Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the Implementation of Field Work Practices of SMK Negeri 1 Padang. Evaluation of Field Work Practices is seen from the aspects of Input, Process, Output, Outcome faced in the implementation of street vendors. The research method used is a combination of Concurrent Embedded design methods, combining quantitative and qualitative research methods sequentially, where in the first stage the study uses quantitative methods and in the second stage qualitative methods. The results showed that the Implementation of Field Work Practices at SMK Negeri 1 Padang Electrical Engineering expertise program as a whole included. Input evaluation according to reality obtained an average standard score of 74.27% with the Fair category, and Input evaluation according to expectations obtained an average standard score of 89.58% with the Very Good category. Process Indicators according to reality obtained a percentage level of 74.14% with the category Fair. As for the Process indicator as expected, a percentage level of 88.56% was obtained with the Good category. Output indicators according to reality obtained a percentage level of 72.65% with the category Fair. As for the Output indicator as expected, a percentage level of 89.13% was obtained. with the category of Very Good. Outcome indicators according to reality obtained a percentage level of 72.36% with the category Fair. As for the Outcome indicator as expected, a percentage level of 88.41% was obtained with the Good category. Based on the findings of this study it was concluded that the Field Work Practices program for students in the SMK Negeri 1 Padang  were still in the Fair category, which needed to be improved for each aspect.

Abstract

This study was aimed at investigating the effect of project-based learning on students’ speaking skills at the eighth grade students of SMPN 5 Kuta Selatan in academic year 2018/2019. The design of the study was post-test only control group with 2x2 factorial designs. Sample involved 82 students that were selected through random sampling technique. The data were collected through questionnaire of learner autonomy and speaking performance test which had been validated before. The data were analysed by using two way ANOVA and t-Scheffe. The study discovered: there was different effect in speaking skills between the students who were taught by using project-based learning and those who were taught by using conventional method (F=18.391 and p<0.05) in which the Project-Based Learning group excelled better in speaking skills, there was an interaction between learner autonomy and project-based learning in affecting students’ speaking skills (F= 45.325 and p<0.05), the students in which high learner autonomy who were taught by using the project-based learning affect better than those who were taught by using conventional method; however, there was not significantly different in speaking skills of the students with low learner autonomy who were taught by using project-based learning and who were taught by using conventional method (p>0.05).

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the effectiveness of cooperative learning model of the Think Pair Share type observed from interpersonal intelligence toward Mathematical competency on the fourth grade at SDN Moh. Hatta in academic year of 2018/2019. This study was a quasi-experimental design with 2 x 2 factorial design. The population of this study were 244 students on the fourth grade of SDN Moh. Hatta in academic year of 2018/2019. The sample technique used in this study was purposive sample.The data were collected using test and non-test methods. The data were analysed using 2-lane variance analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, it is obtained that (1) FA hitung = 7,002 > F tabel (α = 0,05; 1;76))= 3,967. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. It signifies that “there is a significant difference in Mathematical competency between group of students who are taught through cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share type and group of students who are taught using conventional learning”, (2) FB hitung = 0,041 <  F tabel (α = 0,05; 1;76)) = 3,967. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H0) is accepted. It means that “there is no significant difference in Mathematical competency between students who have high interpersonal intelligence and students who have low interpersonal intelligence”, (3) FAB hitung = 0,902  < F tabel (α = 0,05; 1;76))= 3,967. From the last results, the null hypothesis (H0) is accepted. It means that “there is no significant interaction between cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share type and interpersonal intelligence on Mathematical competency. The results of the treatment effectiveness calculation obtained the score of 14η2=0.083"> . Overall, it can be concluded that the application of the learning model has an influence on the Mathematical competency by 8,3%

Abstract

The objectives of this study ware to: (1) Design TKP based BLM that was based on the needs of students and lecturers for probability and statistics courses at the Informatics Management Department of Politeknik Ganesha Guru; (2) Measure the quality of TKM based BLM that was based on the needs of students and lecturers for probability and statistics courses in the Informatics Management Department of Politeknik Ganesha Guru; (3) Determine student and lecturer responses to the implementation of the TKM based BLM that was based on the needs of students and lecturers for probability and statistics courses in the Informatics Management Department of Politeknik Ganesha Guru; (4) Determine student learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the TKP based BLM in the teaching and learning process. The research conducted at the Politeknik Ganesha Guru. The subjects of the study were students and lecturers at the Politeknik Ganesha Guru who volunteered in the product trials and run trials in this study. The object of this research was the TKM based BLM developed for the Probstat course. The type of research chosen was Research and Development (R&D). Based on the Result and Discussion, it could be concluded that: (1) the TKM based BLM product was developed based on the needs of students and lecturers for probability and statistical courses through the R&D method; (2) the quality of BLM based TKP products scored 91.33, qualified as very good, provided by the content experts and media experts rated the product 91.67 qualified it as very good; (3) students and lecturers responses to the implementation of the TKM based BLM were given an average score of 97.92 qualified as very good; (4) there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest trials using the TKM based BLM (sig. 0,000 <0.005), an increase in the value of the pretest value 33.74 to 73.6 posttest.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the implementation and the effect of learning cycle model assisted by self-assessment on the eighth grade students in SMP Saraswati 1 Denpasar in the academic year 2018/2019. The population was 294 students. The sample was 82 students selected by using a random sampling technique. This research used a mixed method design. The quantitative design used a posttest-only control group design and the qualitative design used descriptive qualitative design. The result of the t-test  showed that the sig. (2 tailed) value was 0.000  ≤ 0,05. The mean score of the experimental group was 88.20 and the control group was 79.12. It can be concluded that writing competency of the experimental group was higher than the control group. This result was justified by the result of the observation checklist which showed that the implementation of learning cycle model assisted by self-assessment was very good.

Abstract

The implementation of the vocational field work practice program is not in line with school expectations, the school still faces difficulties in finding a place to work in accordance with the expertise of students, the supervisor does not periodically monitor the business world of industry, lack of student discipline, the results of the field work practice program is declining, and the evaluation of field work practice programs has never been done at the Ketaping Aviation Vocational School. This study uses the CIPP program evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product) with a combination of balanced mixed model research methods and implemented at SMK. Qualitative research respondents were the head of the field work practice program, the head of the safety program, the supervisor, the field instructor. Quantitative research sample is class XII students who carry out practical work program in semester 3 a total of 45 samples. Data collection techniques data collection through questionnaires, documentation and interviews. Data analysis techniques were carried out on each quantitative and qualitative method, then the results of the analysis were combined to find mutually reinforcing or conflicting data and deepen the finding data. The research findings show that the context component is in the good category Input components are obtained by enough categories, the process components are obtained by enough categories and the results components are obtained by enough categories. It can be concluded that the field work practice program of Ketaping Aviation School is of sufficient value so that it needs improvement in all aspects of the components.

Abstract

Study aimed to determine the effect of language games with audio visual aids on students' speaking competence at fourth grade students of Tunas Daud elementary school and to describe the implementation of language games with audio visual aids on students’ speaking competence. The design used in this research was a mixed method design. It was explanatory design since this research was started with quantitative design (experimental design with post test only control design) followed by qualitative design. The samples were 62 students; 31 students of the experimental group and 31 students of the control group of fourth grade Tunas Daud elementary students. The data were collected by using speaking competence test and analyzed by IBM SPSS 22 with independent t-test. The data were also collected through an observation sheet for observing the implementation of the language games with audio visual aids. The results showed there was a significant effect of the language games with audio visual aids on students' speaking competence in which the mean score of the students who were taught by using language games with audio visual aids is better than the students who were taught without language games with audio visual aids. For the implementation of the language games with audio visual aids, it can be seen that the implementation of the language games with audio visual aids were done in a very good way. The games was suitable for the students since it could give good impacts for the students. The students are active and confident to speak.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the role of the initial decision of students choosing tertiary institutions through physical evidence, reference groups and self-motivation and their impact on student satisfaction with the quality of learning. Research methods conducted using the survey method. The sample in this study were active students at private universities in the city of Bima as many as 379 respondents using the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling technique. Data analysis and hypothesis testing using regression analysis with the help of SPSS Version 20 for windows. The results showed that aspects of physical evidence, reference groups and self-motivation had a positive and significant role in the decision of students in choosing tertiary institutions. The impact of these student decisions also has a positive and significant effect on student satisfaction with the quality of learning of selected tertiary institutions. The implications of this study are directed to be able to maximize the dimensions that influence students' initial decisions in choosing tertiary institutions so as to optimize student satisfaction on the quality of learning starting from the input, process and output of learning-oriented to the aspects of services that are directly felt by students as recipients of educational services. Keywords: Quality of Learning, Student Satisfaction,  Decisions to Choose a College

Abstract

Cases of sexual violence and abuse in Indonesia are increasingly common. Not only in adults, children are now victims. Some cases of victims or perpetrators involve underage children. Many parents feel taboo to talk about early childhood education with children. This causes children not to get information that is supposed to protect themselves from sexual violence. Need to do various efforts to provide education to children about knowledge to protect themselves from sexual violence. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of sexual violence education on children on efforts to protect from sexual violence. This study uses pre-experimental design with approach pretest-posttest design. The number of samples is 195 children taken by purposive sampling technique. Analyze data using  different Wilcoxon Signed Rank test with 95% significance level, p ≤ (0.05). The results showed that the average age of the respondents was 10.2 years and most of the men were 52.8%. Before giving education, the average score of respondents' knowledge about efforts to protect themselves from sexual violence was 6.7 and increased to 7.79 after giving education. There is a difference in knowledge about efforts to protect themselves from sexual violence before and after being given education (p value ≤ 0.001; <α = 0.05). It is recommended that the provision of information about sexual violence be given regularly by teachers and parents.Keywords: Education - Elementary School Age Knowledge - Efforts to Protect Themselves from Sexual Violence

Abstract

The level of knowledge of adolescents about HIV / AIDS in Indonesia by category is not large enough, which is 48.9%. The small group discussion / SGD learning model is one of the learning steps implemented so that the goal of learning outcomes is quickly achieved more effectively and efficiently. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the SGD health education model in increasing adolescent knowledge about HIV / AIDS in high schools in Kerambitan District, Tabanan Regency. The research method used was a pre-experimental design with one-group pre-test - post test design. The sample technique used was random sampling with a total of 100 students. The statistical test used Wilcoxon test. The results showed that the small group discussion education model was effective in increasing adolescent knowledge about HIV AIDS in Kerambitann Tabanan High School, with a value (p) of 0,000.
