Abstract

Abstrak:Awal munculnya istilah “Mathematical Thinking” merujuk kepada istilah dari buku yang sangat terkenal berjudul Thinking Mathematically dengan jumlah sitasi saat ini mencapai 1781. Buku ini ditulis oleh John Mason dengan Leone Burton dan Kaye Stacey tahun 1982. Buku ini menjadi rujukan dari beberapa peneliti lainnya. Di buku ini, Mathematical Thinking proses dibagi menjadi 2 pasang proses yaitu Specialising and Generalising kemudian Conjecturing and Convincing. Namun, istilah “Mathematical Thinking”memiliki beberapa pergeseran makna sesuai dengan perkembangan dari tahun ke tahun. Selain itu, paper ini juga membahas kaitan antara “Mathematical Thinking” atau berpikir matematis dengan ways of understanding dan ways of thinking. Kata Kunci: Mathematical Thinking; ways of understanding; ways of thinking Abstract:Early term of "Mathematical Thinking" refers to the term from a very famous book entitled Thinking Mathematically with the current number of citations reaching 1781. This book was written by John Mason with Leone Burton and Kaye Stacey in 1982. This book became a reference for several other researchers. In this book, the Mathematical Thinking process is divided into 2 pairs of processes, namely Specializing and Generalising then Conjecturing and Convincing. However, the meaning of mathematical thinking has changed according to developments from year to year. In addition, this paper also discusses the relationship between "Mathematical Thinking" with ways of understanding and ways of thinking.conclusions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pemecahan masalah numerasi siswa kelas VIII MTs berdasarkan tahapan Polya pada materi SPLDV. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah 9 siswa di salah satu kelas VIII MTs di Kota Kediri. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu masalah numerasi dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nampak proses pemecahan masalah siswa berdasarkan tahapan Polya yang meliputi memahami masalah, menyusun rencana, melaksanakan rencana, dan memeriksa kembali. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah pada proses memahami masalah, siswa cenderung menuliskan apa yang diketahui dan ditanyakan berdasarkan informasi penting, serta merepresentasikan masalah dalam bentuk pemisalan variabel dan model matematika. Pada proses menyusun rencana, siswa memilih metode substitusi atau campuran untuk digunakan sebagai penyelesaian masalah, serta menentukan rencana penyelesaian dengan berurutan. Pada proses melaksanakan rencana, siswa menyelesaikan masalah sesuai dengan metode dan rencana yang disusun sebelumnya. Pada proses memeriksa kembali, siswa cenderung mengecek kebenaran jawaban dengan mensubstitusikan setiap nilai variabel ke dalam model matematika.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Mathematics Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on character education strengthening using the ADDIE model research design which consists of 5 stages, namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This research was conducted on fourth grade students with the number of respondents being 20 students. This research and development instrument uses a validation sheet, and student response questionnaires. The results of the material expert validation test with a total score of 62 and are in the range of X scores > 58.74 with the "very good" category. The results of the display expert validation test with a total score of 48 and are in the score range of 44.2 < X 54.6 with the "good" category. The results of the student response questionnaire on the feasibility of using the Mathematics Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on strengthening character education developed obtained a score of 218 obtained from the number of "Yes" points and the percentage of the overall components reached 83% in the "good" category. So it can be concluded that the Mathematics Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on strengthening character education is valid and effective to be used as teaching material in character building in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difficulties of students in the geometry transformation course in terms of visualizer and verbalizer cognitive style, especially in the concept of mapping a transformation. The research subjects were students of the transformation geometry class at the Mathematics Education Study Program at the University of Madura. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the difficulties of students with cognitive visualizer and verbalizer styles tended to be the same, which included (1) difficulty visualizing the definition of a transformation (2) difficulty in proving a transformation (3) difficulty determining the result area of a mapping. The Visualizer subject answers all the questions given and tries to describe the definition of the transformation given, although it is still not precise, it is better than the subject verbalizer. Verbalizer subjects, who are essentially easier to process information in the form of writing, are constrained by the arrangement of mathematical sentences and mathematical symbols which make the subject reluctant to try to answer questions. From the results of the analysis it was also revealed that the causes of the subject's difficulties were influenced by several aspects, namely, lack of mastery of basic geometric concepts, weak of reasoning ability and difficulties in mathematical operationsKeywords: Student Difficulties, Transformation Geometry, Visualizer Verbalizer Cognitive Style

Abstract

Permasalahan yang terjadi di MTs. Ma’Arif Ambulu Jember yaitu media pembelajaran yang digunakan sangatlah minim, guru menunggu adanya media dari sekolah, pada pembelajaran sehari-hari guru terkadang menggunakan aplikasi Whatsapp untuk memberi materi berupa file pdf yang nantinya siswa akan diminta mempelajarinya secara mandiri. Penerapan Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan animaker bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pokok bahasan statistika dengan responden 30 siswa di MTs Ma’arif Ambulu. Pengumpulan data menggunaakan observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara, Peneliti menggunakan observasi aktivitas guru dan tes hasil belajar siswa sebagai analisis data. Peneliti juga memilih penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang menggunakan 2 siklus. Rata-rata hasil penelitian pada siklus I disebutkan presentase aktivitas guru sebesar 83.3% dan prsentase aktivitas siswa 65%. Kemudian pada siklus II presentase aktivitas guru sebesar 93,3% dan presentase aktivitas siswa sebesar 85%. Untuk presentase hasil tes belajar siswa pada siklus I sebesar 76,3% termasuk kriteria baik. Kemudian untuk siklus II presentase yang didapatkan sebesar 81,3% yang termasuk dalam kriteria baik. Abstract

Social arithmetic is a useful topic for mastering numeracy skills that are useful in solving real-world problems. However, students' difficulties in solving social arithmetic problems are still found. In addition, the limitations of available digital learning resources are also an obstacle for some teachers. This article aims to describe the process and results of developing digital mathematics teaching materials with the Book Creator applications to promotes students' understanding of concepts in social arithmetic. The development of this teaching material is based on the ADDIE model with the following stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Based on the conceptual understanding test on 6 subjects with various mathematical abilities, the average achievement result was 89%. The advantage of this teaching material is that it contains contextual problems that are in accordance with real-life situations, but on the other hand it is still necessary to develop more open-ended questions. This teaching material also contains questions for self-reflection to facilitate self-regulation in learning. For further development, teaching materials also need to be improved in terms of appearance, scope of lesson topics, and practicality in terms of collecting student written answer documents.

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa slow leraner pada materi relasi dan fungsi. Pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kualitatif deskrifitif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 2 siswa slow learner kelas VIII SMPN 1 Lebakwangi melalui teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes tertulis, wawancara dan observasi. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu (1) reduksi data, (2) penyajian data, (3) penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukaan bahwa dua subjek slow learner belum sepenuhnya memahami materi relasi dan fungsi. Dua subjek slow learner memenuhi indikator pemahaman matematis yaitu merefresentasikan konsep matematika kedalam bentuk diagram. Namun, belum memenuhi indikator pemahaman matematis lainnya, yaitu kemampuan menyatakan ulang materi yang telah dipelajari dan mengklasifikasikan objek-objek berdasarkan pengertiannya.Kata Kunci: Pemahaman, Slow learner, Relasi dan Fungsi Abstract:This study aims to analyze the ability of slow leraner students' mathematical understanding in the matter of relations and functions. The approach used is a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were 2 slow learner students of class VIII SMPN 1 Lebakwangi through a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by written tests, interviews and observations. The data analysis techniques used are (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation, (3) drawing conclusions. The results showed that the two slow learner subjects did not fully understand the material on relations and functions. Two slow learner subjects fulfill indicators of mathematical understanding, namely representing mathematical concepts in the form of diagrams. However, it does not meet other indicators of mathematical understanding, namely the ability to restate the material that has been studied and classify objects based on their understanding.Keywords: Understanding, Slow learner, Relations and Functions

Abstract

AbstrakUntuk mengetahui sikap siswa yang dilihat dari pemecahan masalah matematika, seorang guru bisa melihat kemampuan itu dengan memberikan soal-soal TPM dan angket yang di dukung dengan wawancara semi terbuka. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah Geometri dan Pengukuran siswa SMP berdasarkan sikapnya terhadap matematika. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah sequential explanatory mixed-methods. Populasi pendekatan kuantitatifnya seluruh siswa kelas 9 MTs Darul Ulum Banyunyar tahun ajaran 2022/2023 dan sampelnya 30 siswa. Dalam tahap ini, tugas pemecahan masalah dan angket sikap digunkan untuk pengumpulan data. Empat subjek pendekatan kualitatif dipilih berdasarkan hasil pendekatan kuantitatif, yaitu dua subjek bersikap positif dan berkemampuan tinggi dan dua lainnya bersikap negatif dan berkemampuan rendah. Kepada empat subjek ini dilakukan wawancara berbasis tugas. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa 1) Ada hubungan positif antara kemampuan pemecahan masalah Geometri dan Pengukuran siswa SMP dan sikapnya terhadap matematika; 2) Siswa bersikap positif terhadap matematika mampu dalam semua tahap penyelesaian masalah, sedangkan siswa dengan sikap negatif terhadap matematika hanya mampu dalam dua tahap pertama pemecahan masalah: Memahami masalah; Membuat rencana. Dan tidak mampu dalam dua tahap lainnya, yaitu melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian dan memeriksa kembali jawaban langkah demi langkah.Kata kunci: Pemecahan masalah, Sikap Siswa, matematika geometri

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of applying pop-up book media on student learning outcomes in class IV material at MI Al-Abrar, Makassar City. This research uses a type of experimental research with a Quasi Experimental Design research design. The sample for this research was class IV A with 34 students as the experimental class and class IV B with 26 students as the control class. This research uses descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Learning outcomes can be seen from the experimental class posttest results, which have an average of 80.29, which is very different from the control class posttest results with an average of 64.42. The results of this research hypothesis obtained tcount > ttable or 6.220 > 2.00172 and the sig (2-tailed) value obtained was 0.000 then 0.000 < 0.05 so it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. This means that there is an influence of the application of pop-up book media on student learning outcomes in material on flat figures for class IV students at MI Al-Abrar, Makassar City. Through the data obtained, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the application of pop-up book media on student learning outcomes in the material of flat shapes for class IV students at MI Al-Abrar, Makassar City. The influence of pop-up book media can also be seen from students' learning activities during the learning process. Observation results mean the percentage of student learning activities in the experimental class was 73%, while in the control class it was 49%. So it can be concluded that the activity of experimental class students in the learning process of applying pop-up book media is more active compared to control class students.
