Abstract

The Malaysian government has taken the initiative of implementing Industrialised Building System (IBS) in which components are manufactured in mass production under a controlled environment (on or off site), transported, positioned and assembled into a structure with minimal additional site works. It is hope that IBS can improve the performance of construction industry. However, one of the main barriers in Malaysian IBS implementation is lack of integration among stakeholder involved during the project delivery stage. In order to overcome this barrier, a new collaborative procurement or project delivery namely as Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) which is using a multi-party contract (more than two parties selected) has been introduced. Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is defined as a project delivery approach that integrates people, systems, business structures and practices into a process that collaboratively harnesses the talents and insights of all project participants to optimise the results, increase value to the owner, reduce waste, and maximize efficiency through all phases of design, fabrication and construction. Although, many researchers have argue the importance of IPD in project delivery process, but the readiness of construction industries must be established. This research has used a quantitative research process that involved a few phases including literature review stage, data collection stage, framework development stage, validation and recommendation stage. This research is to obtain data based on multidisciplinary IBS stakeholders perspectives, respondent include project managers, resident engineers, architects and contractors are among the potential candidates. Respondents that directly involved in the construction industry mentioned that their firms are willing to change and implement IPD. The firm s readiness recorded at the moderate mean value. It can be noted that each firm involved as respondents are ready to implement.

Abstract

Abstract - Homestay Program (HP) initiatives play an important role in Community-based Tourism (CBT), especially for Malaysian tourism industry. HPs offer activities that are catalysts to the community development, focusing those in the rural areas. However, due to technological advancements, promotion and marketing strategy for the unique CBT initiative needs a new and inventive move.  This leads to the proposed technology-based framework for a system as part of the specific CBT supply chain (CBTSC), known as the Collaborative-based Web Recommender (CBWR) system or simply, website. The CBTSC is further intensified to emerge the CBWR sub-supply chain model. As part of the CBWR model, the CBWR website is able to essentially promote the CBT effort of HP worldwide, thus supports community development and livelihood. Keywords - Homestay Program, Collaborative-Based Web Recommender System, Community-Based Tourism Supply Chain, Technology-Based Promotion and Marketing, Rural Community-Based Tourism

Abstract

It is a known fact that most halal food products, especially meat are now sourced from various part of the world and the majority of halal food exporters/producers come from non-Muslim countries. This has led to growing concerns from the halal consumers, especially the Muslim communities with regards to whether the halal status of these food products can really be guaranteed throughout the supply chain in these countries and whether the halal foods claimed are authentic. This study aims to better understand the current halal meat certification in Australia, a predominantly non-Muslim country. By adopting a case study approach, this study uses semi structured interviews and field observations as the primary methods of data collection. Fifteen participants representing the halal certifiers and meat processors participated in this study. This study is one of the first to identify and discuss conceptually the operations of halal meat supply chain in Australia. It has contributed to the body of knowledge through an understanding of the issues that are affecting halal meat supply chain operations in a non-Muslim majority environment.

Abstract

Abstract Implementing Aerospace Quality Management system in an organization in theory will achieve on-time delivery, product conformity and acceptable price, which will result in Customer Satisfaction. However, system dynamics has to be considered for all systems, which determines and analyses feedback effects of components in the system. This study investigates these dynamic effects arising from various aspects that organizations are facing during implementation of the aerospace quality management system in Turkish defence and aerospace industry. Results achieved, and information collected through site activity is used to develop causal loop diagram. Requirements of the AS 9100 standard are interpreted to propose improvement opportunities. Causal Loop diagram is validated by using a scientific method.

Abstract

Abstract- The importance of the current study is due to the fact that, despite external unfavorable economic and political factors, Russian food industry has seen a stable growth by supply chain management for more than a decade, having a positive impact on related industries. However, sanctions and external restrictions imposed by Western countries on Russia have direct or indirect negative effects on Russian food industry which is one of the structure-forming sectors of the national economy. In this regard, search for effective methods of minimizing this negative impact is relevant and timely. The goal of the study is to identify new approaches in supply chain strategy to progressive development of public catering in the context of external sanctions, and a general decrease in the economic activity of food market entities. The results of previous studies of foreign and Russian researchers in the field of public catering problems have been used in this research. It was found that despite the measures that can bring this industry to a new level of development, many players must leave the food industry market. It is proved that moving to the lower price categories may be a good solution in order to save the business in crisis conditions; however, many participants will have to leave the catering market, and larger market players should change their behavior strategy.
