Abstract

Non-Revenue Water (NRW) is currently being one of the issues heatedly discussed in Malaysia and reflects the performance of the states’ water supply management. In 2008, the Federal Government restructures the water industry and centralized the water management of the state government by establishing SPAN (National Water Services Commission) and PAAB (Water Asset Management Company). The objective of SPAN and PAAB is to improve the efficiency of states’ water operators in Peninsular Malaysia including Labuan. The Government has urged the state water supply to manage NRW problems more effectively because it gives an impact on the efficiency as a whole, thus the revenue collection specifically. Therefore, this study is to measure the effect of NRW on the efficiency of the state water supply agencies following the restructuring of the water industry in Malaysia. DEA approach (Data Envelopment Analysis) has been used to measure the technical efficiency and second stage regression (Tobit) is used to determined factors that effect efficiency. The findings showed that immediate strategies need to be taken to improve efficiency and NRW of the states’ water supply management. Keywords— Non Revenue Water, DEA, SPAN, PAAB, Malaysia

Abstract

After the death of Mao Zedong in September 1976, the PRC opens a new page in its foreign policy history. This is mostly due to the reforms and transformations that Deng Xiaoping proclaimed. The change of sociopolitical and economic structures that had taken place laid the foundation for China’s entry into world leaders in some positions. By the time Deng Xiaoping came to power, the Chinese economy was in decline after the “political adventures” of Mao Zedong. To get out of this situation, it was necessary to liberalize the economic and social sectors, as well as solve a whole range of foreign policy problems (from establishing official diplomatic relations with the USA and improving relations with the USSR, to solving the problems of Hong Kong and Macao) in order to become a harmonious part of the world community. To strengthen its position in the Asia-Pacific region, China needed, first of all, to establish relations with all its neighbours and resolve territorial disputes, of which there were many. This article is supposed to consider the question of the attempts of the PRC to resolve existing differences on the disputed parts of the borders with the Republic of India. In the period under review, China had several territorial disputes with its neighbours, which did not allow to realize the foreign policy potential, and there was also not a sufficient number of allies and economic partners of the PRC. As an example of a solution to border disputes, one can cite a positive result achieved in the course of negotiations with the USSR on the demarcation of the border. If China managed to achieve its goals with its northern neighbor, the question with India still remains open.In our study, an attempt will be made to analyse the course of the negotiation process between the PRC and the Republic of India in the last quarter of the 20th century and to identify the reasons for the lack of a decision on this issue. This analysis is interesting not only in terms of forecasting the development of the situation in the APR but also within the framework of other territorial problems of the PRC.

This study uses an experimental design by providing intervention to respondents. Descriptive analysis was carried out to reflect the data obtained from the process of identifying the profiles of several SMEs and this study involved 40 SMEs in Yogyakarta. The data was processed using inductive analysis with paired sample t-test to find out the difference between e-commerce insights and IPR ownership before and after the experiment. One-Sample Kolmogorov Smirnoff is used to test data normality to determine different types of tests. The findings demonstrate that there are significant differences before conducting the experiment and after. The research shows that communication is a key tool ensuring the efficiency of supply chain cooperation as perceived seriously by the SME. The experiment indicates the significant level of 0.003 is lower than alpha of 0.05 for e-commerce. While the ownership of IPR such as trademarks showed significant gains as well, as indicated by the significant level 0.000 lower than alpha 0.05. The result of experimental method has made marketing techniques with e-commerce and IPR ownership.

Abstract

Financial and economic globalization has significantly increased the total amount of external debt of the different countries of the world. An aggravation of the problem of globalization of the external debt prevents the restoration of stability and achieving sustainable growth in the current global economy. In this regard, at present various countries and groups of countries strengthen management of external borrowings at the national and regional levels. The author has made an attempt to evaluate an impact of the major international debt market indicators and risk supply chain management on GDP. The paper is focusing on an econometric analysis of the hypothetical linkage between the major international debt market indicators and risk supply chain management on GDP growth. A correlation and regression analysis was applied as the basic method of econometric study. The paper has a conclusion that in the world the most effective external debt instruments stimulating the growth of GDP are international syndicated loans and gross issues of international debt securities.
