Abstract

The ability to mathematically thinkingcritically and creatively is a very important skill for every student in learning mathematics. To improve this ability, it is necessary to have a learning approach that allows students to make observation and exploration in order to build their own knowledge. In general, three-dimensional geometry is difficult to explain by teachers in class and difficult for students to understand. Problem-based learning with SIDIA software is one of the lessons that can be applied in the class. The main objective of this research on three-dimensional geometry is to examine the increase in critical thinking and mathematical creative abilities between students who receive SIDIA software-assisted problem-based learning and students who receive conventional learning, the relationship between mathematical critical and creative thinking abilities, and students' attitudes towards this learning. The subjects of this research are the students of SMA Negeri in Padang City with a sample of class X students. Based on the results of the data analysis, it showed that students who received problem-based learning assisted by SIDIA software are better than students who received conventional learning. There is a significant relationship between the ability to mathematically thinkingcritically and creative, and in general students who get problem-based learning assisted by SIDIA software show a positive attitude.

Abstract

The main problem in this classroom action research is the low activity and learning outcomes of students in thematic learning, which is caused by the teacher's less optimal in delivering learning material during the learning process in the classroom. This can be seen from the results of the tests which identified the low average score of students' daily tests in each subject and through interviews. This research is a classroom action research (PTK). This research was conducted at Raudhatul Jannah Islamic Elementary School in the second semester of the 2014/2015 academic year. The research subjects were 24 grade III students. The data analysis in this study were quantitative and qualitative descriptions. This research was conducted in two cycles, namely the Environmental Theme with the sub-theme of My Home Environment. The results of the study were seen in the observation sheet of student and teacher activities in the learning activities of cycle I and cycle II in the good category. Meanwhile, based on the results of the first cycle test, the students completed individually as many as 16 out of 24 students. With 67% classical completeness. Whereas in cycle 2 students who completed individually were 22 out of 24 students with 92% classical completeness. It can be concluded that using visual media can increase the activity and thematic learning outcomes of students in grade 3.

Abstract

The integrated thematic textbook developed by the government and becoming a learning resource for elementary students already has the characteristics of literacy learning. However, using them for studying online is less effective. Therefore it is necessary to develop a teaching material that uses an online program/media which can be a reading source as well as a place to do exercises. This research is a development research using the Borg and Galls design. The evaluation method used refers to a formative evaluation design consisting of expert reviews and small group evaluations. The validity data were collected through the validation of teaching materials by 5 experts and analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques. Practicality data were collected through observing the implementation of learning, and filling out questionnaires by teachers and students. The collected data from observations and questionnaires were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The results showed that the average expert and practitioner assessment of the content validity was 3.12 with the valid category and the construct validity 3.15 with the valid category. The average practicality assessment by students was 3.24 and by the teacher 3.25. This shows that the teaching materials developed are very practical. It can be concluded that literacy-based integrated thematic teaching materials using Microsoft Sway for grade V elementary school students developed are valid and very practical.

Abstract

Based on the initial survey in the field, the performance of the teachers of SMKN 1 Palembanyan seems still low, it is estimated that low teacher performance is caused by low teacher work motivation and lack of implementation of school principal supervision. This quantitative research aims to reveal the contribution of principal supervision and work motivation to the performance of teachers of SMKN Palembayan. The hypotheses proposed in this study are 3 hypotheses 1) the supervision of the principal takes effect on teacher performance; 2) Work motivation takes effect on teacher performance, and 3) Principal supervision and work motivation together contribute to teacher performance. The population of this study were all 37 teachers of SMKN 1 Palembanyan, so the sample in this study amounted to 28 teachers, not including the principal, the vice principal because the principal, and the deputy principal were the people who acted as supervisors. While the research data was collected through a questionnaire in the form of a Likert scale after being tested for validity and reliability. Based on the analysis of the research data, it was revealed that the supervision of the principal made a significant influence on teacher performance by 36,4% and work motivation made a significant influence on teacher performance by 24,7%. Together, principal supervision and work motivation influence 37.0% of teacher performance, and the remaining 63.0% was determined by other variables. Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that the two independent variables, namely the supervision of the principal and work motivation, play a very important role in improving teacher performance, in addition to other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

From the results of the initial study at SMKN 2 Padang, it turns out that the learning outcomes of students at SMKN 2 Padang are still low. Student learning outcomes are determined by many factors, including students' perceptions of vocational education (internal) and career information (external). This study aims to reveal the relationship between students' perceptions of vocational education and career information on student learning outcomes of SMKN 2 Padang. There are three hypotheses proposed in this study, namely; the relationship between student perceptions of vocational education to student learning outcomes of SMKN 2 Padang, the relationship of career information to student learning outcomes of SMKN 2 Padang, and the relationship between student perceptions of vocational education and information together on student learning outcomes of SMKN 2 Padang. For this study, the population used was 440 people with a sample of 82 students of class XII SMKN 2 Padang who were taken by using a stratified proportional random sampling technique. The instrument used is in the form of a questionnaire with a Linkert scale model which has been tested for validity and reliability in advance. The results of this study reveal that; 1) there is a strong relationship between students' perceptions of vocational education on student learning outcomes of SMKN 2 Padang of 0.598 or 59.8%, 2) there is a strong relationship between career information and student learning outcomes of SMKN 2 Padang of 0.467 or 46.7% and 3) there is a strong relationship between students' perceptions of vocational education and career information together on student learning outcomes of SMKN 2 Padang which is significant at 0.599 or 59.9%. Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that students' perceptions of vocational education and career information are two important factors that have a strong relationship with student learning outcomes of SMKN 2 Padang. Therefore, it is suggested to the parties concerned to pay attention to these two factors so that the learning outcomes of students at SMKN 2 Padang can increase.

Abstract

The problem of Adolescent Reproductive Health (KESPRO) from time to time is increasing both qualitatively and quantitatively due to a lack of understanding of sexual and reproductive health. This study aims to determine the differences in the method of counseling and simulation games on the level of students' knowledge of reproductive health (KESPRO). The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a non-randomized control group pre-test-post-test which was conducted at State Senior High School 4 (SMAN 4) Padang City. The results showed that the extension method did not increase students' knowledge scores. Retention of students' knowledge after 3 days and 1 week of intervention with the extension method also did not increase students' knowledge scores. Based on the difference in the average score of students' knowledge about KESPRO after 1 week of intervention, the simulation game method group (1.04) was greater than the extension method (0.01) this means that the simulation game method can be better in maintaining memory students after 1 week of intervention about an information.
