The data obtained would be analyzed the validity and reliability of each assessment instrument. The results of the analysis of the validity of the social attitude assessment instrument and social studies learning outcomes obtained an average value of 1, which means that the two assessment instruments have very high validity, while the results of the analysis of the reliability of the social attitude assessment instrument are 0,89 and the reliability of the social studies learning outcomes assessment instrument is 0,89. 0,85 which means that these two instruments have a high level of reliability. From these results, it can be concluded that the development of an assessment instrument for social attitudes and social studies learning outcomes is feasible to use in assessing students.

The second finding shows that there is no significant difference of students’ reading competency in answering high order thinking items across classes, text genres, and reading indicators which is analysed by using One Way ANOVA with significant score is 0.054. > 0.05, thus Ho is accepted and H1 is rejected. The result of the study is an important information about the students’ reading competency in answering HOTS items. it is necessary to do next research in order to design future effective educational strategy or educational policy in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and compare the students’ reading competencies on high order items across classes, text genres, and reading indicators in SMPN 1 Ubud. The design implemented was descriptive and comparative research. The population of this research was the seventh grade students of SMPN 1 Ubud and the samples were four intact classes which determined through Cluster Random Sampling. The data were gathered by using Reading Competency Test. The collected data were then analysed descriptively and then inferentially by implementing a parametric statistics, namely: 1) central tendency measures, 2) measures of dispersion, and 3) simultaneous comparison. The result shows the students’ reading competency categorized as poor reading competency and there was not significance different in students’ reading competencies on high order thinking items across classes, text genres, and reading indicators. Poor reading competencies implies both of the students and EFL teachers to train intensively and extensively in reading process in order to have ability in determining the reading indicators of both descriptive and recount texts.

Abstract

Rewarding is one of the factors that influence student learning outcomes so it is important to describe the reward given by the teacher, the teacher's perception of the reward and the student's perception of the reward given by the teacher. This qualitative study aimed to investigate the types of rewards used in teaching English online; frequency of rewarding by teachers in online learning; in what context the reward is given and for what purpose; how teachers perceive rewards in online learning; and how students perceive rewards in online classrooms. The subjects of this study were 116 people consisting of 112 first grade students and 4 first grade teachers. To collect data, there were 3 methods used, namely: observation, recording and taking note. Meanwhile, the main instrument was the researcher himself who was assisted by additional instruments, questionnaires and observation sheets. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively with the Miles and Hubberman model. The results of this study are 1) the teacher gives verbal and object rewards, 2) verbal rewards are more often given, 3) there are three contexts of giving rewards, namely: perfect, almost perfect and needs improvement with different goals, 4) teacher perceptions show giving rewards have a positive influence in academic and non-academic students and 5) students' perceptions of rewards are that they are very happy and motivated after receiving a reward. These results have implications for designing rewards to be diverse and creative to motivate students.

The present study was applied one-way ANOVA as the inferential analysis. The result showed, the significant value of one-way ANOVA on the students Reading Competency was 0.75. The significant figure was higher than 0.05. As a result, the students reading competency in high order thinking items was not significant. Therefore, the null hypothesis was accepted. It can be drawn a conclusion that the students reading competencies on high-order-thinking items across classes, text genres, and reading indicators are in below average.

Abstract

Research that examines the effect of cooperative learning teams games tournament types on student learning outcomes has been done a lot, but the results of these studies have not received further study to be summarized and tested again the effectiveness of the effect of the learning model used. This study aims to analyze the effect of the use of a team games tournament type cooperative learning model with spinning wheel media-based local wisdom on the learning outcomes of elementary school students. The method used in this research is meta-analysis. The collection of data through online searches using the Google Scholar platform as many as 15 articles were collected with the details of 10 articles representing the learning models of team’s games tournaments and spinning wheel media while the remaining 5 articles are educational articles based on local wisdom. All articles are then analyzed with differences and similarities in data and then reprocessed using SPSS Version 25 using paired sample t-test and showing the Sig. (2-tailed), i.e. (0, 019) <α (0.05). So, H0 is rejected and it can be concluded that there is a significant difference from before and after the use of the learning model that assisted team’s tournament games wheel media in science subjects.

Abstract

Learning outcomes have an important role in the learning process. This is because learning outcomes can be used as a benchmark to determine the extent to which students experience changes after receiving their learning experiences, are observed and measured in the form of knowledge, attitudes and skills. This study aims to analyze teaching skills and teacher learning interest towards historical learning outcomes. The research method used in this research is ex post fact, which means after the fact, by taking survey data. The population and sample in this study were high school students. In the data description analysis stage, the writer describes the problems related to student learning outcomes and the observation data of teacher teaching skills in the learning process. The correlation stage consists of the following steps: analysis prerequisite test and hypothesis testing. Based on the data analysis, the regression equation Y = 44.533 + 0.506 x was obtained, meaning that each addition of the teacher's teaching skills variable by one unit, the student learning outcomes variable increased by 0.506 units. So, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between teacher teaching skills and student learning outcomes.
