affection, needs will be appreciated, and self-actualization. The inhibiting factors in implementing the strategy are; (1) not all teachers master the curriculum that is currently being used (2) there are still some teachers who have not been disciplined in teaching; and (3) there is an attitude of reluctance when they want to reprimand more teacherssenior compared to the principal.

Abstract

Teachers play an important role in educators with the main task of educating, teaching, guiding, directing, training, evaluating, and evaluating students in early childhood education in the path of formal education, basic education, and secondary education. The problem in this research is to see how the Indonesian language teacher's professionalism towards learning literature in NU Middle School and Palembang State Middle School 16. The purpose of this study was to describe or explain the professionalism of Indonesian language teachers in Palembang NU Middle School and Palembang N 16 Middle School in the face of the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method. The current condition of Indonesian Language teachers in Indonesia has begun to improve its quality. Learning languages in the process has indeed gone so well, but this fact is contrary to the conditions of learning Indonesian Literature in Middle School. Literary learning is often overlooked even as if it is totally untouched by the teacher. In the world of industrial revolution 4.0 education, the teacher is demanded for experts and equipped with the ability to understand the world of technology, because the world of industrial revolution 4.0 teachers must be experts in applying learning media, methods, techniques learning well, and equipped with knowledge that is expert in their respective fields.

Abstract

Revolution of Industry 4.0 is a revolution where information can be shared by using technology. Nowdays, we have already used this technology indirectly. Such as, we use non-cash to pay some transaction, or we can use mobile application to send money. And as a teacher, he/she also must follow this technology in education program. A teacher must do a change. Not only in how a teacher teachs but must know what purpose the concept of education itself. So,the students can face all challenges in this era. The one example of technologies is Facebook. Teacher can use it in teaching. So that, Facebook is as learning media. Facebook can be applied by students to access information from teacher. Teacher can use facebook to share the subject, the test, the schedule or to see students’ activity. By using facebook, hopely  a teacher can manage them well. If the discussion in the class has not finished yet, teacher can discuss it again on the wall of facebook. And all students can see them.

Abstract

The perpose of this reasearch is to inform about the importance of reading activity to increase perceptoin or knowledge. There are factors that support to increase reading interest especially teachers and students. This report is written with research methodology qualitative descriptive.Data obtained by conducting observations first for 10 days, then was continued by interviews the library SDN 16 Pulau Rimau with  mrs.Damayanti.Speakers concerned considered the most know on a would check, about the effort teachers and in overcoming the low reading interest students. The research results show that which causes the low reading interest students , because students always lazy , students consider read dull and a lot of students who less understand the importance of reading books .Efforts teachers are shed light of understanding to students will the importance of reading and make event or a race that make students avid reader.

Abstract

This study produced a simulator for education and training in Foam Tender Operation and Defensive Driving and to find out whether learning outcomes using simulators are better than students who do not use simulators. The study uses the Research and Development (R & D) method. The research was conducted at the Palembang Aviation Training and Training Center on students in Foam Tender Operation and Defensive Driving, Aviation Accident Aid and Fire Fighting (PKP-PK). The trial design used was quasi-experimental post-test only control group design. The findings of the study, namely the simulator learning media categorized as very feasible to use in learning with a percentage value of 81.67%. Student responses after using simulators are categorized very well with a percentage of 85%. Students who are taught using media or experimental classes have better learning outcomes by obtaining greater scores than students who do not use simulators. From the results above, it can be said that the development of simulator learning media is feasible to use and the response of students using simulator learning media is very good.
