Abstract

Since December 2019, the world has faced challenges of the Coronavirus-19 disease (COVID-19). It is a severe infectious disease caused by the new coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2. Objective: To examine psychological health problems among the elderly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This study was a review of the literature contained in the database of health journals, namely SpringerLink, Science Direct, ProQuest, and Pubmed. Selected papers based on free full text, open access, in English, and were published during 2020-2021. Results: They were 13 articles included in the review. Eleven (11) studies reported that the COVID-19 pandemic indicated psychological among the elderly group, such as increased symptoms of anxiety, depression, and feelings of loneliness. On the contrary, 2 studies showed lower anxiety, depression, and loneliness among the elderly, requiring further research evidence. Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic did psychological impact to the elderly. The results did not show uniform results. Therefore, further research is suggested.

Abstract

Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular parasite that can cause toxoplasmosis infection. About 60% of the world's population has been infected. Toxoplasma cerebri is one of the most common opportunistic infections in the central nervous system of HIV patients. The disease is acute and chronic, with mild symptoms that are non-specific so it is difficult to distinguish from other diseases or is often asymptomatic. The incidence of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) occupies the highest place in Asia with high morbidity and mortality. Toxoplasma is ranked in the top 10 opportunistic diseases as a direct cause of morbidity and mortality, with variable symptoms and reactivation. The purpose of the study: to detect Toxoplasma gondii from blood samples of patients with HIV/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). In immunocompromised conditions, especially HIV/AIDS, symptoms of severe complications will arise, one of which is toxsoplasma encephalitis (TE). The high rate of morbidity and mortality of TE in HIV/AIDS patients, around 30-40%, makes an accurate diagnosis important. Research Methods: The study design used was cross sectional to determine the level of IgG Toxoplasma Gondii antibodies in HIV patients and serologically. The research subjects were 30 individual subjects who were positive for HIV infection, of which 30 patients would be screened for the levels of IgG Toxoplasma Gondii antibodies and then see the correlation with lifestyle and food consumed. The achievement target of this research is to find out whether HIV patients have levels of IgG Toxoplasma Gondii antibodies through serological tests, so that appropriate therapy and education can be given for the treatment of toxoplasmosis, so that these results can be published scientifically in national journals, and become paper material in scientific meetings.

Abstract

Breastfeeding and maternal mental health in the perinatal period are two important issues in public health. Breastfeeding is the most ideal way to feed babies and has positive short and long term impacts for both mothers and babies. Breastfeeding is a natural process, but many mothers experience problems and feel pressured by breastfeeding. Mothers who had high levels of anxiety and/or depression (high scores on psychometric tests that detect mental health disorders) before or during pregnancy or after delivery had more difficulties with breastfeeding than others. The aim of this study was to synthesize the results of current research on the relationship between perinatal mental health and breastfeeding outcomes. This study uses the literature review method. Literature searches used Pubmed, Tandfoline, Science Direct, and Google Scholar in 2018 – 2022. Articles were screened independently by researchers using the PRISMA method. Based on the 11 articles analyzed, it was shown that most of the longitudinal studies showed a relationship between perinatal mental health and breastfeeding outcomes. Other longitudinal studies also explain the existence of a two-way causality relationship between perinatal mental health and breastfeeding outcomes variables. Perinatal mental health influences practice and continuity of breastfeeding. Conversely, the practice and continuity of breastfeeding also affects the mental health of mothers after giving birth.

Method: In this study the method used was a systematic literature review study using a systematic flow based on PRISMA. Searches were performed on 8 databases published 2020 - 2022 with predefined keywords and search restrictions. Results: This literature review obtained 865 publications through Elsevier, Science Direct, ProQuest, Google Scholar, PubMed and Scopus. A total of 13 articles were obtained that were suitable for analysis related to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on toddler nutrition. The methods used in this study are cohort, modeling, cross sectional and descriptive. There are 13 study themes related to impact and factors related to the nutritional status of toddlers during the Covid-19 pandemic.
