Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on students’ learning interest at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Swasta in Belawa Subdistrict, Wajo Regency. The research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental research design, specifically a pre-experimental design using the one-group pretest-posttest model. The study involved two variables: the independent variable, namely the implementation of the PBL learning model, and the dependent variable, namely students’ learning interest. The population of this study consisted of all fourth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Swasta in Belawa Subdistrict, Wajo Regency, totaling 257 students. The research sample comprised 41 fourth-grade students who were selected as the participants. The instruments used in this study were a student learning interest questionnaire and an observation sheet on the implementation of the PBL model, both of which had been validated by experts (validators). The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics to test the research hypothesis. The results revealed that the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model had a significant effect on students’ interest in learning science at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Swasta in Belawa Subdistrict, Wajo Regency. Based on the hypothesis testing, a significance value of 0.003 < 0.05 was obtained, indicating that H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there was a significant difference in students’ learning interest before and after the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Akidah Akhlak learning program and its impact on shaping the character of social concern and humility among fifth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Darud Da’wah Wal Irsyad Bottoe. A qualitative research approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews with the head of the madrasah, Akidah Akhlak teacher, classroom teachers, and parents, as well as through participatory observation and documentation studies. The findings show that the implementation of Akidah Akhlak learning at MI DDI Bottoe is well-planned, age-appropriate, and integrates local values. Experiential learning and discussion methods serve as the main approaches, supported by value inculcation through exemplary stories and routine practices within the madrasah environment, such as congregational Dhuha prayers and classroom duties. Student character evaluation is conducted qualitatively, focusing on individual development. However, the madrasah faces several challenges, including limited instructional time, differing parental understanding, and the negative influence of social media. The key findings reveal a positive and significant impact of Akidah Akhlak learning on students’ behavioral changes. In terms of social concern, students demonstrate greater initiative in helping friends and neighbors, as well as an increased willingness to share. Regarding humility, students become more open to feedback, avoid showing off, and learn to appreciate the contributions of others to their achievements. Consistency in habituation at school and exemplary behavior from families play crucial roles in strengthening the internalization of these values. This study concludes that Akidah Akhlak learning is effective in shaping students’ noble character.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and describe magical realism in the novel Inteligensi Embun Pagi by Dee Lestari using the framework of magical realism proposed by Wendy B. Faris. According to Faris, magical realism consists of five characteristics: (1) the irreducible element, (2) the phenomenal world, (3) unsettling doubts, (4) the merging of realms, and (5) disruptions of time, space, and identity. The data in this study consist of words, phrases, sentences, expressions, and paragraphs that contain elements of magical realism. The data source is the novel Inteligensi Embun Pagi by Dee Lestari. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collection techniques involving reading and note-taking. The results of the study indicate that there are narrative elements reflecting magical realism based on Wendy B. Faris’s framework in the novel Inteligensi Embun Pagi, including irreducible elements, the phenomenal world, unsettling doubts, the merging of realms, and disruptions of time, space, and identity. Furthermore, the findings reveal that the novel Inteligensi Embun Pagi, when analyzed through Faris’s magical realism perspective, is closely related to magical elements. This is evident in the presence of magical objects, characters, and events, such as characters possessing particular powers, the appearance of figures from other dimensions, and events that are difficult to accept through human rationality.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the psychological trauma reflected in the collection of poems by Chairil Anwar based on Carl Gustav Jung’s theory, namely the personal unconscious, the collective unconscious, and complexes. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method, which examines in depth the forms of psychological trauma based on the personal unconscious, the collective unconscious, and complexes. The data source of this study is a collection of poems by Chairil Anwar entitled Aku Ini Binatang Jalang, published by Gramedia Pustaka Utama in Jakarta in 1986. The data collection techniques used in this study are observation and documentation, in the form of notes or photographic records from the poetry collection Aku Ini Binatang Jalang by Chairil Anwar that are relevant to this research. The results of this study indicate that psychological trauma is reflected in Chairil Anwar’s poems through the dimensions of the personal unconscious, the collective unconscious, and complexes. The personal unconscious refers to personal experiences that have been repressed or forgotten but still influence an individual’s behavior. The collective unconscious refers to universal human experiences that are inherited across generations. Meanwhile, complexes refer to clusters of emotionally charged ideas or observations centered on particular themes that exert a strong influence on an individual.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the quality of faith and Morals learning through the use of learning resources for second-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah DDI Mareto, Tanete Rilau District, Barru Regency. This research is a qualitative study. Data collection was conducted using observation, interviews, and documentation methods. The data was then analyzed using descriptive analytical techniques. Data validity was examined using data triangulation, which involved comparing the observation data with the interview data and documentation results. The results are as follows: (1) How is the learning process of students through the use of printed books on faith and morals among second- grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah DDI Mareto in Tanete Rilau District, Barru Regency? (2) The development of improvements in the quality of Aqidah Akhlak learning through the use of printed books among second-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah DDI Mareto, Tanete Rilau District, Barru Regency.

Abstract

Access to appropriate learning media for blind students in higher education remains limited, particularly in the area of Braille literacy. This situation highlights the urgent need for assistive technology that enables students to learn independently and engage actively in the learning process. This study aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)–based Braille letter recognition teaching aid to support accessibility and learning autonomy for blind students, especially those in the Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program at Universitas Islam Makassar. The development procedure includes user needs analysis, system and hardware design, as well as device prototyping using an Arduino Mega microcontroller integrated with an MP3 shield for audio guidance and solenoid actuators for Braille output. The results show that the device provides interactive learning experiences through voice instructions and accurate tactile Braille patterns that users can recognize independently. The integration of IoT technology also enables remote access, reducing dependence on classroom-based learning and expanding learning opportunities. These findings indicate that IoT-based assistive tools can contribute significantly to building inclusive learning environments in higher education. The study recommends continued collaboration between academic programs and Disability Service Units to refine the device and enhance its adaptability to users’ needs.
