Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan tujuan mengupayakan P2M dapat terlaksana dengan baik di Grya Ageng Kemenuh, Desa Banjar, Kecamatan Banjar, Kabupaten Buleleng. Harapan yang ingin dicapai guna meningkatkan pelestarian lontar yang memiliki nilai-nilai religius dalam kehidupan sosial kemasyarakatan. Nilai sastra juga dapat ditemukan pada lontar Ni Diah Tantri dan Adi Parwa. Perawatan lontar berjalan dengan baik terawat dan lentur dari segi pewarnaan. Tulisan jelas bisa dibaca, lontar yang patah bisa disambung dengan isolasi. Penomeran yang acak bisa disusun kembali dengan baik. Rayap kayu yang menggerogoti lontar dan takepan lontar bisa dicegah bahkan tidak berani dating karena zat kimia yang begitu keras.Kata kunci: pelestarian, perawatan, lontar.

Abstract

The present study was library research aimed at finding out and conceptually considering Indonesian language learning models that are relevant to the contents demanded in 2013 Curriculum and its classroom implementation principles. The study results concluded that effective learning of Indonesian language as demanded by 2013 Curriculum must develop two modes of learning process, i.e. indirect learning process and direct learning process. The two modes of learning process must be implemented integratedly. To attain effectiveness of genre-based Indonesian learning with scientific approach, needed are learning methods and models that can accommodate the implementability of the approach in the learning process. Learning methods and models that are considered as being able to accommodate the scientific steps in the learning process as demanded by 2013 Curriculum are Discovery-Based Learning, Project-Based Learning, and Problem-Based Learning. Related to the learning models, Indonesian language instruction with scientific approach begins with the preparation of lesson plan developed by teachers either individually or in group by referring to the syllabus and course book. In this case, the three models are seen as being very effective in supporting the attaintment of all competencies contained in 2013 Curriculum integratedly.Key words: learning models, 2013 Curriculum

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to determine the formal structure in Geguritan Jambe Negara, and to contribute to the community in an effort to develop a literary treasures of Bali. This is a descriptive study with the method of observation and literature with the help of recording and translation techniques. Objects in this study is Geguritan Jambe Negara-owned Puri Gede Krambitan Tabanan. Disclosure of the contents of Geguritan Jambe Negara is the formal structure geguritan. In the formal structures of the Geguritan Jambe Negara language code that contains a wide variety of Bali Alus language, and Bali Kasar language Coarse language and style found in Geguritan Jambe Negara is such a style; hyperbole, litotes, oxymoron, eponym, antonomasia. The second result is a distortion in the literary code GJN occurred on the last syllable vocals, and deviations wilaiyin teacher. The deviation is a creative writer to retain the meaning or story in the geguritan.Keywords: formal structure, geguritan, and literary Bali

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Wayang kulit is one of the assets of Balinese culture that developed from generation to generation. The existence of the characters even merge with the daily life of the Balinese. Including prominent punakawan shadow puppets inspired many artists to develop into different media at once more modern. This article examines two clown character named Sangut and Delem composed the cast of Bali Post newspaper editorial cartoons. Although packaged in the form of modern discourse, but cultural values are displayed in the visualization and the story is still showing the values of traditional Balinese shadow puppets. To analyze this case the author uses iconography and iconology approach Erwin Panofsky (1934) studied in three stages. An analysis of the preikonografi, iconography and iconology indicates that the visual appearance, function and meaning of editorial cartoons Sangut and Delem laden with cultural values Bali.Keywords: Shadow puppets, cultural values, cartoon, iconography-iconologyABSTRAK Wayang kulit merupakan salah satu aset seni budaya Bali yang berkembang secara turun temurun. Keberadaan tokoh-tokohnya bahkan menyatu dengan kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat Bali. Termasuk tokoh punakawan wayang kulit yang banyak menginspirasi seniman untuk mengembangkannya ke dalam media berbeda sekaligus lebih modern. Tulisan ini mengkaji dua tokoh punakawan yang bernama Sangut dan Delem yang digubah menjadi tokoh kartun editorial suratkabar Bali Post. Meskipun dikemas dalam bentuk wacana modern, namun nilai budaya yang ditampilkan dalam visualisasi dan ceritanya masih memperlihatkan nilai-nilai wayang kulit tradisional Bali. Untuk menganalisa hal ini penulis menggunakan pendekatan ikonografi dan ikonologi Erwin Panofsky (1934) yang dikaji dalam tiga tahap. Hasil analisa pada preikonografi, ikonografi dan ikonologi menunjukkan bahwa tampilan visual, fungsi dan makna dari kartun editorial Sangut dan Delem sarat dengan nilai-nilai budaya Bali.Kata kunci: Wayang kulit, nilai budaya, kartun, ikonografi-ikonologi

Abstract

Pendekatan berbasis teks untuk pembelajaran bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing menggunakan tekssebagai dasar untuk mengembangkan program pembelajaran. Pendekatan ini digunakan di Indonesia sejakditerapkannya Kurikulum Berbasis Kompetensi. Pendekatan ini dikembangkan dari Linguistik Fungsional-Halliday dan mengacu pada penyediaan informasi tentang pengembangan teks yang efektif untuk tujuan tertentudalam konteks pemakaian bahasa nyata. Dalam pendekatan berbasis teks ini, pembelajaran dilaksanakandalam dua siklus yaitu siklus lisan dan siklus tulis. Setiap siklus terdiri atas empat tahap, yaitu membangunkonteks, pemodelan, mengkonstruksi teks tertuntun, dan mengkonstruksi teks mandiri. Kerangka ini bisa mengakomodasipemikiran dan inovasi baru dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing di Indonesia.Dengan demikian sangatlah sesuai diterapkan oleh para guru yang kreatif dan inovatif untuk peningkatandan perbaikan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing di Indonesia.Kata-kata kunci: teks, pendekatan berbasis teks

Abstract

The aim of this studyis to identify the billboard of legislative candidates 2014 in the elections area the south Denpasar. Especially, it aims to know the weakness of the billboard design. To identify its weakness, selected nine pieces of billboard taken from nine different villages where the billboard have a problem in the design. Then, those four billboards that have the greatest problem in design are taken to be identified. Data were collected through the observation by taking the picture of the billboard of legislative candidates. Then, the data is analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results showed that the weakness of the billboard candidates in general is on the designs. It shows that the designed does not follow the rules of the science of Visual Communication Design. Because of that, it is necessary to give the examples of better designs. So whatever the purpose of making the billboards can be in accordance whit what is expected.Keywords: Election Billboard,Visual Analysis, South Denpasar.

Abstract

This study analyzed the quality of multiple-choice test used as middle test made by the English teachers in one school in Singaraja. This study was essential to be conducted since the items of the multiple-choice test must have good quality to be used to assess the students’ achievement levels. This study used content analysis method in analyzing100 items from 3 different instruments. In collecting the data, the checklist analysis form was used to compare the items of teacher-made multiple-choice test with the norms as one of the standards in making a good multiple-choice test, then clarified through interview. From the data that have been obtained, there are 72% of students who got bad scores in the middle test. There is 1% of the items has sufficient quality, 8% of items have good quality, and the rest of the items have very good quality. The most common mistake found is in the punctuation and capitalization. It is supported by the results of the interview, which show that the teachers did not know precisely the norm of punctuation and capitalization. It can be concluded that the teachers already follow the norms of making a multiple-choice test, and it is indicated that the quality of the multiple-choice test is not the only factor that affects students’ achievement levels.Keywords: instrument quality, norms, teacher-made multiple-choice test

Abstract

This study investigated the lexicons used in Tabuh Rah ceremony in Menyali village. This research was designed in the form of descriptive qualitative study. The focus of this study was to find out lexicons that exist in Tabuh Rah ceremony in Menyali village. The data of this study were obtained by conducting observation and interview with three informants who were from from Menyali village. The object of this study was Tabuh Rah lexicons that exist in Menyali village. The result of this study shows that there were seventy-one lexicons existing in Tabuh Rah ceremony in Menyali village. Those seventy-one lexicons were grouped based on their categories, including twelve lexicons which were concerned with series of events, fifteen lexicons dealt with Tabuh Rah facilities, six lexicons were found in roles in Tabuh Rah, three lexicons concerned with Tabuh Rah arena, four lexicons had something to do with kinds of offerings, twelve lexicons related to types of cocks, six lexicons dealt with types of taji pairings and thirteen lexicons were concerned with betting codes. All of the lexicons had their own meaning and function in the ceremony. The villagers kept using Tabuh Rah lexicons during the ceremony in order to maintain the language, especially maintaining Tabuh Rah lexicons in Menyali village.Keywords: Language maintenance, Tabuh Rah ceremony, Tabuh

Abstract

This study aimed at investigating primary English teachers’ perceptions and implementation of Pedagogical Content Knowledge in teaching English to young learners, and the consistency between the teachers’ perceptions and implementation of PCK in teaching English to young learners. This study involved three English teachers from three different primary schools in Buleleng regency which were selected by using Convenience sampling technique.  The research design was embedded QUAL-quan mixed method. The instruments used to collect the data were questionnaire, observation sheet, and interview guide. The data were analyzed by using descriptive qualitative. The study demonstrated that teachers had high perceptions of PCK. However, their PCK implementation was very low. Thus, there is no consistency between the perceptions and implementation of PCK. Moreover, based on the result of the interview, the teachers encountered some problems included difficulty in using English in speaking and writing, designing learning activities to facilitate students’ characteristics, choosing media that related to the material, and providing learning media due to lack of facility in the school. Therefore, schools administrators need to promote English teachers’ improvement of pedagogical content knowledge by proposing them to participate in the certain professional development program.
