Abstract

Solar cell tracking system is a system that uses the latest technology with combining solar tracking, the intensity of sunlight absorbed by solar cells can be optimized automatically. The purpose of this study is to make the Arduino-based solar monitoring system and load protection tool. The device is also equipped with an LDR sensor that detects the presence of sunlight, sends data from the LDR to Arduino and delivers signals to linear actuators. When the charge supplied by the battery exceeds the capacity of the battery, the INA219 sensor detects overload and a signal sent to Arduino asking for a relay to release the load. The results showed that tracking solar cell systems were successful in improving the efficiency of solar cells with an average power yield of 0.87 ampere of 12.62 watts from before without tracking the average obtained 0.62 ampere 8.83 atts. The performance of the protection system indicates that the load is cut off when the charging current exceeds the specified limit of 2.6 ampere.

Abstract

In this study, the quantity of wastewater from the existing facilities at the Andalas University Campus was carried out. The measured wastewater consists of grey water, black water, and specific wastewater. The wastewater was classified based on its activities, namely dormitories, lecture room, student facilities, offices, religious facilities, cafeterias, sports facilities, laboratories, and campus bus pools. The sampling method used was the bucket method. Grey water sampling was carried out on regular days (Monday-Thursday), worship days (Friday), and holidays (Saturday and Sunday), while specific wastewater and black water were measured on regular days. Peak hours occur at 12.00-14.00 except in the dormitory at 06.00-08.00 and cafeteria at 10.00-11.00. The peak factor of used water ranges from 1.56 to 3.13. From the measurement results obtained the wastewater from dormitory wastewater of 212.8 m3/day; lecture building 491 m3/day; student facilities 32.4 m3/day; offices 245.4 m3/day; worship 50.4 m3/day; cafeteria 109.2 m3/day; sports facilities 8.7 m3/day; laboratory 282 m3/day; corral 27 m3/day; and pool bus 34.7 m3/day respectively. The total wastewater from Unand Limau Manis Campus is 1,439.6 m3/day. The wastewater composition consists of, grey water 812.3 m3/day (52.67%), specific wastewater 343.8 m3/day (23.45%) and 337.5 m3/day (23.88%) black water.

Abstract

Mesin distribusi menjadi hal yang penting dalam perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) Tirta Daroy Banda Aceh. Kebutuhan supply air bersih meningkat dengan bertambahnya penduduk dan peralatan atau mesin distribusi yang terdapat didalam Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) akan senantiasa mengalami penurunan efisiensi, tingkat kesiapan, keandalan (reliability) dan kualitas bentuk kerja (performance) yang menyebabkan keadaan menjadi buruk, sejalan dengan lamanya pemakaian dan umur mesin. Hal itu akan menyebabkan kerugian bagi perusahaan, oleh karena itu, perusahaan harus berusaha agar mesin dan peralatan berfungsi dengan baik sehingga penyuplaian air bersih berjalan lancar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas mesin KSB dan TORISHIMA serta membandingkan nilai OEE perusahaan dengan standar Overall Equipment Effectiveness World Class. Metodologi yang digunakan yaituOverall Equipment Effectiveness. Adapun hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan yaitu nilai rata-rata OEE yang didapatkan dari mesin KSB dan TORISHIMA mulai dari 90,53% hingga 94,00%. Adapun hasil tersebut jika kita bandingkan dengan JIPM world class, maka untuk nilai Overall Equipment Effectiveness perusahaansudah mencapai standar yang ditetapkan yaitu 85%.

Abstract

A company definitely wants maximum profit in its business. High productivity is needed from employees who work in order to get maximum profit. But lately CV. Mulia Tata Sejahtera in meeting the needs of its consumers sometimes experiences delays from the predetermined schedule due to the large number of orders received, it is necessary to calculate the standard time with the downtime method for one of the products, namely the CPM knife. The purpose of this research is to identify working hours and effective working hours so that companies can increase their productivity and determine their daily production. The results of the research carried out obtained that the total standard time in making CPM Knives products was 70.86 minutes and employee productivity in making CPM Knives products was that a worker could complete 6.7 units of CPM Knives in 8 hours/day. Based on the calculation of the standard time it was decided to be 6 units/day so that there was a reduction in working hours for 49.79 minutes from 8 hours/day to 7 hours 10.21 minutes/day.

Abstract

The cement industry only takes the top clay and the next layer of soil is left unused. This study was aimed to analyze some of the chemical and physical properties of the ex-mining land of cement which added with rice husks or sawdust and the growth of Wodyetia bifurcata seedlings. A growth medium is made from ex-mining land of cement by the addition of rice husk or sawdust with a different amount of material percentage. All the growth medium contains organic C ranges of 0.56-3.09%, total N ranges of 0.09-0.33%, available P ranges of 8.42-31.16mg/100g, available K ranges of 6.54-16.32mg/100g, and bulk density ranging of 0.24-1.09gcm-3. The seedling height growth of Wodyetia bifurcate about 13.5 - 15.2 cm, the range of stem diameter is 0,71-0,86 cm, the root length about20.2-29.8 cm, the number of leaves is 2.2-2.8, as well as seed quality index ranging of 0.09-0.13. The addition of 50% rice husk (B2) produced organic C, total N, available P and K and bulk density of the ex-mining land of cement and provides the highest growth of Wodyetia bifurcata A.K. Irvine seedlings.

Abstract

The condition of rivers in Indonesia in 2018,  25 rivers were heavily polluted, while in 2019,  38 rivers were  heavily polluted . Efforts are needed to determine the carrying capacity of river pollution loads so that they can be used as guidelines for river management. This study aims to provide an overview of the  conditions of  Indonesia’s rivers through a literature review. This literature review  uses 10 articles from the Google Scholar database for the period 2014-2020. The rivers under study do not have a pollution  load capacity, namely the Code Yogyakarta river, the Bengawan Solo watershed of the Surakarta and Karanganyar sections, the Brantas river in Malang City, the Kupang river, Pekalongan City, the Mahakam river in East Kalimantan, the Winongo river, Sleman Regency, the section of the Brantas river Kekep-Punden Kota Batu, the segment of the Pesanggrahan river of the City; Garang river, Central Java Bedung river, Denpasar City.   Most of the parameters that exceed the loading  capacity of the entire river are BOD, COD, TSS, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate, and ammonia. The source of pollution in most rivers is  unidentified (certain and uncertain sources of pollution). Generally, river management efforts are not carried out in an optimal manner to maintain water quality and condition .

Abstract

This study examines CO2 for the growth of green microalgae by cultivating algal strains in a tank type reactor or fermentor. The study included optimization of the productivity of green algae in the capture of CO2 which can be used as a greenhouse gas catcher. Green algae were isolated from several waters in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar. The microalgae species of this isolation and its identified species were subsequently cultivated in a tank-shaped cultivation (cultivation) container with 4 flourescent lamps (2x8 watts; 4x8 watts) installed on the outside side of the tank. This study evaluated the comparison of the growth of aerated microalgae O2 (1.25 liters / minute) with fixation of CO2 (1 and 2 liters / minute). The capture of CO2 into carbon dioxide  is done by looking at the growing biomass, and the yield content of oil in biomass. The results showed that there were significant differences in the growth patterns of microalgae given O2 aeration and CO2 fixation. Modified CHU 13 Detmer Modified media does not provide a significant difference to algal growth. With a large intensity of light with a medium that is sufficient to increase the growth of microalgae until it reaches the death phase. Component analysis by Chromatography Gas Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) shows that the largest component in vegetable oils from green microalgae is Palmatic acid (9.36%), Thiogeraniol (24.63%), Cyclopropane Methanol (2.45%), Farnesol ( 2.39%), Trimethyl (2.78%) and Dodencadien (5.06%).

Abstract

Queue is the density or the number of customer waiting. However, the density of customers will also lead to the loss of potential customers. In this study, the aim of this research is to determine the queuing discipline applied by Mc Donald’s Galuh Mas Karawang and the characteristics of the queues needed to wait for the queue. Based on these problems, this study used is single channel-single phase model, where there is only one path for its service. The results showed that the queuing discipline used is First In First Out (FIFO) and the characteristics of the queue include average of 3 people queuing in the system, average queuing in the queue is 2 people, waiting time in system is 5.53 minutes, time expected by customers to wait in the queue is 4.183 minutes, with a server busy rate is 75,60% and a server unemployment rate is 24,40%.

Abstract

Room lighting is an important factor in the work environment to improve performance and is also a factor in occupational health and safety. Lighting that is not up to standard can cause eye fatigue, resulting in decreased worker performance. In educational institutions, the classroom is the room that is used most often compared to other rooms, so that the classroom needs adequate lighting to support the occurrence of teaching and learning activities in the room. In two classrooms at University of Singapperbangsa Karawang, indoor lighting analysis was carried out to determine the level of lighting. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the lighting level in the classroom is in accordance with the SNI 03-6575-2001 standard, which is 250 Lux. Based on the calculation of the number of lights, in class 1 it takes 8 lights and in class 2 it takes 14 lights. Calculations using Dialux Evo 9.1 in class 1 the lighting level during the day are 280 lux and at night is 187 Lux, while in class 2 the lighting level is 189 Lux during the day and 199 Lux at night. This shows that it is necessary to repair the lighting installation.

Abstract

The rain intensity is the high rainfall in unit of time. The length of rain will be reversed by the amount rain intensity. The shorter time the rain lasts, the greater of the intensity and re-period of its rain. The value of rain intensity is required to calculate the flood discharge plan on the drainage system planning area in East Karawang district. Determining the value rain intensity is required the maximum daily rainfall data obtained from the main observer stations in the Plawad station planning area. The method of determination rain intensity analysis can be done with three methods: Van Breen, Bell Tanimoto and Hasper der Weduwen. Selected method is based on the smallest deviation value. Determination deviation value is determined by comparing rain intensity value of Van Breen method, Bell Tanimoto, Hasper der Weduwen. By comparing rain intensity value of the Van Breen method, Bell Tanimoto, Hasper der Weduwen with the results of calculating three methods through the method approach Talbot, Sherman and Ishiguro. Calculation results show that the method of rain has smallest deviation standard is method Van Breen with Talbot approach for rainy period (PUH) 2, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 years.
