Abstract

The study analyzes the national standardization and supply chain strategy system, namely, the changes that occur in connection with the economic part of the Ukraine-European Union Agreement, harmonization of the relevant regulatory framework of Ukraine with the European Union standards. It was revealed that the main obstacles to the free movement of goods and services are technical barriers rather than trade impediments. In order to coordinate EU technical regulations and the system of technical regulations in Ukraine (in the process of implementing the economic policy of European integration), the evolution of the formation of these systems was traced. The analysis of the international economic integration showed that it is most effectively and deeply implemented provided that a relatively small number of countries that have close and established trade and economic relations, as well as almost the same level of development, are united. In addition, the research described the integrity of the technical regulation system in the EU countries and its fundamental difference in terms of its perception and actual functioning in Ukraine. It has been noted that the reform of the legislation, principles, and infrastructure of the technical regulation system, standardization and supply chain strategy is aimed at improving the safety, quality and competitiveness of Ukrainian products; protecting the life and health of citizens; simplifying business climate; balancing current distortions and imbalances; introducing innovations through the application of international standards and the removal of technical barriers. However, the analysis of the basic laws of Ukraine on foreign economic activity revealed a number of problems associated with the formation of the economic policy of European integration, in particular the lack of a shared vision of the country's economic development and the formation of the concept, values, principles, and economic policy of European integration.

Abstract

The research discusses on issues in an order fulfilment for sustainable ready-mix concrete as desired for an eco-friendly choice of integration in the concept of third-party logistics and supply chain management. There are insufficient and inappropriate means in concrete industry which has contributed to un-environmentally friendly especially in Malaysia and Thailand. The supply management and logistics are the factors in designing of product which influence on the environmental, safety and health. It also involves on costs of energy, effectiveness, economic certainty, businesses and other related issues. Through the current practices with relevant factors, the analysis of model is no longer realistic. The sustainable of simulation in logistics model should relate to descriptive approaches. Through the less numbers of movements and reduction on carbon dioxide are significant for the simulation. In some developing countries, the involvements of commercial players and government bodies have their responsibility in controlling, simulating economic and business development. Relation to this fundamental deficiency, this paper utilized SIMUL model in the logistics for sustainable ready mixed concrete, eco-friendly and to meet on the order fulfilments. The result clearly indicates that the eco-friendly SIMUL model can be more sustainable, cost efficient and time effective in fulfilling orders for the operational of ready-mix concrete in future.

Abstract

The halal certified processed meat industry in Banten province reaches 147 industries spread across eight districts / cities in Banten Province. Evaluation of the HAS-2300 implementation has been carried out periodically, but there are still various weaknesses that result in the company's performance being not optimal. Risk control has also been implemented to anticipate various contaminants and activities that may harm employees, but there are still errors in implementing work procedures. Risk control through participatory ergonomics is needed to find the most critical point in the halal meat processing industry. Respondents in this study were determined based on purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the greatest risk comes from social-technical factors, namely that humans are the main factor at the critical point of materials. Although the process of slaughter has been assisted by the adoption of technology, the existence of humans is not replaced by machines. Animal slaughter techniques are the key to meeting the critical point of meat products

Abstract

SMEs are essential to Malaysian economy as they became one of important economic driver in the nation. In order for Malaysia to reach high income nation, SMEs have to be more resilient toward business uncertainty. In order to survive in globalize market, SMEs have to embrace innovation to maintain their competitive edge. However, investing in innovation comes with cost attached and due to their sizes, SMEs also encounter various external and internal resource constraints. Under logical assumption, these constrains may hinder firms to invest in innovation however, that is not the case as some SMEs are able to strive in resource constrained environment. In order to understand the underlying factors that contribute to this scenario, a research framework has been proposed. This study has adopted the concept of bricolage to explain innovation performance among manufacturing SMEs in Malaysia that operate under resource constrained environment. By adopting quantitative approach, this study has collected 217 sets of data from the Federation of Malaysian Manufactures (FMM) Directory for 2016. The response rate of the survey is at 43.4% and the data is analysed through PLS-SEM. After the establishment of construct’s validity and reliability, the study has confirmed a significant positive relationship between entrepreneurial bricolage and innovation performance. The study has also found that constraints in financial and human resources have a positive influence on bricolage behaviour, although the explanatory power for this relationship is not strong. Nevertheless, this study has provided an answer to scenario where some firms may strive even in resource constrained environment. This study is original and valuable with respect to data and context. The findings of this study may play a substantial role in the economic stability of Malaysia by enriching the SMEs sector.
