Abstract

The core idea behind this research is to examine the significance of financial ratios taken from the financial reports or statements to forecast trend in stock price. For this purpose financial ratios have been taken to forecast stock returns from 2008 to 2018. Thus to predict the future price of stock four financial ratios have been taken, “price to book ratio (P/B), price to earnings ratio (P/E), dividend per share (DPS) and firm sizes”. This research comprises on panel data with fix and random effect model for analysis that is a very effective and comprehensive predictive regression method for forecasting the stock returns. This study reveals results which show that the financial ratios are the most efficient tool for predicting stock returns. Among the four taken ratios in this research the firm size has proven to be more accurate prediction power as compare to dividend per share as well as price to book ratio. Nevertheless, the relationship between price to earnings ratio and stock returns has not been proven to be significant. Thus the study has proven that financial ratios are reliable tool to predict stock price while making investment decisions.

Abstract

Evolution of technology indirectly has impacted customer purchasing behaviour and sellers promotional activity. Generally, before customers have a purchase intention, they will seek for information and all the information usually can be obtained online especially on social media. Rationally, customers would believe words generated by others who have consumption experiences as it is seen to be more credible and trustworthy. Words provided by others on online is known as User-Generated Content. Allowing buyers to fully rely on words generated by others may not always be favourable to online sellers. Therefore, researchers conducted this pilot study with only 30 respondents to determine the relationship between Mobile Environment Cues towards Mobile Purchase Intention and Spreading Positive User-Generated Content with Shaped Discussion as one of the cues. SPSS was used and correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were employed. Out of 5 hypotheses, 3 were supported and 2 were not. Finding also revealed that information provided by sellers does have weak relationship with mobile purchase intention.

Abstract

This paper investigates the influence of education and skill mismatch on job search behaviour and quits intention among workers in the manufacturing sector in Malaysia. Three indicators of mismatch were employed here; over-education, overskilling and job mismatch and they were measured using workers’ own assessment. Using data from own field survey, the 2016 Co-workers’ Externalities at Workplace (TERS-16), it was found that 18%, 45% and 37% of respondents were deemed overeducated, overskilled and being in mismatched jobs, respectively. Using random effect probit models, three main findings were observed. As expected, there was strong evidence that overqualification resulted in job search activity. Being in jobs that completely different from workers’ actual field of study also increased the likelihood of seeking new jobs relative to the reference group. Finally, being overskilled also led to a higher probability of being engaged in job search behaviour. Interestingly, the magnitude of the effect was twice higher for the severely than for the moderately-overskilled. These findings were robust even after all education-skill mismatch indicators were controlled for together. The results of the study reflect greater potential mobility amongst the mismatched workers in Malaysia. There is impossible to ascertain whether or not such a move results in improved matches due to data limitation. Yet, from a firm’s perspective, higher intensity of job search behaviour among the mismatched may lead to a higher turnover rate and incur hiring and training cost.

Abstract

Halal Industry has been growing at a rapid pace due to the growth of the Muslim population worldwide as well as industry internationalization due to tourism and migration. Supply chain management represents a set of interdependent organizations that work closely together to manage the flow of goods or services and information along the value-added chain of products, in order to realize end customer value at the lowest possible costs. Halal Supply Chain performance measures can be developed based on existing measures of the conventional supply chain as long as the primary objective is preserving halal integrity rather than minimizing cost or maximizing profit. The objective of this paper is to see the effect of halal certification and labeling process towards halal supply chain performance using SEM techniques. Halal Certification term as a process of certifying products or services as pronounced by the Shariah Law. halal labeling can be elaborated as marking, tagging or stamping a particular product or service with halal logo or symbol to indicate its halal status. This article focus will be on the survey method only. The instrument development was based on a literature survey. This study focuses on the population of halal-certified food and beverages (F&B) manufacturers as disclose in JAKIM Halal Portal. About 254 questionnaire sets answered by the intended respondents out of 500 being distributed and no data are detected as missing. All questions are completely answered by the respondents. This study has confirmed the effect of Halal Certification and Labelling Process, on Halal Supply Chain performance. Having demonstrated the significance of the hypothesized effect with a substantial total variance explained (i.e. above 75 percent) and sufficient predictive relevance, this study provides strong empirical evidence that a high level of Halal Supply Chain performance can be achieved through the effective implementation of Halal Certification and Labelling Process. Abstract

Entrepreneurial programs had paid great in assisting humanity. This action changes common man the way they live apart from generating careers. Despite the significant influence of entrepreneurship towards evolving a country’s economys growth these actions have its own weaknesses. Therefore, green entrepreneurs are trying to shape the behavior of doing business to emphasize the society’s new concerns on environmentalism and other ecological issues as they touch their business. Recently Green entrepreneurs are being seen important parts in the transition to green economies. World evidence indicates that people are increasingly becoming concerned about the environment and are gradually changing their behaviors accordingly. Since green entrepreneurial practices by SMEs in many countries were still in nascent stage it was recommended that relevant stakeholders should put in place measures meant to spur adoption and implementation by most entities including SMEs. Consequently, this research examines the state of green entrepreneurship and explores key factors that can towards helping green entrepreneurship specifically among SMEs in Malaysia and Nigeria by means of a quantitative method. Hence, it’s expected that the result of this study can pay meaningfully during policy design among government agencies answerable for environmental protection, this will encourage green entrepreneurship in Malaysia and Nigeria. The output of this research is significantly essential to the business owners as well as to the decision makers.

Abstract

This paper examines the types of fraud in the financial affairs of public corporations and the way they deal with them and ultimately the right to judicial review. The results of the investigations showed that after proving any crime and issuing a lower court judgment, there is a right for the offender to seek authority from the authorities in order to obtain a reduction in the punishment. The multiplicity of judicial procedures is a mechanism and tool for correcting a mistake or probable judicial error. In fact, if at the initial stage or appeal (research or material revision) occurred due to a mistake in the judicial decision to violate the right or to violate it, in the later stages, by modifying the decision, provide rights and remedy and possible compensation. By reducing such mistakes in the judicial review process, it has been possible to detect fraudulent fraud in corporate supply chain financing and close the ways of circumventing the law to managers and auditors.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to study the characteristics of competitiveness in firms’ sectors of the Greek manufacturing industry, based on firm-level accounting and qualitative data attempting to identify key issues regarding Greek SMEs. An unbalanced data set of 407 Greek manufacturing SMEs is implemented, covering the period of 2003-2011 with the use of a multivariate regression model (EGLS) with explanatory variables characterizing firms’ operational activity. Although considerable empirical work has been done on this subject, research on the topic is limited and non-existent for Greece. An Index is developed in order to measure competitiveness characteristics in the Greek SMEs. The method to determine these characteristics in Greek manufacturing SMEs is novel using factors related to knowledge management, information technology, innovation in comparison with accounting data presenting main competitiveness characteristics especially in the during the crisis period .
