Abstract

Students' low disposition in mathematics causes students to view mathematics as difficult to understand, thus affecting mathematics learning outcomes. Not many students are active because they lack self-confidence, interest in learning mathematics, and curiosity about mathematics. This has an impact on low mathematics learning outcomes. This study aims to test the increase in the mathematical disposition of students who take part in open-ended learning based on ethnomathematics and determine the effect of mathematical disposition on students' mathematical abilities. This quantitative study refers to a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data collection techniques in this study used non-test and test techniques. The instruments used are questionnaires to measure students' mathematical dispositions and test questions to measure students' mathematical abilities. Data analysis techniques used are gain test and regression analysis. The results study indicates that the mathematical disposition of students who participate in open-ended learning based on ethnomathematics increased by 47%, which means that they are in the medium category and mathematical dispositions affect students' mathematical abilities through the application of open-ended questions learning based on ethnomathematics by 57.9%. It is concluded that ethnomathematics-based open-ended learning can improve students' mathematical disposition. This research is that teachers can use open-ended learning based on ethnomathematics to improve students' mathematical dispositions.

Abstract

There are currently several obstacles in the assessment using conventional media, including excessive use of paper, which causes environmental damage, and increases in school fees to conduct an assessment. In addition, it is less effective in conducting assessments because it takes a long time to assess the results of student answers manually. . Conventional media allows fraud and results in a lack of confidence in the assessment results. This study aims to analyze user responses using web-based assessment as a character assessment medium. The population of this study amounted to 91 students. This study uses a mixed-method explanatory method with descriptive analysis and qualitative methods. The results of the study show that the user response obtained an average value of 3.52, which includes the SB category (excellent) because the use of the website can save time, display real-time data, and is very easy to use anywhere, so with a good response from users make this web-based assessment suitable for use in student character assessment. This research implies that teachers can use web-based assessment in conducting assessments.

Abstract

Teachers still find it difficult to use technology to develop open materials for students, so that it has an impact on low student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to analyze the peace-loving character of students after an electronic module based on local wisdom ecotourism of The Basal Babu Mangrove Forest was applied. This type of research is quantitative with research methods using quantitative associative research. The sample in this study was 32 fourth-grade elementary school students. The sampling technique was total sampling. The techniques used to collect data are observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The result in this study is that the cinta damai character owned by the students has a good category, seen from the peace-loving character after the electronic module based on local wisdom, using the correlation results obtained 0.937 and the results of a positive relationship. This shows that there is a relationship between the peace-loving character and the application of the electronics module. This research implies that the application of this electronic module helps students learn independently and can improve students' character.

Abstract

The online learning process tends to make students' responses less active. Therefore it requires learning media that can play an active role in explaining the material, such as audiovisuals. The purpose of this study was to produce valid demonstration-based audio-visual learning media on the topic of temperature, heat, and its displacement in the fifth grade. The model used is the 4D model, which consists of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The subject of the trial was conducted on two material experts, two media experts, and two practitioners. The data collected are qualitative data and quantitative data. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire method. Data were analyzed using the mean formula to determine the average media validity score. The average validity score of demonstration-based audiovisual learning media in terms of material experts is 3.92, with very good qualifications. In terms of media experts of 3.80 with very good qualifications. In terms of practitioners, it is 3.87 with very good qualifications. It shows that the demonstration-based audio-visual learning media on temperature, heat, and its displacement in fifth grade are deemed appropriate for use in the learning process.

Abstract

It is known that the implementation of learning during the Covid-19 pandemic causes students to become bored quickly and online learning multimedia is not yet available. To overcome this, development research is carried out to produce designs and learn multimedia that are suitable for use after going through the material expert test, learning media experts test, learning design experts test, individual trials, and small group trials. This research develops circumference and area of flat shapes for fourth-grade elementary school students based on RPG Maker MV by using the Hannafin and Peck model. The types of data used are qualitative and quantitative, with data collection methods and instruments namely questionnaires. Data analysis methods and techniques used are descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative analysis. The results of this development research are: 1) The design of learning multimedia based on RPG Maker MV is made for elementary students using the Hannafin and Peck model, 2) Feasibility of learning multimedia based on RPG Maker MV for circumference and area of flat shapes in elementary school students which include: (a) Material expert test get a percentage of 90% with very good qualifications (very feasible), (b) Learning media expert test get a percentage of 96.7% with very good qualifications (very feasible), (c) Learning design expert test get a percentage of 95% with very good qualifications (very feasible), (d) The individual trials get a percentage of 96.7% with very good qualifications (very feasible), (e) The small group trial get a percentage of 95.6% with very good qualifications (very feasible). So it can be concluded that the resulting learning multimedia is very feasible to be used in the learning process.

Abstract

The problem of this research arises from learning independent is a crucial part needed in learning which then gives certain influence toward learning outcome; hence a right strategy is needed to gain it. This study was developmental study toward flipped classroom learning aiming at: analyzing the validity, practicality and the effectiveness of flipped classroom learning combined with google classroom and video conference. This study was based on ADDIE model. In accordance to the subject of this study, there were three experts in developing learning administrations and two experts in developing learning media in validating stage and 32 students from Junior High School in implementing stage. The results of this research in terms of quantitative findings revealed that the validity of learning administration was worth to be implemented with validity average of lesson plan was around 88,10%, teaching materials was around 90,00%, evaluation instrument was 90,48% and learning media was 90,00 % and those result was categorized into very worth-implementing. The practicality of flipped classroom seen from the questionnaire result showed that students’ respond gained 3,22 which could be categorized into high category, and teachers’ respond was at 3,70 which can be categorized into very high category. In term of learning independent, an improvement was also found, where before learning an average of 2.49 with the low category, and after learning 2.90 with the high category. The result of gain-analysis showed that the gained score reached 0,44 which could be categorized into medium. This result could be categorized into quite effective in improving the students’ math learning outcome. Based  on the result gained during the data analysis, it could be concluded that flipped classroom combined  with google classroom and video conference was effective in improving students’ learning independent and mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Learning during a pandemic make teachers have to change learning that is usually carried out face-to-face into online learning that is still fun for students. Learning media during online learning will help teachers deliver learning material more creatively to become more enjoyable, and students easily understand the learning material. This study aims to develop e-comic learning media on the topic of the human digestive system. This research is a type of development research using the ADDIE model. However, this study's implementation and evaluation stages cannot be carried out due to the COVID-19 pandemic, limited time, resources, and costs. Thus, in this study, only the analysis, design, and development stages were carried out. The subjects in this study were two media experts, two material experts, and two practitioners. The data collected in this study used a questionnaire method by analyzing the e-comic learning media. The data from the validation results from the experts were then analyzed using the mean formula to find out the average validity score of e-comic learning media on the topic of the human digestive system. The analysis results show that the average validation score of e-comic learning media on the topic of the human digestive system is 4.65 with very good qualifications, and material validation is 4.57 with very good qualifications. So, e-comic learning media on the topic of the human digestive system are declared valid and have very good qualifications.

Abstract

The fundamental problem in business is the low readiness of occupational therapists as experts. In addition, the low job readiness of therapists is exacerbated by the low absorption of prospective therapists. LSP P3 competency certification is an essential program for improving spa therapists' work readiness and labour absorption in the tourism industry. This study aims to analyze how much influence the competence of the LSP P3 Junior Spa certification on Asesi's work readiness and Asesi's absorption in the spa tourism industry. Ex-post facto research with a quantitative approach. A total of 66 respondents of spa therapist assessment were included in this study as a sample. Data were collected through a questionnaire with a 4 Likert scale questionnaire instrument. Data analysis was performed using regression analysis and SEM analysis. The results showed that the LSP P3 Junior Spa Therapist competency certification had a significant effect on Asesi's work readiness and Asesi's absorption in the tourism industry in the spa sector. The certification program must improve the quality of its implementation. Educational and training institutions must organize various competency certification programs that are even more optimal, especially when competency testing must be carried out in-depth material by the perceptions of the spa therapist workforce.

Abstract

The absorption of graduates in the industrial world is an important aspect that affects the quality of vocational high schools (SMK). However, the problem that occurs is the low absorption. This study aims to analyze the level of absorption of SMK graduates in light vehicle engineering (TKR) and motorcycle engineering and business (TBSM) programs. Descriptive research uses a quantitative approach to measure the percentage of graduate absorption. A total of 4 vocational high school job fairs were involved in this study. Techniques and instruments of data collection using methods and observation sheets by observing survey data in special job fairs. The data analysis technique used quantitative descriptive analysis and inferential analysis of the sample independent t test. The results showed that the level of absorption of SMK graduates in the TKR and TBSM majors was low. Various efforts to revitalize vocational education must be matured again. The link and match program of SMK with the industrial world needs to be more intensive to align the competencies taught to the competency needs of the industrial world, so that the absorption of graduates can be improved.

Abstract

The challenge of online learning for students is the lack of direct interaction between students and lecturers, causing students to have difficulty learning. In addition, unstable internet network constraints cause the learning process not to run optimally. This paper aims to develop online learning in universities. The type of research is a descriptive survey. The research respondents were 96 students. This study examines the effectiveness of the online learning process. Data were analyzed and compared with research results in journal articles. The online learning evaluation analysis from the side of the first student showed that students were more interested in face-to-face learning than online. Second, most students plan to study now for future use. Third, the main obstacles faced by students are internet access and internet quota. Lecturers have an essential role in helping students learn online. Third, students need groups to share the happy learning process. Thus, the readiness of lecturers and students in online learning needs to be improved with the support of learning technology devices.
