Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the effectiveness of using flipped classroom learning model on the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts on the topic Phytagoras theorem at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan. The research was conducted by applying experimental method (one group pretest post test design) with 25 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster sampling technique from 226 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it was found: (a) the average of using flipped classroom was 3.80 (good category) and (b) the average of the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts on the topic Phytagoras theorem before using AIR learning model was 68.00 (enough category) and after using AIR learning model was 87.00 (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using pair sample ttest, (SPSS version 22), the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, using AIR was effective used on the ability to understand students' mathematical concepts on the topic Phytagoras theorem at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

This study aims to develop AMP (Authentic Mathematical Problems) that are valid, practical, effective, and know the characteristics of AMP to improve critical thinking ability. This study uses a Research Based Design approach with discussion and analysis of problems, planning, repetitive cycles, and reflection. AMP were implemented using the IKRAR learning model (Initiation, Construction-Reconstruction, Application, and Reflection) with effective questions. The trial was conducted at SD N 1 Ubud involving fifth grade students and a teacher. The validity data was collected by conducting expert tests that were adjusted to the validity assessment instruments components of AMP. The practicality data was collected through questionnaires and observation sheets in learning activities then analyzed descriptively. The effectiveness data was collected through critical thinking ability tests consisting of AMP. The characteristics data of AMP was collected based on studies, physical form, and findings during the trials. The results show that the AMP in IKRAR learning to improve critical thinking ability are valid, practical, and effective. The characteristics of AMP are based on real life problems, can measure critical thinking ability, encourage students to be interested in determining solutions, train students to think divergently, and do not use presupposition words (for example: if, suppose, etc).

Abstract

The aim of this study is to know whether using time token learning model based power point on students’ mathematical creative thinking ability on the topic of two variables linear equations system at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. The research was conducted by applying experimental method (one group pretest post test design) with 32 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 259 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it was found: (a) the average of using time token learning model based power point was 3.6 (very good category) and (b) students’ mathematical creative thinking ability on the topic of two variables linear equations system before using time token learning model based power point was 52.91 (fair category) and after using time token learning model based power point was 83,17 (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using pair sample ttest, (SPSS version 17), the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, using time token learning model based power point was effective on students’ mathematical creative thinking ability on the topic of two variables linear equations system at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan efektivitas penggunaan model pembelajaran TAI pada kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa pada topik kubus pada siswa kelas delapan SMP Negeri 1 Padang Bolak Julu. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menerapkan metode eksperimen (one group pretest post test design) dengan sampel 26 siswa dan diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dari 78 siswa. Observasi dan tes digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif, ditemukan: (a) rata-rata menggunakan model pembelajaran TAI adalah 3,21 (kategori sangat baik) dan (b) rata-rata prestasi kubus siswa sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran TAI adalah 61,03 (kategori adil) dan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran TAI adalah 88,76 (kategori sangat baik). Selanjutnya berdasarkan statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan pair sample ttest, (SPSS versi 16) dan N-Gain, hasilnya menunjukkan nilai signifikan kurang dari 0,05 (0,000 <0,05) dan g = 0,77 (efektif tinggi). Artinya, model pembelajaran TAI memiliki efektifitas tinggi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa pada topik kubus pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Padang Bolak Julu.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis gaya belajar dan pengaruhnya terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa kelas VII SMP -IT Bunayya Padangsidimpuan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menerapkan deskriptif kualitatif dengan 21 siswa sebagai subjek. Pengamatan, wawancara, kuesioner, dan dokumentasi digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data. Teknik Miles dan Manusia digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data termasuk 1) reduksi data, 2) penyajian data, dan 3) verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian adalah 1) 11 siswa menggunakan gaya Kinestetik (52,4%) dan rata-rata prestasi matematika mereka adalah 65,9, 2) 8 siswa menggunakan gaya Visual (38%) dan rata-rata prestasi matematika mereka adalah 60,75, 3) 2 siswa menggunakan gaya Auditoria (9,6%) dan rata-rata prestasi matematika mereka adalah 65.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan penggunaan model pembelajaran mind mapping pada kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis pada topik aritmatika sosial pada siswa kelas tujuh SMP Negeri 1 Padang Bolak. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menerapkan metode eksperimen (one group pretest post test design) dengan sampel 25 siswa dan diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dari 77 siswa. Observasi dan tes digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif, ditemukan: (a) rata-rata menggunakan model pembelajaran pemetaan pikiran adalah 2,83 (kategori baik) dan (b) rata-rata prestasi aritmatika sosial siswa sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran pemetaan pikiran adalah 58,88 (kategori adil) dan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran mind mapping adalah 84,19 (kategori sangat baik). Selanjutnya,tes, (SPSS versi 16) dan N-Gain, hasilnya menunjukkan nilai signifikan kurang dari 0,05 (0,000 <0,05) dan g = 0,81 (efektif tinggi). Artinya, model pembelajaran mind mapping memiliki efektifitas tinggi pada kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis pada topik aritmatika sosial pada siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the effectiveness of using problem posing learning model on students’ mathematical problem solving ability on the topic of angle size (degrees and radians) at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat. The research was conducted by applying experimental method (one group pretest post test design) with 23 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 214 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it was found: (a) the average of using problem posing learning model was 3.66 (very good category) and (b) the average of students’ angle size achievement before using problem posing learning model was 64.34 (enough category) and after using problem posing learning model was 92.91 ( very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using pair sample ttest, (SPSS version 16), the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, problem posing learning model was effective on students’ mathematical problem solving ability on the topic of angle size (degrees and radians) at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the effectiveness of using inquiry learning model on students’ mathematical problem solving ability on the topic of arithmetic line and sequence at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat. The research was conducted by applying experimental method (one group pretest post test design) with 35 students as the sample and they were taken by using random sampling technique from 172 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it was found: (a) the average of using inquiry learning model was 3.67 (very good category) and (b) the average of students’ arithmetic line and sequence achievement before using inquiry learning model was 65 (enough category) and after using inquiry learning model was 95 (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using pair sample ttest, (SPSS version 16) and N-Gain, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05) and g=0.86 (high effective). It means, inquiry learning model had high effective on students’ mathematical problem solving ability on the topic of arithmetic line and sequence at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) perbedaan motivasi belajar antara siswa yangdiberi pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw dengan pembelajaran tipe think pair share berbantuansoftware autograph, (2) proses jawaban siswa yang diberi pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw danpembelajaran think pair share berbantuan software autograph. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitianeksperimen semu. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMK N.1 Barumun. Dan sampelpenelitian ini adalah kelas X1 dan X2 TKJ (Teknik Komputer Jaringan). Analisis data dilakukan dengananalisis deskriptif dan analisis covarian (ANACOVA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) terdapatperbedaan motivasi belajar antara siswa yang diberi pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw denganpembelajaran tipe think pair share berbantuan software autograph. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil ANACOVAdiperoleh Fhitung 9,802 > Ftabel = 4,01 Konstanta persamaan regresi untuk pembelajaran jigsaw yaitu65,656 lebih besar dari tipe think pair share yaitu 60,166. (2) Proses penyelesaian jawaban siswa denganpembelajaran jigsaw lebih baik karna hampir semua siswa bisa menyelesaikan soal dengan memenuhiindikator dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran tipe think pair share.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada keefektifan yang signifikan menggunakanmodel pembelajaran snowball throwing pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa padatopik sistem persamaan linier dua variabel pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri2 Batang Angkola.Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menerapkan metode eksperimen (one group pretest post test design)dengan sampel 21 siswa dan mereka diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster sampling dari 104siswa. Observasi dan tes digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif, dapatditemukan (1) rata-rata menggunakan model pembelajaran snowball throwing adalah 3,30 (kategorisangat baik) dan (2) rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa pada sistem topikpersamaan linier dua variabel sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran melempar bola salju adalah64.48 (kategori cukup) dan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran melempar bola salju adalah 81.33(kategori sangat baik). Selanjutnya, berdasarkan statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan pair samplettest, (SPSS versi 17), hasilnya menunjukkan nilai signifikan kurang dari 0,05 (0,000 <0,05). Artinya, adakeefektifan penggunaan model pembelajaran snowball throwing pada kemampuan pemecahan masalahmatematis siswa pada topik sistem persamaan linier dua variabel pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri2Batang Angkola.
