Abstract

Aims: As people get older, numerous cardiovascular disorders, including hypertension, which many older people have, will become more prevalent. Music therapy, as a non-pharmacological therapy, can be used to reduce blood pressure and anxiety in hypertensive patients. Objective: This literature review aims to determine the effectiveness of types music therapy that can reduce anxiety and blood pressure in the elderly with hypertension. Methods: To conduct a type of literature review, 10 articles that discuss the effectiveness of music therapy in lowering blood pressure and anxiety in hypertensive patients were searched for. The databases used are Pubmed, Google Scholar, and Science Direct, by entering keywords. The inclusion criteria used for data collection were full text, type of research (RCT, quasi-experimental, and pre-experimental), in English and Indonesian, and journal publishing from 2018 to 2023. Result: Ten relevant articles, including 505 respondents, were extracted in this study. Most of the studies (70%) showed significant results, showing that music therapy (traditional, classical, and spiritual) was effective in reducing high blood pressure and anxiety. Favorite music has a stronger effect than foreign music, such as traditional music, which has a deeper emotional impact on the elderly. Conclusion: Music therapy is effective in reducing blood pressure and anxiety in the elderly, and besides that, it is cost-effective and easy to use. Further research on the application of traditional music types is needed to determine the effectiveness of the music.

The sample technique used is convenience sampling with a total number of research subjects as many as 245 nurses and 54 doctors with a total of 299 respondents. The multivariate test uses simple linear regression. Results: The mean score of disaster preparedness among nurse was 137.33 (SD=16.79) and doctor was 136.07 (SD=17.40), dengan p-value 0.799. There was a significant relationship between preparedness and knowledge (r = 0.658, p-value = 0.000), attitude (r = 0.602, p-value = 0.0000), role (r = 0.541, p-value = 0.000), and organization (r = 0.610, p-value 0.000). Knowledge (B = 1.40 (95% CI = 0.62 - 2.19, p-value = 0.00), role (B = 0.94 (95% CI = 0.50 - 1.38, p-value = 0.001), and organization (B = 1.01 (95% CI = - 0.1 - 2.13, p-value = 0.035) had a significant relationship with the preparedness of medical personnel for natural disaster management with a R2 value of 0.58. Abstract

Aims: Gastritis is an acute or chronic inflammation of the mucous lining of the stomach wall, and it commonly affects students with a heavy lecture load. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of a combination of online and offline health promotion on the prevention of gastritis in nursing undergraduate students. Methods: This study examines the efficacy of health promotion using magnification media and leaflets for the prevention of gastritis. It employs the Cross Sectional method to assess independent and dependent variables. Using a random sample of 176 first-year students, 153 samples were divided into two groups: magnification and leaflet media. Normality tests and paired T tests are utilized to determine the impact of independent variables. Results: Show of Bivariate Analysis with Paired T Test with a sample of 153 respondents (N = 153) obtained data that T - count (21.345), T - Table (0.662) and the p.Value is (0.004) alpha value (0.05) which means there is a difference in the initial level students of Stikes Abdi Nusantara about preventing gastritis after being given education through zoom media and leaflets. Conclusions: Based on the result that 121 students had a good diet, while 21% had an adequate diet. Gastritis, caused by improper dietary habits, is more common among women. Stress levels were found to be a significant factor in gastritis incidence. Education through Zoom media and leaflets significantly improved initial-year students' knowledge of gastritis prevention.

Abstract

Aims: Hypertension is a condition of increased blood pressure that causes the heart to work harder to circulate blood throughout the body. Patients with hypertension more frequently complain of headaches. Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) is a non-pharmacological treatment to overcome hypertension, headache symptoms, and maintain a deep relaxation state. Objective: The study aimed to determine PMR's effects on blood pressure and headache in hypertensive patients. Methods: This study utilized a quasi-experimental design with one group pretest and posttest design. A sample of 30 respondents with hypertension and headaches was obtained through convenience sampling. Data were then analyzed using paired t-test. Results: The results showed a decrease in blood pressure and headache intensity after administrated PMR. The number of respondents with stage 2 hypertension decreased from nine (30%) in the pretest to zero respondents (0%) in the posttest. There was a significant effect of giving PMR to clients with increased blood pressure accompanied by headaches (p-value of 0.000). Conclusion: PMR is a significant measure that can be used to reduce blood pressure and headache. It can be done independently from ten to 15 minutes daily for a more effective outcome. Therefore, it is suggested that clients with increased blood pressure can do the PMR exercise independently every day for 10-15 minutes to reduce blood pressure and headache intensity.

Abstract

Aims: One way to overcome the Covid-19 outbreak is by intra-hospital management. Fast and accurate management is needed to prevent complications and death in Covid-19. Early detection efforts to detect worsening of Covid-19 patients greatly help prevent more severe complications and death. This study aims to determine the factors of implementing the patient's EWSS in an effort to detect the worsening of Covid-19 in the treatment room at one of the hospitals in East Jakarta. Methods: The research uses descriptive analytic method with a cross sectional approach. Respondents are nurses who are experienced in treating Covid-19 patients in the treatment room with a total of 121 respondents. Bivariate data analysis used the Somers'd test, multiple ordinal regression multivariate test and partial Wald test. Result: Two factors were found that were significantly related to the implementation of EWSS in Covid-19 patients in the treatment room at the hospital, namely the level of knowledge and nurse compliance. Conclusion: This study recommends efforts to increase nurses' knowledge and compliance regarding the implementation of EWSS for Covid-19 patients through regular training, workshops and good supervision.
