Abstract

In response to the need for effective and interactive evaluation tools in Arabic language learning, this study aims to develop a Quizizz-based evaluation instrument for use at the Madrasah Aliyah level, employing the ADDIE instructional design model. The research involves a comprehensive process including needs analysis, item development aligned with curriculum standards, validation by content and media experts, limited trials with students, and product evaluation. Expert validation indicates a high level of content accuracy and media effectiveness, while feedback from teachers and students confirms the instrument’s practicality and ease of implementation. The results also highlight the application’s advantages in facilitating fast, accurate, and engaging assessments. Although the development faced several challenges, such as limited technological infrastructure and user proficiency, it was supported by strengths including the platform’s user-friendly design, interactive features, and efficiency in generating instant feedback. This study contributes to Arabic language pedagogy by integrating digital innovation into formative assessment practices suitable for faith-based and resource-limited educational environments.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of interactive media in improving Arabic literacy in secondary school students, focusing on the use of digital platforms and immersive technologies such as AR/VR. The research method used is a descriptive approach with qualitative analysis. The main findings indicate that the use of interactive media has a positive impact on improving students' understanding of Arabic vocabulary, grammar, and cultural context. However, challenges such as limited access to adequate technology and lack of training for teachers in integrating this technology into learning are still obstacles. This study also identified differences in students' comfort levels with technology, which affect the effectiveness of learning. Based on these findings, this study recommends increasing access to technology in schools, further training for teachers, and developing a curriculum that is more integrated with digital media. With these steps, it is hoped that Arabic language learning can be more effective and relevant to the needs of the digital era

Abstract

Effective learning strategies are the key to motivating students in the midst of increasingly complex educational challenges. Without sufficient motivation, students' learning potential is difficult to develop, even though the teaching methods used are very diverse. This study aims to analyze the effect of using the Talking Stick strategy to increase students' learning motivation. This research uses a quantitative approach. This approach is applied to certain samples or populations, whether randomly selected or not, with data collection using instruments and quantitative data analysis. The type of research used is experimental, which aims to determine the effect of an action and test hypotheses regarding the comparison of the effects of these actions. The results of this study indicate that the use of the Talking Stick strategy has a significant effect on increasing student learning motivation, with a significance value of 0.000, which means <0.05, so Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. Significant differences can be seen from the comparison of pretest and posttest questionnaire results, where the pretest showed a value of 22.15 (44%, sufficient motivation) and the posttest reached 36.85 (74%, high motivation). This shows an increase in student motivation after being given the treatment, from the moderate category to the high.

Abstract

Developing effective Arabic language instruction in the digital era requires the integration of innovative media that are both accessible and pedagogically sound. This study explores the development and application of the KineMaster application as an ICT-based tool to support Arabic language learning in Islamic educational settings. The research is driven by the need to enhance student engagement, contextual understanding, and teacher creativity through multimedia learning materials. Using the ADDIE development model comprising Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation, this study focused on the creation of animated video content tailored to Arabic learning themes. Data were collected through classroom observations and teacher reflections. The findings demonstrate that KineMaster enables teachers to produce visually engaging and thematically coherent materials that improve student motivation and comprehension. The application proved effective in both face-to-face and online learning contexts, offering a flexible and user-friendly platform for instructional innovation. This research suggests that KineMaster can serve as a practical alternative for developing creative and interactive Arabic learning media in line with 21st-century educational practices.

Abstract

Developing speaking skills (maharah kalam) in Arabic requires instructional strategies that emphasize active engagement, structured practice, and contextual relevance. This study investigates the application of the Mimicry Memorization method in enhancing students’ speaking proficiency at Tarbiyatul Muhibbin Junior High School, Banyuwangi. Grounded in the need to address common challenges such as low confidence, poor pronunciation, and limited oral fluency, the research focuses on three key areas: the procedural stages of method implementation, the interactional dynamics during mimicry practice, and the method’s overall contribution to students’ speaking performance. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were gathered through classroom observations, interviews with Arabic teachers and students, and document analysis. The findings reveal that structured repetition and guided imitation foster greater student confidence, improve pronunciation, and enhance participation in speaking activities. This study highlights the value of imitation-based methods in Arabic pedagogy and suggests that Mimicry Memorization can serve as an effective strategy for cultivating communicative competence in faith-based language education.

Abstract

In the context of Islamic education in Indonesia, classical Arabic texts are commonly used as reference materials, yet their complexity often requires careful translation to ensure accessibility for learners. This study aims to examine the translation techniques applied in the Indonesian version of Matan Tuhfatul Athfal, specifically in the section discussing the rules of Nun Sukun and Tanwin in tajwid. Using a qualitative descriptive design, this research employs documentation-based data collection and applies the Miles and Huberman model for data analysis, including data reduction, display, verification, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal the use of eight translation techniques by the translator: pure borrowing, literal translation, reduction, transposition, calque, amplification, adaptation, and modulation. These techniques reflect a dynamic approach that balances terminological fidelity with pedagogical clarity, enabling Indonesian readers to grasp complex grammatical and phonetic concepts. Although the study focuses only on a limited portion of the text, it contributes to the broader understanding of religious text translation and suggests the need for further research to explore the application of these techniques across other sections of Tuhfatul Athfal.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of communicative-based short videos as learning media for Maharah Kalam at Islamic High School State. The specific objectives of this research include: (1) describing the needs of teachers and students towards the use of communicative-based short videos, (2) designing short video-based learning media design, (3) evaluating the validity of learning media through expert testing, and (4) measuring the effectiveness of media in improving students' speaking skills. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method by adapting the Borg and Gall steps which are simplified into five stages: identification of potential and problems, data collection, product design, product validation, and product revision. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques were carried out by triangulating sources for qualitative data, as well as data validity tests for quantitative data. The results showed that the need for video-based media in learning Maharah Kalam was very high, with the average score of the student needs questionnaire reaching 76.09%. The short video design was developed using the VlogNow application with a communicative approach involving preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. Material expert validation scored 87.5%, while media expert validation scored 88.3%, both in the valid category. After the product revision, this learning media proved to be effective in improving students' speaking skills. Therefore, this media can be used as a reference for educators in developing technology-based learning methods that are more communicative and interactive.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) method in Arabic language learning to develop students' literacy skills. PBL is applied as an innovative approach that encourages students to actively learn through relevant and contextual projects. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the application of PBL improves literacy skills, such as reading, writing, speaking, and listening in Arabic while motivating students to learn collaboratively and creatively. PBL also helps students develop 21st-century skills, such as problem-solving and critical thinking. However, this study has limitations in terms of sample coverage and duration of implementation. Therefore, further research is recommended to expand the scope and explore the integration of technology in PBL. The contribution of this study is to provide new insights into the application of PBL in the context of Arabic language learning to improve students' literacy skills as a whole.
