Abstract

Aims: A study of birth mothers in England showed that 93.5% of women described severe or unbearable pain. Pain that cannot be handled alone will result in anxiety and stress. Anxiety can cause labor to go slow. Stress increases catecholamine and interferes with the release of oxytocin resulting in decreased blood flow to the uterus resulting in acidosis and hypoxia in the fetus. For mothers giving birth, it can reduce uterine contractions, so that labor will take longer. The gate control theory states that many factors influence an individual's perception of pain intensity, and some of these factors are psychological, not physiological. One of the factors that can be done is that midwives can provide mental support by providing good communication to mothers during labor, which is known as Therapeutic Communication. Methods: This research employs a Quasy Experimental research design with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, with a total sample size of 44 respondents. The T-Test is used to process data. Results: The results showed that there was an effect of providing therapeutic communication in reducing the intensity of labor pain in mothers in the first active phase of labor at Cengkareng Hospital with a p value <0.005, namely a p value obtained 0.000. Conclusions : There is an effect of the application of therapeutic communication on reducing labor pain in mothers in the active phase of the first stage of labour. Suggestion: It is expected to be able to apply therapeutic communication to mothers in labor.

Abstract

Aims: The most common nutritional problem in adolescents, especially young women, is iron deficiency or anemia. The World Health Organization (WHO) in 2015 reported that more than 30% or 2 billion adolescents in the world are anemic and in developing countries, one of them is Indonesia. Riskesdas data (2018) shows 32% have anemia in the 15-24 year age group. The cause of anemia is due to lack of iron and the impact of anemia is stunted growth, the body is susceptible to infection, reduced body fitness, and decreased enthusiasm for learning. Mung bean essence is a drink that contains 13.41 mg of iron in 100 gr/100 ml. Objective: To analyze the effect of green bean extract (Vigna radita L.) on blood hemoglobin (Hb) levels during menstruation in female adolescents at SMA Negeri I Ketapang Method: Pre-experimental design with one group pre-post test. The sampling technique used a purposive sample, namely 44 young women at SMA N 1 Ketapang. Data analysis with Wilcoxon test Results: Hb levels before being given mung beans, the average value was 11.31 gr/dL, the lowest Hb level was 9 and the highest was 13. Meanwhile, after being given mung beans, the average respondent's Hb level was 12.90 gr/dL with the lowest level is 11 gr/dL and the highest is 14 gr/dL. The results of the Wilcoxon test found a p-value of 0.000 <0.05 meaning that there was an effect of giving green bean extract (Vigna Radita L.) on blood hemoglobin (Hb) levels during menstruation in young women at SMA Negeri I Ketapang. Conclusions : mung bean extract affects the Hb level of female adolescents during menstruation. It is hoped that teenagers can use mung bean extract as an option in an effort to increase Hb to prevent anemia in adolescents, especially young women.

Abstract

Aims: Patients with renal failure who are in the final stage require replacement therapy for kidney function to maintain their survival such as kidney transplantation, hemodialysis and Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) therapy. Failure of kidney function can cause overload complications. In order to avoid complications from overload, good precautions must be taken, namely adherence to limiting fluid. Compliance must be based on the level of knowledge of the individual itself. The higher the level of knowledge is more open by carrying out compliance in limiting fluid in chronic renal failure with hemodialysis. Main Objectives: Knowing the Determinants of Overload Occurrence in Chronic Kidney Failure with Hemodialysis at the Indonesian Christian University Hospital in 2019. Research Method: Analytical Method, the sample in this study were all chronic renal failure patients who performed routine hemodialysis in the UKI Hemodialysis Hospital in February 2019 and the instruments used in this study used a questionnaire of 56 respondents. So the sampling method in this study is incidental sampling. Results: From the results of the Chi Squere test, the researchers obtained p-value <0.05, meaning that there was a relationship between age, type, sex, education, duration of hemodialysis, knowledge and adherence to overload. Suggestion: It is expected that health workers in the HD room of the Christian University Hospital will provide knowledge to clients and families through routine counseling and education about overloaded kidney failure and risks if they do not comply with fluid restrictions. If the client has knowledge about overload, the liquid compliance will be greater.

Abstract

Aims: In 2020, the WHO estimated that as many as 295,000 women died during and after pregnancy and childbirth. Ninety percent of maternal deaths are caused by complications that arise during and after delivery, including hemorrhaging. Misoprostol, a prostaglandin analogue, is useful for treating postpartum hemorrhage for a number of reasons, including its efficiency, low cost, stability in heat, user-friendliness, and low risk of adverse effects. Oxytocin is a medication frequently used to induce labor. Methods : Quasi experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study were all 18 pregnant women who experienced postpartum hemorrhage at TPMB "I" in June-December 2022, the sampling technique was total sampling. Results : The average postpartum bleeding in laboring mothers before misoprostol and oxytocin was 406.39, and it was 141.67 afterward. Misoprostol and oxytocin are beneficial in reducing postpartum hemorrhage in TPMB "I" patients from June to December 2022 (p.value 0.000). Conclusions : There is an effectiveness of using misoprostol and oxytocin in postpartum hemorrhage. It is expected that midwives can provide services in normal delivery using misoprostol and oxytocin safely.
