Abstract

This study was aimed at describing and explaining the impact of the application of TripleChem learning model to the personal and social attitude of chemistry prospective teacher. The study was conducted in three classes of Organic Chemistry I at the Chemistry Education Department of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha in the odd semester of the 2015/2016 academic year. Each class consists of 22 students. In each class, learning is done by applying the TripleChem learning model. The data were collected by two observers using the observation sheet. Data analysis was performed descriptively. The results indicate that the personal and social attitudes of prospective teachers have increased gradually until it reaches the optimum condition around the eight meeting. The findings suggest that the TripleCem learning model is effectively implemented to train the personal and social attitudes of chemistry prospective teachers.

Abstract

This paper tries to describe problems faced by students in general in writing final project or minithesis on Economics topics. As the last requirement every student at the Sarjana and Diploma levels, final project or minithesis is often a new and difficult problem faced by the students as they enter the last semester. In some cases, the students besides being late to graduate also drop out because they do not finish the final project or minithesis at the end of the study program. One of the factors that cause this is the studens’ failure to understand what to be chosen as a problem, to formulate the problem, or to find an appropriate title for the problem, so that the solution to the problem has been formulated. In this paper is described the technique to understand something which is appropriate to be made a title for a final project or minithesis, then how to formulate problems, to select a method of study which is suitable for the problem investigated, the data collection technique and data analysis. Through this paper it is expected that the students at the Sarjana and Diploma levels can understand how to write a final project or thesis in a simple away.

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to know the decreasing of the quantity student’s misconceptions after given a Refutation Text in Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model by researcher. The hydrostatic pressure misconceptions consist of four sub-misconceptions. This research is a quantitative research with weak experimental design. Sampling technique applied purposive sampling and has involve 32 students on 9th grade of junior high school in Pandeglang, Banten, Indonesia. The diagnostic test is a multiple-choice form with three-tier test (TTT) format. The result of this research founded that there are decreasing of the quantity of student’s misconception on the hydrostatic pressure. The largest percentage decreasing of the quantity of student’s misconception is on the misconceptions 1 about 79.31%. Misconceptions 1 is the magnitude of Hydrostatic Pressure inversely proportional to it area surface. For the future research, suggested to combine strategies or methods for optimal decreasing the quantity of student’s misconceptions

Abstract

Knowing students’ problems, especially in reading, is very important to design an appropriate and meaningful learning. From the problem identification, teacher can find the potency of designing and developing material to meet students’ need. Therefore, this study was aimed to identify the potentials and problems toward reading lesson faced by the eighth grade students of Junior High School. This study was based on the result of classroom observation, document study, and also checklists. The identification of potency and problems through classroom observation was done to obtain data on how existing reading material was used in teaching reading on the classroom. There was also document study to evaluate existing reading material and syllabus used for teaching reading. Then, the data from the teacher and students had been gathered by administering checklists. From the result of the study, it can be identified that the problems faced by the eighth grade students of Junior High School in reading dealt with topic selection, pictures or illustration, and reading activities, while the potency was to develop new reading material by using those problems as consideration.

Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the quality of 40-item multiple-choice taken from Reading III class in English Education Department. It was carried out in order to get clearer picture and provide feedbacks on how the Critical Reading test for the new curriculum should be developed and what factors should be taken into account when developing the test. The data were taken from 24 fourth semester students in English Education Department, Unidksha, Bali who took the reading test. The data were analyzed by conducting Classical Test Theory analysis with the assistance of jMetrik software. In general, the result shows that the test was consistent but it was easy and only 40% of total items are eligible to be used. Along the findings and discussion, some feedbacks are provided for future development for the reading test.

Abstract

In real conditions of PPkn learning in class VIII E SMPN 6 Salatiga, the teachers only use the lecture method in the delivery of teaching materials and students are passive, so based on the results of the evaluation, there were 19 students (67.85%) have not yet reached Minimum Completeness Criteria ≥76. Based on these problems, its were need to be repaired by Learning model examples of non examples to improve PPKn learning outcomes in class VIII E. Classroom action research is conducted in two cycles and each cycle is carried out through planning, action, observation, and reflection. There were 28 students of class VIII E as the research subject. Methods of data collection are documentation, observation, and test. Technique of data analysis uses quantitative descriptive analysis by comparing the percentage of completeness PPKn learning outcomes before and after the action in cycle 1 and cycle 2. Indicator of research success is learning outcomes corresponding completed PPKn Minimum Completeness Criteria ≥76 achieved to 85% of all students. Result of study shows that increasing outcome of PPKN learning after using examples of non examples learning model. Prior to the act of learning, there were only 9 students (32.15%), which reached Minimum Completeness Criteria ≥ 76, increased to 19 students (67.85%) in cycle 1 and 25 students (89.29%) in the second cycle after the act of learning. Based on the results of this study concluded that using of non examples examples learning model can improve outcomes of PPKn learning in class VIII E SMPN 6 Salatiga.

Abstract

This research investigates Indonesian EFL students writing four types of English sentences in their paragraph writing assignments that were posted online in Writing 1 course of English Education at STKIP PGRI Sumatera Barat. The analysed types of sentences are Simple Sentence (code: S.S.), Compound Sentence (code: C.S.1), Complex Sentence (code: C.S.2), and Compound-Complex Sentence (code: C.C.S). The percentage of each type of sentences that appears in the students’ writings within each five genres represents the students’ syntactical composition. Moreover, this research focuses on quantitatively analysing the above five types of sentences that appeared in students’ assignments in each type of following genres: argumentative, descriptive, process, cause-effect, and comparison-contrast. Data are taken from 10% samples of all population. The finding shows that writing Simple Sentence in paragraphs is a common type of sentence that is used by the students. It indicates that the guiding process to teaching students about writing paragraphs with varied sentence types is important for further development of teaching process of writing.

Abstract

Hepatitis adalah peradangan pada hati karena toxin, seperti kimia atauobat ataupun agen penyebab infeksi. Hepatitis yang berlangsung kurang dari 6 bulan disebut "hepatitis akut", hepatitis yang berlangsung lebih dari 6 bulan disebut "hepatitis kronis".Hepatitis biasanya terjadi karena virus, terutama salah satu dari kelima virus hepatitis, yaitu A, B, C, D atau E. Hepatitis juga bisa terjadi karena infeksi virus lainnya, seperti mononukleosis infeksiosa, demam kuning dan infeksi sitomegalovirus. Penyebab hepatitis non-virus yang utama adalah alkohol dan obat-obatan.Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan tes terhadap  155 pasien dengan respon meninggal atau hidup.  Untuk itu penerapan Data Mining akan dilakukan pada kasus diatas, memanfaatkan salah satu teknik yaitu Data Classification, sejumlah data testing yang tersedia akan di analisis serta dibandingkan dengan data training untuk dilakukan prediksi meninggal atau hidup.Hasil ketepatan klasifikasi antara data training dengan data testing dengan analisis regresi logistik adalah 79,4% sedangkan dengan menggunakan SVM diperoleh sebesar 80%. Pengelompokan dengan menggunakan K-Means dan Kernel K-Means menghasilkan ketepatan pengelompokan yang berbeda. Ini menunjukkan bahwa data hepatitis memiliki pengelompokan yang baik. Kemudian hasil pengelompokan pada Kernel K-Means dibandingkan dengan data aktual yang diklasifikasikan dengan menggunakan regresi logistik, SVM dan CART dimana dihasilkan bahwa data hasil dari Kernel K-Means memiliki ketepatan klasifikasi yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan hasil klasifikasi pada data aktual.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah Mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis kesesuaian pengelolaan pendidikan sekolah dasar berdasarkan standar nasional pendidikan di Wilayah Pesisir Tarakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan survey. yang menjadi subjek penelitian ini adalah 3 Sekolah dasar di wilayah Tarakan bagian pesisir. Hasil yang didapatkan yaitu Aspek pengelolaan pendidikan di sekolah dasar  wilayah pesisir mencakup 49 aspek, diantaranya aspek perencanaan program, pelaksanaan rencana kerja, Pengawasan dan evaluasi, kepemimpinan sekolah, sistem informasi manajemen dan penilaian khusus. Persentase kesesuaian pengelolaan sekolah mengacu pada peraturan pemerintah No 19 Tahun 2007 tentang standar pengelolaan pendidikan yaitu untuk daerah pesisir sebesar 92%. Aspek yang belum sesuai yaitu yaitu dalam hal  pemenuhan kualitas layanan dan peserta didik, kepemimpinan sekolah yang masih belum optimal serta pengelolaan sistem informasi manajemen masih belum maksimal, penyediaan sistem informasi dan komunikasi belum maksimal dan memadai.

Abstract

The problem found at SMA Negeri 1 Semarapura was that the learning achievement in Biology was not yet satisfactory. This study was aimed at (1) describing the design of E-learning development, (2) describing the E-learning design quality validation result according to the expert judges and the product try out result, (3) finding out the effectiveness of E-learning developed. This study was research and development. It used Hannafin and Peck’s model. The data which were collected in this study were qualitative and quantitative data. The data were collected through document recording, questionnaire and test. The results were as follows, (1) the E-learning design for Biology subject using Hannafin and Peck’s model which covered three stages, (2) the E-learning for Biology subject that was developed was valid; (a) the result of content experts’ judgment about the content of the subject shows that the E-learning falls into very good qualification (91.4%), (b) the result of the E-learning experts’ judgment of the E-learning design shows that E-learning falls into good qualification (90.06%), (c) the result of instructional design experts’ judgment about the E-learning falls into good qualification (89.02%), (d) the result of individual try out, small group try out, and field try out show that E-learning falls into good qualification (89.93%), (89.34%), and (83.03%), (3) the effectiveness of the development shows that E-learning that was developed was effective in enhancing Biology learning achievement (tobs. = 25.89 > tc.v. = 2.390, at the 5% level of significance). That means that E-learning has proven to be effective in enhancing Biology learning achievement significantly.
