Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the improvement of students' reading interest ability through the application of reading aloud strategies with contextual models in class V Inpres Elementary School, East Nusa Tenggara. This research is classroom action research, which was conducted in two cycles and each cycle. The subjects of this study were 1 teacher and 20 students of class V of Inpres Elementary School, East Nusa Tenggara. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, tests, and documentation. The results showed that reading ability only reached 60.5 and was in the sufficient category. Then after applying the reading aloud strategy in cycle I the average student reading ability increased to 70 and was in the good category. In Cycle II, the average reading ability of students increased further, reaching 80.5 or in the excellent category. It can be concluded that the reading aloud strategy with a contextual model can foster the interest in reading of grade V students at Inpres Elementary School, East Nusa Tenggara.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to find out the entrepreneurial planning of tutoring for the independent entrepreneurship program, to find out the implementation of entrepreneurship tutoring in the independent entrepreneurship program. This type of research, this research is categorized as a type of qualitative descriptive research. Researchers use qualitative descriptive research because the data obtained is in the form of words and language in a special, natural context and by utilizing various natural methods. The research design used in this research is the triangulation method in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of observations of planning activities and implementation of entrepreneurial tutoring in the independent entrepreneurship program. The samples in this research were fellow independent entrepreneurs and Ganesha Operation mentors in Makassar City. The results of this research show that the tutor's efforts help students overcome various learning problems carried out at home. The meaning of tutoring planning is to provide additional material to improve the learning outcomes of students who are classified as having difficulty understanding the lesson material presented by the teacher. The implementation of tutoring is carried out from house to house to help busy parents to provide learning facilities for their children by following tutoring. Regarding the curriculum used in this tutoring, it uses the latest curriculum developments that are relevant to learning in schools.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to describe the forms of silence and slips of the tongue in speech production among students at the Faculty of Education, Puangrimaggalatung University. The method used in this research is a qualitative method. In this research, the data collection techniques used were observation, recording, recording and documentation techniques. The results of the research show that there are forms of silence and slips of the tongue in speech production in the discussion process of student groups at the Faculty of Education, Puangrimaggalatung University. The form of silence in speech production in student discussions at the Faculty of Education, Puangrimaggalatung University is divided into two parts, namely silent silence and filled silence. In this study, there were 22 types of speech which were silent silences and 25 speech types which were included in filled silences. Furthermore, the slip of the tongue form is divided into two, namely the slip of the tongue caused by incorrect semantic selection consisting of 12 utterances and the slip of the tongue due to the assembling of 27 utterances when producing utterances in student discussions at the Faculty of Education, Puangrimaggalatung University.

Abstract

Abstract: This research analyzes the Cinderella story through the perspective of progressivism philosophy initiated by John Dewey, which emphasizes the importance of direct experience and developing critical thinking skills and creativity in the educational process. The aim of this research is to explore and examine the values contained in the Cinderella story that can be used in progressive education. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method, where data is obtained from analysis of the text of the Cinderella story. This analysis focuses on story elements that are relevant to the concept of progressivism, such as Cinderella's life experiences, problem solving, and the learning process faced by the main character. This data is then connected to progressive education theory to show the relevance of this story in the context of modern learning. The research results show that the Cinderella story has many aspects that can be linked to the principles of progressivism. This story provides many examples of experiences that are relevant to real life, such as perseverance in facing challenges and the ability to adapt in difficult situations. These values are very important in developing students' critical thinking skills and creativity, especially in experience-oriented education. The story of Cinderella can be used as an effective educational tool in experience-based learning, in accordance with the principles of progressivism philosophy.

Abstract

Abstract: This study discusses the role of digital literacy and traditional literacy in student character building in the 21st century education era. The rapid development of information technology requires students to not only be able to access information, but also to select and use information wisely. Digital literacy helps students face global challenges with critical and creative skills, while traditional literacy remains relevant in building moral and ethical values. The balance between these two types of literacy is crucial in shaping students with strong character, critical thinking and competitiveness in the midst of globalization. This article concludes that balanced and wise literacy can strengthen character education in preparing a generation ready to face the challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

In the 21st century, communication skills have become the main competency that must be possessed to face global challenges and build national identity. The Indonesian School of Davao (SID) provides Indonesian language tutoring for students born and raised in the Philippines. This article aimed to review these guidance activities from the perspective of the philosophy of science, covering practical, theoretical, and philosophical foundations, as well as their contribution to students and teachers in the educational context at SID. Researchers used the library study research method, which uses library materials or literature as the main source of information. The results showed that language guidance and literacy programs practically helped students adapt to a multilingual environment and strengthen national identity. In theory, language learning is based on language acquisition theory which emphasizes the importance of social interaction, reinforcement, and contextual learning to motivate students. Philosophically, the Indonesian language is seen as a symbol of national identity, which is the main means of instilling national values, shaping students' character, and preparing them to contribute to global society.

Abstract

This article discusses the role of literature in shaping students' character through a holistic educational approach. Literature is understood from two perspectives: as a science that teaches critical analysis of moral and social values, and as an art that emphasizes aesthetic experience and the development of empathy. In addition, literary genres such as poetry, prose, and drama enrich students' understanding of the diversity of human expression. Literary movements such as romanticism, realism, naturalism, and modernism show how socio-cultural changes affect literary works. Through this understanding, students are invited to think critically, develop moral sensitivity, and build social awareness, so that literature becomes an important instrument in character education.

Abstract

Pembelajaran kinestetik memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam perkembangan anak usia dini, khususnya dalam meningkatkan keterampilan motorik kasar, koordinasi tubuh, serta keterampilan kognitif, sosial, dan emosional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan pembelajaran kinestetik di taman kanak-kanak di wilayah Sulawesi Selatan, dengan fokus pada ketersediaan sarana, persepsi guru, serta hambatan yang dihadapi dalam implementasinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa survei dan wawancara. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 100 guru dari 50 taman kanak-kanak, yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan angket untuk mengukur persepsi guru terhadap pembelajaran kinestetik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar guru menganggap pentingnya pembelajaran kinestetik, namun terdapat beberapa kendala seperti keterbatasan alat dan fasilitas, kurangnya pelatihan untuk guru, serta keterbatasan waktu dalam jadwal pembelajaran yang terstruktur. Berdasarkan temuan ini, disarankan agar taman kanak-kanak meningkatkan fasilitas pendukung, mengadakan pelatihan untuk guru, serta memberikan fleksibilitas dalam kurikulum untuk mengoptimalkan penerapan pembelajaran kinestetik. Dengan langkah-langkah tersebut, diharapkan pembelajaran kinestetik dapat lebih efektif dalam mendukung perkembangan holistik anak usia dini.

Abstract

One technique proven to enhance students' speaking abilities is the use of role-play technique. This research aimed to give a more thorough description of factors causing speaking anxiety on students and how role-play technique can be used to reduce their anxiety in speaking. This research is a literature study by collecting several articles or journals from different trusted sources related to the notion of factors causing speaking anxiety and the effect of role-play in reducing student’s anxiety in speaking. The findings were carrying out with some stages starting from searching and finding relevant data, analysing the data obtained, and finally presenting ideas from the findings. The result of this research showed that there were several factors causing anxiety on the students` speaking performances such as (1) lack of preparation, (2) lack of self-confidence, (3) poor pronunciation, (4) low English proficiency, (5) fear of negative evaluation,(6) fear of making mistakes, (7) fear of being laughed at, (8) fear of facing the unpredictable question, (9) limited grammatical knowledge, and (10) undeveloped vocabulary. In addition, the results of this research revealed that using role-play techniques in the teaching-learning process could help the students reduce their speaking anxiety in the classroom.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the application of the Assisted Learning model in improvingshort story writing skills in class IX SMP Jaya Negara Makassar. The type of research used usedclassroom action research (PTK). This research design uses the Kurt Lewin model which includesplanning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The population of this study were allninth-grade students of SMP Jaya Negara Makassar as many as 21 students. Collection techniques werecarried out by observation, tests, and observation of teacher and student activities. The data collectedwere then analyzed descriptively based on the assessment criteria for understanding short story textwriting in the form of written tests. The results showed that the application of the assisted learningmodel was able to improve the ability to write short stories in class IX SMP Jaya Negara Makassar. Theresults obtained based on the results of cycle II who obtained the KKM score> 75 increased to 18students or (85.7%).
