Abstract

This study aims to analyze the profit sharing system in cooperation between workers in oil palm plantations and plantation owners, taking into account the perspective of Islamic economics. The research method used is field research that uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Production sharing cooperation agreements between labor and oil palm plantation owners are common practices that regulate work relationships and the distribution of production results. Production sharing cooperation agreements are a common practice that regulates labor relations and the distribution of production results in the palm oil industry in Sei Kepayang. The agreement is an agreement between the landowner and the land manager. Where the land manager provides halan and equipment while the land manager works on the land that is entrusted properly. In this case, the landowner is responsible for bearing losses if there is damaged equipment and other mistakes that are not caused by the negligence of the land manager. The weakness in the profit-sharing system in Sei Kepayang Sub-district is that there is no recording in the profit-sharing cooperation carried out. All agreements are only carried out in the form of a written agreement, namely an agreement in the mouth or only verbally, so that the agreement has weaknesses in terms of legal force. In the implementation of cooperation between migrant workers and plantation owners in Sei Kepayang, the view of Islamic economics refers to the main principles contained in Islamic law, namely the principle of balance, the principle of divinity, the principle of morals, and the principle of balance. This aims to ensure that this cooperation aims to improve the level of welfare for all parties involved, and not only to obtain large profits.

Abstract

The national economy includes increasing output and productivity, government spending policies, infrastructure development initiatives, and cooperation with other countries. In Indonesia, economic growth and technological advances result from the government and community collaboration in building smart cities. A critical dimension of a Smart City is a Smart Economy and Smart Living, which aim to improve city performance, create innovation, encourage e-commerce, and ensure the feasibility of people's living standards. This study aims to examine the impact of the Smart Economy on Smart Living in Indonesia, with a particular focus on the mediating role of national economic performance. The methodology used is quantitative, with statistical analysis of Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using the Smart PLS 4 application. The population of this study includes smart cities in Indonesia, and purposive sampling techniques were applied to select relevant samples. This research examines the main dimensions of a Smart City, namely Smart Economy and Smart Living, and their related indicators. The study results show that the Smart Economy positively and significantly influences Smart Living in Indonesia. Moreover, national economic performance also plays a positive and significant mediating role in this relationship. However, the variance accounted for (VAF) test shows that only 16% of the total effects of Smart Economy on Smart Living are mediated by national economic performance, indicating that while this mediation relationship is statistically significant, the mediation effect is weak. This research provides insight into the relationship between economic performance and quality of life in the context of smart-city initiatives

Abstract

This study focuses on the seaweed sector and women's economic empowerment while providing an outline of the Blue Economy idea and its current situation in Lancang island, Kepulauan Seribu, Indonesia. The Blue Economy is gaining popularity as a way to protect marine ecosystems while assuring nation’s economic success and encourages the sustainable use of ocean resources. Indonesia, the biggest archipelago in the world, has a considerable blue economy potential. This research underlines the significance of striking a balance between economic expansion, the preservation of marine biodiversity, and the welfare of coastal communities. It emphasizes the responsibilities played by women in the seaweed sector and their restricted access to financial institutions.  Furthermore, the study underlines the importance of additional research to improve long-term economic resilience by empowering women in the seaweed sector, contribute to long-term community development, and promoting financial inclusion. Though vital, seaweed women face several obstacles, including inadequate financial services and decision-making power. These constraints must be overcome to maximize the blue economy development. To conclude, financial inclusion, especially through cooperatives and digital financial services, is key to closing this gap. Indonesia and other nations can maximize the blue economy's potential while promoting sustainable development and empowerment by prioritizing financial inclusion
