Abstract

Traffic-induced building vibrationis a major environmental problem, specifically forbuilding hospital and high-tech industries building, since it may result in structural damage and malfunctioning of sensitive equipment. The Juo Chiun Building and NCKU Hospital are the example of buildings in Taiwan that its location adjacent to the highway and are susceptible to vibrations due to traffic load. The experimental measurements can be performed to determine the traffic-induced vibrations in buildings. This journalfocuses on the investigation of the accuracy of the experimental instruments for the measurement of micro vibration, especially the micro vibration induced by road traffic. The measurement at two different buildingsconducts by usingdifferent voltages and sampling rates, then the results will be illustrated, analyzed visually, and compared in this journal in order to ensure the accuracy.Moreover, the maximum dB-frequency diagram obtained from field experiment will be studied. The maximum dB-frequency diagram results will be compared with the table of vibration guideline to indicate the appropriateness of the building as VC-A standard in semi-conductor industries building

Abstract

The productivity of a job is influenced by many things, one of which is the work system. To get optimal productivity, it is necessary to design a good work system. A good work system at least provides security and comfort to workers when carrying out their work. Thus, workers can do work more actively and achieve the targets that have been set previously. This research is applied in the Community and Village Empowerment Service (DPMD) especially in the general and staffing sub-sections. The purpose of this study is to identify the work system applied to the DPMD, and evaluate the work system in order to get better conditions to increase productivity. The method of data analysis is using macroergonomy approach namely MEAD which is used in analyzing and evaluating work systems with structured and systematic steps. From the results obtained, it is known that the work system implemented by the DPMD has been running effectively and efficiently in accordance with the established vision and mission. While the factors that affect productivity are the physical environment, work equipment, working conditions, and organizational systems. From the calculation of % HR Reserve and Cardiovascular Load (% CVL) the value is 56.34% while the rest time is -0.083. From these results, it is known that the rest time given is sufficient and there is no need for additional rest periods.

Abstract

Coconut water waste discharged into the environment is one of the problems in traditional markets. Coconut water waste treatment can be done simply by making nata de coco using the starter of bacteria Acetobacter xylinum obtained from pineapple extracts. The research is aimed to study the effect of the concentration of pineapple extract (Ananas comosus) and fermentation time in making nata de coco from coconut water waste by experimental methods. The results of nata de coco can be seen from the maximum thickness level obtained by 1.4 cm at a starter concentration of 150 ml, 200 ml, and 250 ml with a fermentation time of 21 days. The best quality of nata de coco is at 200 ml and 250 ml starter concentrations witch a content water of 13.79% and mineral content of 0.175%. The high percentage of nata de coco favorite level is the 250 ml starter concentration, based on the level of preference for color, shape, aroma, taste, and suppleness.

Abstract

lih fungsi lahan dari kawasan bervegetasi menjadi kawasan terbangun mengganggukeseimbangan ekologi kota, misalnya terhadap kebutuhan oksigen dan kondisi iklim kota. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan luas ruang terbuka hijau yang dibutuhkan Kota Banda Aceh tahun 2013, tahun 2014 dan tahun 2015 berdasarkan kebutuhan oksigen kota. Analisis pada penelitian ini menggunakan persamaan Gerarkis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kota Banda Aceh saat ini memiliki luas ruang terbuka hijau 671,08 Ha atau 10,94 % dari luas Kota Banda Aceh. Pada tahun 2015, ruang terbuka hijau Kota Banda Aceh diprediksi seluas 5.715 Ha atau 93,14 % dari luas kota.

Abstract

UD Abdi Rakyat is a business engaged in the manufacture of cabinet products with the ingredients are glass and aluminum. In the process of selling products often experience conditions where the number of cabinet sales is volatile and erratic every week, characterized by an increase and decrease in unstable sales. This research uses SWOT analysis that contains strategy planning steps to evaluate all forms of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in an effort. The purpose this study to find the factors that cause fluctuating sales and know the marketing strategies to be used in efforts to increase sales of their products. The results of this study show that there are various internal-external factors that hinder the course of the business. The total score value of the IFASEFAS matrix calculations is Strength 2.86, Weakness 2.33, Opportunity 1.80 and Threat 1.70. The results the SWOT matrix diagram show that UD. Abdi Rakyat is in quadrant I and has a positive weighted difference value (0.53;0.10). From the various kinds of formation strategies to increase sales of cabinet products, it was concluded that the business needed to apply the SO strategy so that the company's goals could be achieved quickly and appropriately.

Abstract

Adsorbent is one of the effective solutions to reduce the Hg metal content. The golden snail is a pest for agricultural and contains high of calcium carbonate. However, calcium carbonate can be used as an adsorbent. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of golden snail shell powder in absorbing Hg metal. This research is a quantitative study consisting of dependent variables and independent variables. The dependent variable involved a concentration of 10 ppm mercury, and 100 rpm stirring time speed while the independent variable included of variations in powder mass and stirring time. The mass of golden snail powder used those are 0 gr, 5 gr, 10 gr, 15 gr, and 20 gr with a variation of stirring time for 15 minutes and 30 minutes for each sample of Hg metals. Each Hg sample was used at a concentration of 10 ppm. The calculation results obtained that the effectiveness of golden snail shell powder in absorbing Hg 10 ppm was the mass of 20 grams of golden snail powder with a stirring time of 30 minutes that was equal to 99.87% with the result of a decrease in concentration of 10 ppm Hg to 0.01 Hg ppm.

Abstract

Ultisol soil is a less fertile soil characterized by low soil fertility rate, high acidity with pH5, high Al saturation. This land has an area of 25% of the total land area of Indonesia. Riau Island is one of the provinces dominated by Ultisol land, so many land is not productive to use as agricultural land. This research was conducted to look at the characteristics of red soil in the agricultural land in Batam City after mixed with organic material in this case which is used is goat manure and chicken manure. From the results of research, the addition of goat manure and chicken manure that is incubated for 30 days can already give changes to the physical and chemical character of the soil, such as soil becoming more loose, having higher water content, increasing soil C organic, Nitorgen, P2O5, K, Mg, and Mn, able to reduce Fe levels in the soil. The addition of chicken manure can increase the available of Phosphate, gives K, Mg, and Mn higher than compared mixing blanko with goat manure. The addition of goat manure can increase the total of C organic and N in the soil is higher than chicken manure.

Abstract

Macroalgae has potency to expand as one of alternatives for feedstock of biodiesel. The research has aim to extract the wet and dried macroalgae using one step method. Extraction was done by comparing the conventional methods of Bligh-Dyer, sochletation to one steps method. One step extraction method resulting a higher total lipid in wet biomass (49.67 % W.W) than dried biomass (45.67 % D.W), while conventional methods of sokhletation and Bligh-Dyer resulting total lipids of 37.67% and 39.33% Wet Weight (W.W); and 45.67% and 40.67% Dried weight (D.W), respectively. Identification of oil/lipid content of the macroalgae extract using Gas chromatography showed 3 highest peak e.i which contained 9-Octadecanoic acid (Z), methyl ester (Asam oleat) of 52.44 % area, 9-12,Octadecadienic, (Z.Z) (Asam linoleat) of 22.12 % area and  Octadecanoic acid, (CAS) methyl stearate, of 20.36 % area. Those three main fatty acid compounds were commonly found in algae oil and had great potention to be used as one of alternative feedstock for biodiesel

Abstract

The use of bamboo as building materials has occurred for a long period, especially in a simple construction system. Bamboo can be utilized as a building material due to its advantages. One of the advantages is that bamboo has a significantly low density so  it can reduce the density of concrete whose main material is gravel. Gravel is a natural building material is formed from unconsolidated rock fragments, such as rock pieces or small rocks. Gravel is commonly found in Indonesia because there is a lot of availability. This research aims to utilize local bamboo resources as building materials. Bamboo is used as an alternative substitute for gravel aggregate in the concrete mixing. The research method was experimental laboratory work. The results showed that the use of bamboo as an aggregate can only be used in non-structures, this is because the rate  of absorption of bamboo against water is quite high. While the compressive strength of the concrete produced by  mixing 100 % bamboo aggregate has an average value of 3.09 MPa and mixing 50 % of bamboo has an average value of 6.01 MPa. Therefore, the quality of the concrete cannot be used for building structures, but  only be used in non-structural buildings.

Abstract

Utilization of distilled patchouli waste is still very limited, so to optimize it, research is carried out on the manufacture of granule compost from patchouli solid waste trough 3 stages of activity. First aerobic fermentation process of Aceh Jaya patchouli solid waste with variations in the ratio of patchouli solid waste and tofu industrial liquid waste used, namely 1:1; 1:3; and 1:5 then the ratio between waste and bioactivator EM4 is 1:3%; 1:5%; and 1:7%. The second process of Enrico-Fermi fertilizer granulation using granule adhesive, namely tapioca flour with the ratio between Enrico-Fermi fertilizer and adhesive material is 2:1. The three processes of testing the Enrico-Fermi material on patchouli plant growth. The results showed that the highest NPK content in the Enrico-Fermi fertilizer was obtained at the ratio between patchouli waste and tofu liquid waste, namely 1:3 and the addition of EM4 with 7% EM-4 concentrations, namely 5.83% nitrogen, 1.91% phosphorus. and 3.46% potassium. The yield of Enrico-Fermi granule fertilizer was 71.43%. The response of plants to Enrico-Fermi fertilizer resulted in an increase in plant stem height of 5.7 cm, 16 leaves and 3 branches.
