Abstract

The uninhabited housing situation is very vulnerable to the existence of theft activities. Anticipation using a variety of door locking system of the house also often can be overcome by various the perpetrators of theft. Information technology today is inseparable from the development of internet communication technology. The Internet today are an essential part of every society as a means of Informastion Source. Therefore, there needs to be integration of home security system which can be integrated with internet based information system as one of innovation in security system. The research objective is the design and manufacture of sensor-based home security system as a passive infrared motion detectors integrated with Internet-based information system with the concept of the Internet of things (IoTs). The research used Passive Infra Red Sensor as input data, Arduino Uno Microcontroller as Sensor Data Processor and Ethernet as Web Server. The research resulted in a series of home security information system prototype based internet information and has successfully accessed through an Internet browser in the form of home security information to detect the presence of an intruder without permission remotely via the internet.

Abstract

Yoghurt is a pro-biotic beverage produced from the fermentation process of milk, namely from vegetable milk (soy milk) or animal milk (goat's milk and cow's milk). During the fermentation process, the chemical reactions that occur will turn milk into yogurt with the help of lactic acid bacteria. In the health sector, yogurt plays a role in increasing the body's immunity, digestive tract health and can prevent osteoporosis. In general, yogurt circulating in the community still has low nutritional content, so a more in-depth study needs to be done. The goal of this research is to examine the quality of yogurt by manipulating certain variables and adding other components to increase the yogurt's quality. Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus were used as starter as much as 12.5 mL each (10% of 500 mL of cream milk). The fixed variables in this study were the volume of goat's milk 500 ml, cream concentration 6%, pasteurization temperature 85°C, pasteurization time 15 minutes and fermentation temperature 45°C, while the independent variables were varying the length of the fermentation process for 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 hours. From this study, it was concluded that yogurt with optimum results was obtained at a fermentation time of 6 hours, the pH value was 3.8, lactic acid content was 1.305%, protein content was 5.54%, fat content was 4.98%, and moisture content was 84.10%.

Abstract

Organic substances in peat water cause smell, have a brown color and taste, in addition to that it can interfere the processing process by forming carcinogenic trihalomethane which is produced from the reaction between organic compounds and chlorine. Peat water used in this study came from the village of Tuah Indrapura, Siak Regency with a concentration of organic matter of 95.2 mg/L. Based on Permenkes No. 492 of 2010 the concentration of organic substances exceeds the quality standard, so it needs to be treated before being used as a source of clean water. Therefore, in this study, uses the coagulation method of flocculation by utilizing natural coagulants, namely tamarind seeds (Tamarindus Indica). The study was conducted using variations in the size of biokoagulan by 200 mesh, 230 mesh, and 270 mesh with a dose variation of 1 gr, 2 gr, 3 gr, 4 gr dan 5 gr. The result showed that using 270 mesh biokoagulan particle size as much as 2 grams can set aside organic matter by 64%. This allowance is not large enough because tannins only form aggregates with organic substances in the form of proteins and alkaloids.

Abstract

Bioarang is charcoal (one type of fuel) made from various kinds of biological materials, for example wood, twigs, leaves, grass that can be carbonized. biobriquette is an alternative energy  substitute for fuel produced from organic materials or agricultural waste (biomass) that is underutilized, especially durian shell waste. This study aims to look at the comparison of the quality characteristics of the durian shell biobriquette with the type of charcoal based on the percentage of volatile matter.  The making of this biobriquette uses 1: 2 pati janeng from the biobriquette weight, the biobriquette particle size is 80 mesh, the cylindrical biobriquette form. The results showed that the biobriquette produced had met the fuel quality standards for households. Level biobriquette of durian shell volatile matter is obtained 6%, and for the type of volatile matter charcoal is 5%. Based on the quality standard for volatile matter is a maximum of 15%. Volatile matter test for biobriquette durian shell obtained can be used as an environmentally friendly fuel.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is affecting indoor tourism in West Sumatra. The spread of a virus through could be influenced by indoor air quality. This study aims to analyze the potensial spread of Covid-19 in the indoor tourism in West Sumatra based on the physical indoor air quality, including PM2.5 concentration, temperature, humidity, and light intensity. The research objects were Lubang Japang Bukittinggi and Istano Basa Pagaruyung. The research was conducted by using sampling and interview methods. The data obtained were compared to Permenkes No. 1077/Menkes/Per/V/2011 and the suitable environmental conditions for the virus. The results showed that the temperature values in tourist objects were below the standards used. The temperature value in the research objects ranged from 20oC to 30oC. The humidity, light intensity, and PM2.5 concentration values were outside the ranges stipulated by regulations. Lubang Japang humidity was: 75.97 - 94.76 Rh; Istano Basa Pagaruyung: 65.83 - 67.16 Rh. Lubang Japang light intensity was: 0.4 - 4.0 Lux; Istano Basa Pagaruyung: 28 - 38 Lux. The concentration of PM2.5 at Lubang Japang: 187.45 µg / Nm3; Istano Basa Pagaruyung: 77.29 µg / Nm3. Based on this research, the humidity and the PM2.5 concentration of the research objects have the potential to spread the Covid-19.

Abstract

Hydrogen is a renewable energy source that can be used as a fuel and as an  alternative to fossil fuels. Solid  storage media in solid form are safer to use than liquid (-253 oC) or gaseous media (700 bar) media. To store hydrogen in a solid medium, it requires a metal able to  interact with hydrogen . Magnesium is one of the metals which  can form metal hybrids based on MgH2 which is capable of  absorbing hydrogen up to  (7.6wt%). However, the reaction kinetics for  magnesium are  very slow, it takes at least 60 minutes to absorb hydrogen and the operating temperature is always  very high (300 oC). Several attempts have been made to add the catalytic converter  and milling time. Hydrogen storage material based on MgH2 with a 10wt%Ni catalyst was  successfully synthesized using a mechanical alloy technique with time variations of 2 hours, 5 hours, and 10 hours. From the results of the X-ray diffraction schema  at a diffraction angle of 2θ=37.87o, it shows the presence of a MgH2 phase, Ni phase is at a diffraction angle of 61.85o, the diffraction peak also shows that there was a  widening of the diffraction peak with increasing milling time, this explains that there was  a reduction in the size of the crystal. When  calculating  with the Schereer method, the crystal size of the material reaches 10 nm. The results of the DSC test indicated  a decrease in temperature of 383 oC in 41 minutes with a milling time of 10 hours.

Abstract

Cimahi is one of developing cities in Indonesia that has sanitation condition with low services, especially in domestic wastewater management. In 2016, the coverage of domestic wastewater services in the city only reached 68.17%. In consequences, some communities discharging their wastewater to the stream. This matter could lead to water pollution that would indirectly affecting public health. Based on these problems, this reserach was carried out to calculate the level of risk in each urban village of Cimahi. The risk level is stated in the form of scores (1-4) with a description of 1 is very low risk; 2 is low risk; 3 is high risk; 4 very high risk. The risk calculation considers the determinants (exposure and impact) which consist of  percentage of wastewater service, risk index, perceptions of related regional organizations, population, population density, poverty rates, and regional categories. The results obtained from the calculation of the risk of domestic wastewater in Cimahi show that the Pasirkaliki, Cibabat, Citeureup, Cipageran, Baros, and Cibeber have a very low risk; Cimahi and Utama are at low risk; Karangmekar, Cigugur Tengah and Cibeureum are at high risk; Padasuka, Setiamanah, Leuwigajah and Melong have a very high risk.

Abstract

One of the performances of the electric power system can be seen from the quality of electrical energy. In this study, the measurement of the quality of electrical energy was carried out using a power quality meter to obtain the values of current, voltage, frequency, total current harmonic distortion and total voltage harmonic distortion in the building of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Bangka Belitung. From measurements on the 3 existing buildings, it was found that the measured voltage value range was still at  + 5% to - 10% of the 220 Volt secondary distribution voltage value and the frequency value was still in the range of 49.5 Hz to 50.5 Hz. The total value of voltage harmonic distortion is still below the required value, but the total value of current harmonic distortion is above the required value.

Abstract

Teknologi bel sekolah saat ini telah berubah menjadi bel sekolah berbasis listrik. Bel sekolah berbasis listrik merupakan teknologi pengganti lonceng sekolah yang dilakukan dengan memukulnya hingga menjadi bel sekolah berbasis tombol untuk membunyikannya. Berdasarkan dengan penelitian sebelumnya maka tujuan penelitian adalah membangun sistem penjadwalan bel sekolah dengan antaramuka berbasis web browser berbasis ethernet sebagai web server yang diintegrasikan dengan mikrokontroler Arduino Uno sebagai pemproses data dan RTC (Real Time Clock) sebagai pewaktu. Rangkaian sistem dibangun menggunakan modul mikrokontroler Arduino Uno, RTC (Real Time Clock), Ethernet Shield, Relay dan bel listrik. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sistem penjadwalan bel sekolah dengan antaramuka berbasis web browser dengan menggunakan Etherent Shield sebagai web server.

Abstract

AbstrakTingginya pertumbuhan penduduk menuntut kebutuhan akan hunian, sehingga apartemen dianggap sebagai solusi dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan akan hunian. Pada dasarnya setiap usaha atau kegiatan pembangunan menimbulkan dampak bagi lingkungan, baik itu positif maupun negatif. Sistem instalasi plambing air bersih, air limbah dan ven pada bangunan gedung dapat mengurangi kemungkinan terjadinya pencemaran lingkungan dan gangguan kesehatan. Untuk menjaga kesehatan penghuni gedung maka kegiatan sanitasi perlu ditunjang pemenuhan akan kebutuhan air bersih. Populasi pada bangunan Apartemen Cibinong Tower C berjumlah 957 jiwa dengan total kebutuhan air bersih 87,95 m3/hari. Dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan air bersih untuk sehari-hari pada gedung perencanaan menggunakan ground water tank dengan kapasitas 120 m3 dan roof tank sebagai pemenuhan kebutuhan air pada jam tertentu dengan kapasitas 49 m3. Untuk mendistribusikan air dari GWT menuju RT menggunakan pompa dengan kapasitas daya 33,44 Kwatt. Berdasarkan hasil perencanaan diameter pipa air bersih menggunakan dimensi 20 mm sampai 125 mm dengan menggunakan jenis pipa Polypropylene Random (PPR) sedangkan untuk air limbah menggunakan jenis pipa Polyvinil Chloride (PVC) kelas D. Untuk air limbah blackwater menggunakan pipa dengan dimensi 60 mm – 140 mm dan untuk air limbah greywater menggunakan pipa dimensi 32 mm – 114 mm, sedangkan untuk pipa ven menggunakan dimensi pipa 42 mm – 114 mm.Kata Kunci: Air Bersih, Air Limbah , Apartemen, Plambing
