Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' errors in solving literacy and numeracy problems based on Kastolan's stages and to identify the factors that contribute to these errors in order to minimize them during the learning process. This research employs a qualitative method with a study case. The subjects selected were six students out of a total of 36 students in class X-2 at SMAN 94 Jakarta. The results of the study indicate that the level of students’ literacy and numeracy skills influences the types and frequency of errors made. The conclusion reveals the factors behind each type of error: (1) conceptual errors occur due to a lack of understanding of the material and basic concepts, which leads students to choose incorrect formulas; (2) procedural errors arise from students’ inability to organize the steps of problem-solving in a sequential and systematic manner; and (3) technical errors result from inaccuracy in modeling the problem into mathematical form, such as writing incorrect variables or numbers.   Keywords: Erros Analysis, Kastolan Stages, Literacy and Numeracy Issues

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by instructional media on the mathematics learning outcomes of Grade XI students at SMK Negeri 1 Palu in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent (Posttest Only) Control Group Design. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental group was 79.31, which was higher than the control group’s average posttest score of 66.93. It can be concluded that the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by instructional media had a positive effect on the mathematics learning outcomes of Grade XI students at SMK Negeri 1 Palu in the 2024/2025 academic year.   Keywords: Learning Outcomes; Mathematics Education; Problem Based Learning; Learning Media

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui klastering faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat kelulusan tepat waktu di Pascasarjana Universitas Sriwijaya menggunakan metode Random Forest dan algoritma K-Means. Selain itu juga untuk memprediksi tingkat kelulusan tepat waktu di Pascasarjana Universitas Sriwijaya menggunakan metode Random Forest dan algoritma K-Means. Penelitian adalah usaha mencari melalui proses yang metodis untuk menambahkan pengetahuan itu sendiri dan dengan yang lainnya, oleh penemuan fakta dan wawasan tidak biasa. Dalam penelitian ini, metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian klasifikasi dengan lima langkah-langkah dalam kerangka penelitian yaitu 1) Pengumpulan Data: 2) Pengolahan Awal Data. 3) Klasifikasi. 4) Pengujian Model. 5) Evaluasi dan Validasi Hasil. Hasil penelitiannya menunjukkan bahwa Penggunaan metode data mining seperti K-Means dan Random Forest dapat efektif untuk memprediksi kelulusan mahasiswa tepat waktu pada program pascasarjana. Algoritma K-Means mampu mengelompokkan mahasiswa berdasarkan karakteristik yang relevan, seperti IPK dan jumlah kredit yang telah diselesaikan, sedangkan Random Forest digunakan untuk memberikan prediksi status kelulusan. Model yang dihasilkan mampu memberikan tingkat akurasi yang tinggi dengan precision dan recall yang baik, menunjukkan kemampuan model untuk mengenali pola kelulusan mahasiswa tepat waktu. Kombinasi kedua metode ini memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan dalam pengembangan model prediksi yang akurat, memberikan manfaat bagi mahasiswa dan institusi dalam merencanakan dan mengambil keputusan terkait kelulusan tepat waktu. Penelitian ini dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut dengan beberapa saran yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan akurasi dan kegunaan model prediksi. penyempurnaan algoritma dapat dilakukan dengan menggabungkan metode K-Means dan Random Forest dengan algoritma lain seperti Gradient Boosting (XGBoost atau LightGBM) untuk meningkatkan akurasi prediksi. Selain itu, penerapan teknik optimasi seperti Grid Search atau Bayesian Optimization dapat membantu menemukan parameter terbaik untuk model. Penambahan variabel baru, seperti tingkat kehadiran, keterlibatan dalam kegiatan akademik, serta faktor psikologis seperti motivasi dan stres, juga dapat memperkaya analisis.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving rewards on the motivation to learn mathematics of class V students of SD Islam Alhidayah Besusu. The data analysis technique used in this study is the use of the Person Product Moment (PPM) Correlation formula. The results of the study after testing using the Person Product Moment correlation formula obtained the price of rxy0.642 greater than rtable0.09, namely 0.642>0.09, and seen from the guidelines for interpreting the correlation coefficient the value of rxy0.642 is in the coefficient interval value of 0.60 - 0.799 in that interval the level of relationship is strong, Conclusion, there is an effect of Giving Rewards on the Motivation to Learn Mathematics of Class V Students of SD Islam Alhidayah Besusu. Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning design based on the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach for teaching probability using the local context of Belitar Seberang Waterfall, Rejang Lebong Regency. The method employed is design research of the validation study type, which consists of three phases: preparing for the experiment, teaching experiment, and retrospective analysis. The teaching experiment was carried out in two stages: a pilot experiment involving six students and the main teaching experiment involving 23 eighth-grade students. Data collection techniques included Student Activity Sheets (LAS), observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that 80% of students demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of probability concepts and experienced improved learning outcomes after participating in the PMRI-based learning. Revisions to the LAS during the pilot experiment had a positive impact on students’ conceptual understanding. Overall, the PMRI approach, grounded in a local context, proved effective in enhancing student engagement and understanding of mathematical concepts. Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach and students' learning activities on mathematics learning outcomes. The method used is a quantitative approach with a true experimental design, comparing an experimental class that received treatment using the RME approach with a control class that received conventional instruction. The population in this study comprised eighth-grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah Al-Kautsar in the 2024/2025 academic year. The sample was randomly selected using a random sampling technique, resulting in class VIII A as the experimental class and class VIII B as the control class, each consisting of 32 students. The material taught was the Pythagorean Theorem. The instruments used in the study were an essay-based learning outcome test consisting of three questions and a student learning activity questionnaire containing 20 statements. Hypothesis testing was conducted using two-way ANOVA with a significance level of 0.05. The results indicated that the significance value for the interaction between the learning approach and learning activity on student learning outcomes was 0.509 (> 0.05), meaning there was no significant interaction between the two variables. However, both the RME approach and learning activities individually had a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes. In conclusion, the application of the RME approach and the improvement of students’ learning activities can individually enhance mathematics learning outcomes. While the combination of these two factors did not show a statistically significant interaction, each contributed positively on its own.   Keywords: RME Approach, Learning Activities, Learning Outcomes, Realistic Mathematics Education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil metakognisi siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita peluang di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Tolitoli, ditinjau dari jenis kelamin. Aspek metakognisi yang dianalisis meliputi perencanaan, pemantauan, dan evaluasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua siswa, satu siswa laki-laki dan satu siswa perempuan. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis soal cerita peluang dan wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa laki-laki lebih menonjol dalam aspek perencanaan dan pemantauan, yaitu mampu merencanakan langkah penyelesaian secara sistematis dan melaksanakan prosedur pengerjaan dengan runtut. Sementara itu, siswa perempuan menunjukkan penguasaan pada ketiga aspek metakognisi: perencanaan, pemantauan, dan evaluasi. Siswa perempuan tidak hanya mampu merencanakan dan memantau langkah-langkah penyelesaian, tetapi juga mengecek kembali jawaban yang diperoleh dan menuliskan kesimpulan dengan jelas.Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya penerapan pembelajaran yang dapat mengembangkan kemampuan metakognisi siswa, dengan memperhatikan perbedaan karakteristik antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan. Abstract

This study aims to improve the multiplication calculation skills of grade III students of SDN 14 Balaesang through the application of a contextual approach. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects in this study were 18 grade III students. The instruments used included student and teacher activity observation sheets, as well as formative tests at the end of each cycle. The results in cycle I, 12 students (66.7%) achieved completion, while in cycle II it increased to 15 students (83.3%). Student activity also increased from 71.25% in cycle I to 87.5% in cycle II. Teacher activity increased from 72.22% to 91.66%. The conclusion of the results of this study is that the application of a contextual approach can improve students' multiplication calculation skills and learning activities.   Keywords: Counting Ability, Multiplication, Contextual Approach, Classroom Action Research

Abstract

This study aims to (1) classify cryptocurrencies based on the integration of market data and on-chain data to provide a more accurate mapping of digital asset characteristics. The method used is Multi-Channel Clustering, which enables the combination of multiple data views (multi-view) in the clustering process. The data includes market capitalization, trading volume, percentage gain, and volatility from the market data channel, as well as coin supply and active addresses from the on-chain channel. All data were normalized using the Min-Max Normalization method to ensure scale uniformity across variables. The clustering process was carried out using a K-Means algorithm adapted for the multi-channel context. The results of the study identified three main clusters: Cluster 1 contains coins with medium to low market and on-chain activity characteristics such as Tron and Cro; Cluster 2 includes coins with high volume and significant on-chain activity but not dominant, such as Ethereum and Solana; and Cluster 3 consists solely of Bitcoin, which has a unique profile in both channels. In conclusion, the Multi-Channel Clustering method proves effective in producing a more comprehensive classification of cryptocurrencies and can serve as a decision-support tool in highly volatile and complex market environments.  Keywords: Cryptocurrancy, Classification, Multi-Channel Clustering.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a mathematics e-module using CBL based on Augmented Reality (AR) with Jakarta Ethnomathematics nuances that is valid, able to facilitate students' mathematical critical thinking skills, and get very good responses. The method used was the development method (R&D) with the Plomp model. The Plomp model consists of 3 phases, which are preliminary research, prototype phase, and assessment phase.  The results showed that in the preliminary research phase, the results of curriculum analysis, learner needs analysis, and task analysis were obtained so that a solution to improve critical thinking skills could be formulated. In the prototyping phase, an e-module was produced which had an average level of percentage score of material and media validity of 93.44% and 92.31% with “Very Valid” criteria. The posttest results showed that the e-module was able to facilitate students' critical thinking skills seen from the achievement of average completeness which was more than KKTP and classical proportion completeness of more than 75%. Mathematics e-modules using AR-based CBL with Jakarta Ethnomathematics nuances received a “Very Good” response from students of 96.63%. In conclusion, mathematics e-modules using AR-based CBL with Jakarta Ethnomathematics nuances are proven to be categorized as very valid, able to facilitate students' mathematical critical thinking skills, and this module is easy to use in the learning activity.   Keywords: Augmented Reality, Challenge Based Learning, Critical Thinking, E-Module, Ethnomathematics
