Abstract

The Arab Region is an emerging market in the logistics sector. The UAE's logistics industry is expanding its wings as new entrepreneurs are entering the field, contributing new technology-based solutions and services. The blending of conventional logistics players and startups can be seen in the UAE. The challenge in the logistics market is how the existing companies face the positive competition from newcomers which are well versed in using new trends such as artificial intelligence, and the business is transparent by the Internet growth whereas traditional logistics company uses networking. The revolution of the Internet has supported the logistic companies to assemble the buyers and sellers in a single platform with better process giving simple solution unlike the old lengthy method of finding vehicles, fleet and tracking delivery points. Due to rapid expeditious, enlarging trade volume, revival of the worldwide economy, extraordinary development of construction and large-scale projects, development of transportation infrastructure and geographical location of the UAE which is an added advantage connecting the trading pathways of the West, Europe, Africa and Asia, have made the UAE as an international transit hub. Due to the improvement of growth of business dynamics all over the world, outsourcing is a huge market in the United Arab Emirates. Previously various studies were undertaken to find the third-party logistics status in different countries. To the author’s understanding, there was no survey conducted before in the United Arab Emirates from provider perspective and based on the capital city of Abu Dhabi. The aim of this research is to conduct a survey in order to examine the 3PL status in different areas. This paper reveals the maximum percentages of 3PL customers are satisfied with their present 3PL service provider and it has led the positive impact on the customer gratification and reduction of the logistics cost. As a result, the 3PL services are growing fast in Abu Dhabi.

Abstract

Cloud computing is deepening its roots in modern day businesses as companies are using it not only for their internal operations but also for suppliers and customers. Cloud enabled supplier integration system is one of the finest examples of such modernization which is being adopting by the firms for better organizational outcomes. However, evidence of such progress is quite rare. This study has targeted to identify the impact of cloud adoption on firm’s sustainability and competitive advantage in mediating role of cloud enabled supplier integration in manufacturing industry of Thailand. Such manufacturing organizations of Thailand were taken in sample which have already adopted cloud system in their firms and 32 such entities’ management was surveyed through questionnaire. Data was afterwards analyzed on AMOS and SPSS for hypotheses testing and screening purposes respectively. Results have confirmed significant positive impact of cloud adoption on firm’s sustainability as well on competitive advantage along with significant mediating role of cloud enabled supplier integration. Originality of this study is inclusion of competitive advantage in model to check its relation with both cloud adoption and cloud integration. Implications of this study are there in paper along with limitations and future research indications.

Abstract

Abstract- One important matter that should be investigated is the estimation of the risk distribution model of claims for each age group of the insured in health insurance because it is beneficial to prevent the occurrence of losses for insurance companies in the future. Supply chain strategy can be used in health insurance industry to manage the risks. In this paper, the research done is about the risk distribution model estimation on health insurance claims using Bayesian. The objective is to derive a health insurance risk model and determine the amount of net premium for each insured age group in health insurance. The sample of this study is the participant of health insurance in the Bandung area, Indonesia, especially for the insured who live in flood-prone areas. The estimation of the Poisson and Gamma distribution parameter is performed using the Bayesian method, which OpenBUGS involves Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) the simulation technique. The estimation results show that the frequency of claims significantly follows the Poisson distribution, whereas the amount of claims substantially follows the Gamma distribution. With the result of the analysis, the estimated frequency distribution of claims and the amount of claims, a health insurance risk model may be established. Thus the net premium of health insurance for every age group, for the insured who live in the area prone to floods can be determined.

Abstract

One of the countries that have a common and long-running TIC network is Canada. The experience of this large northern country in the formation of regional information visit-service systems is of interest to Russia, since the countries in their characteristics are similar in size, distances, and natural conditions based on the supply chain strategy. Consider the TIC systems in the four Atlantic Canadian provinces. Tourist Information Centres are a new branch of services and a significant component of tourism management in many countries. In Russia, tourist information centres (TIC) are organized mainly in the largest cities of the regions and at the main sites visited. The experience of countries that are close in terms of geographic conditions and advanced in relation to the tourist infrastructure is important for the Russian regions. The study of the territorial organization of the Visitor Centres in the Atlantic Canada allows us to determine some geographical patterns. They will be taken into account when developing the system of tourist information centres in the Permsky Krai, one of the internal regions of Russia, which begin to form a high-level tourist infrastructure.

Abstract

Social media - especially for young generation Z - have become an essential tool for establishing private, professional and consumer relations. People from generation Z constitute an increasingly demanding group of customers. They do not know the era when the Internet or smartphones have not existed. In fact, they have been using these technologies from their earliest years, hence they are often called digital natives. The possibility of using social media commercially for marketing purposes gave rise to a new profession - community manager. It refers to a professional who deals with day-to-day communication with fans and interacts with the recipients of published content. He or she answers questions from fans, responds to emails, and often conducts long discussions to keep fans engaged, strengthen the brand's contact with its potential customers and build a positive image of the company. The aim of this paper is to identify challenges/tasks for community managers resulting from special characteristics of generation Z members and their behaviour on social media. As well as literature review, a survey was conducted among 233 students - representatives of generation Z. Analysis of the gathered empirical data gave basis for verifying the formulated research hypotheses and concluding that people from generation Z are not loyal customers, meaning that they usually do not get attached to the brand/company, product/service, and that generation Z customers are not willing to defend a company's reputation on social media. Additionally, the strength of relationships between the analysed variables and a respondent's sex and place of residence was verified.

Abstract

The article discloses methodological approaches to quantifying the level of penetration of block chain technologies into the regional socio-economic environment in comparison to the supply chain strategies. Based on the methods of mathematical and statistical analysis, it allows you to formalize and convert a large array of data of a qualitative order into a single scale for measuring the process under study - the level of demand in the regional socio-economic environment for block chain technology. The developed methodology is based on the theory of reputational economics, which allows, based on a system analysis of the global information space, to identify the level of demand for the research object in regional markets. Based on the collected and processed array of information and statistical data, the work carried out estimates of the index of reputation capital in the field of block chain technologies in the regions of the Volga Federal District for the period from 2010 to 2018. Based on the presented calculation data, a scientifically-based conclusion was obtained, according to which the regional “block chain” processes are beginning to take over the regional space of Russia more and more every year. Moreover, undoubtedly, as well as for any other phenomenon, this process is very differentiated in terms of penetration into the regional environment. In accordance with the estimates obtained, the regions with the highest level of demand for block chain technology and the outsider regions were identified. The implemented algorithm for the formalized assessment of the penetration of distributed data storage technologies into the regional environment creates the basis for a comparative analysis of the development efficiency of regions, determining their current and future competitiveness in the context of globalization and digitalization of reproduction processes.

Abstract

In the current state of the business environment, an organisation considered innovativeness as one of the most valuable assets. The paradigm shift is to understand that innovation is viewed not only from the technological innovation but the innovative capability of the firm such as marketing, manufacturing process, or design innovativeness. This study focuses on consumer perceived brand innovativeness (CPBI) on brand identification and loyalty. Given rapid changes and the excess of new product availability, the influence on consumer loyalty might not be the same factors as found in the past studies. Therefore, the focus of this study is to examine the impact of predictors on loyalty behaviour. The current study develops a conceptual framework and reviews the literature on the role of brand innovativeness, brand identification and loyalty. Specifically, the focus is towards luxury cosmetic brands in Malaysia that were understudied. Hopefully, the study of brand innovativeness as an extrinsic information cue will assist marketers in understanding consumers better and enables an appropriate response to their needs.

Abstract

The success of every organization depends highly on the human resources of the organizations. This is where the human resource has the skills, knowledge and competencies required for the execution of organizational strategy and planning. Many HRM studies have indicated positive effect of HR practices on employee performance, but there are some other studies that indicate the otherwise, indicating that the findings of the existing HRM studies are seemingly inconclusive. Equally, most studies are conducted in other contexts other in Libyan context, most especially in the context of Oil and Gas sector. Therefore, this study try to examine the effect of human resource practices (job design, training and development, compensation, performance appraisal and employee participation and communication) on employee performance in the Libyan oil and gas sector. Using the cross-sectional research approach, data were collected from a sample of 100 employees of Waha Oil Company (WOC). Multiple regression analysis technique will be used to test the study’s hypotheses. The results provided support for two out of the five hypotheses. The overall findings signified a positive effect of training development and performance appraisal on employee performance. This indicates that HR practices could have significant effect on performance, but the effect could be altered and modified by the contingent variables. The findings could also imply that the direct relationship between HR practices and performance could contain some mechanisms in-between. Lastly, the implications, limitations and suggestions for future research were discussed.
