Abstract

The ability of higher education institutions to utilize digital technologies is increasingly important in responding to the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Universities are now expected not only to adapt to rapid technological shifts but also to innovate so that learning remains aligned with the evolving needs of the workforce. The degree to which technology is used to strengthen educational services, support strategic goals, and improve operational efficiency significantly affects overall institutional performance. Because of this, universities require a clear and sustainable digital strategy, as strong digital leadership can accelerate transformation and enhance institutional competitiveness. This study adopts a qualitative approach, beginning with identifying the research focus and selecting informants who possess relevant knowledge of the issues examined. Data were collected through interviews and documentation, then analyzed systematically and continuously to identify emerging themes. The credibility of the findings was strengthened using triangulation, which involved comparing data from different sources, methods, and times. The results show that digital leadership practices in both institutions are still in the developmental stage and not yet fully optimized. To strengthen digital leadership, this study recommends integrating transformational leadership principles, encouraging disruptive innovation, improving digital literacy, and establishing a Digital Transformation Office supported by internal policies that promote wider technology adoption.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of profitability (ROA) and leverage (DER) on firm value (Tobin's Q), with firm size and growth capacity as moderating variables in property companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2020–2024 period. The research method uses a quantitative approach with WarpPLS analysis techniques. The results show that ROA has a positive but insignificant effect on firm value, while DER has a positive and significant effect. Firm size and growth capacity are unable to moderate the relationship between profitability and leverage on firm value. These findings confirm that financing decisions through leverage are a dominant factor in increasing firm value, and support Signaling Theory and Pecking Order Theory regarding the importance of capital structure and financial information for investors.

Abstract

The growing participation of university students in both stock investment and online gambling raises concerns regarding how psychological factors shape financial decision-making. This study aims to examine and compare the effects of risk perception, risk tolerance, and return expectation on students’ investment decisions by distinguishing between students who invest exclusively in stocks and those who invest in stocks while engaging in online gambling. A quantitative research design was employed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) to assess the structural relationships among the variables, complemented by independent samples t-tests to evaluate intergroup differences at the indicator level. The findings indicate that return expectation, risk perception, and risk tolerance all exert positive and significant effects on investment decisions, with return expectation emerging as the strongest predictor. However, comparative results reveal that most indicators do not differ significantly between the two groups, except for specific risk perception indicators, suggesting lower risk perception among students involved in online gambling. These results support Prospect Theory, Dual Process Theory, and Cognitive Distortion models by highlighting the role of cognitive biases and risk underestimation in gambling-related behavior. In conclusion, the study underscores the importance of financial literacy programs that emphasize accurate risk perception and cognitive debiasing strategies to mitigate students’ vulnerability to speculative and gambling-related behaviors.

Abstract

This study examines the factors influencing bankruptcy risk among transportation companies after Covid-19 listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2017–2024 using the Grover model. The model serves as an early warning system by integrating financial ratios relevant to the transportation sector, including Total Asset Turnover, Current Ratio, and Debt-to-Equity Ratio. Secondary data were obtained from official financial reports published on the IDX website and company websites. The research employs purposive sampling, resulting in nine companies as the sample, and applies Panel Data Regression Analysis. Analytical procedures include descriptive and verification analysis, model selection, classical assumption testing, coefficient of determination, and hypothesis testing using t-tests and F-tests, processed with EViews 13. The descriptive results indicate significant fluctuations in TATO, CR, DER, and G-Score values during the study period. Empirical findings reveal that TATO has no significant effect on bankruptcy risk, CR has a significant negative effect, and DER has a significant positive effect on bankruptcy risk based on the Grover model. These findings highlight the importance of liquidity and leverage management in mitigating financial distress within the transportation sector.

Abstract

Visual merchandising is an essential component of modern retail, as it shapes consumer perceptions and influences the shopping experience through attractive, informative, and well-structured visual elements. Its effectiveness plays a key role in building store image, improving navigation, and encouraging purchasing behavior. Based on this importance, the present study aims to analyze the implementation of visual merchandising strategies at Alfamart Bungah, Gresik, focusing on three main elements: window displays, floor merchandising, and promotional signage. This research employs a qualitative case study approach through in-depth interviews with store managers, employees, and consumers, supported by direct observation and documentation. The findings indicate that although Alfamart Bungah follows standard corporate guidelines, the visual merchandising practices are not yet effective in capturing consumer attention or facilitating navigation. The window displays appear simple and less attractive, the floor merchandising area is crowded and lacks category boards, and promotional signage is less communicative due to suboptimal placement and irregular updates. Consumers perceive the store as neat and clean but expect more engaging and informative visual arrangements. This study concludes that improvements in visual design, layout optimization, and signage quality are needed to enhance store image and strengthen the overall customer shopping experience.

Abstract

Research on purchase intention in the digital era shows inconsistent findings regarding the impact of celebrity endorsement, with some studies highlighting its influence while others emphasize the stronger role of psychological factors. This study aims to examine the effect of celebrity endorsement on purchase intention by positioning emotional attachment and customer engagement as mediating variables. A quantitative approach was used with 200 followers of Somethinc’s official social media account as respondents. Data were analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 3.0. The results reveal that celebrity endorsement has a significant positive influence on purchase intention. Furthermore, celebrity endorsement enhances emotional attachment and customer engagement, both of which strengthen consumers’ intention to purchase. Mediation analyses confirm that emotional attachment and customer engagement play important roles in bridging the relationship between celebrity endorsement and purchase intention. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that celebrity endorsement is most effective when supported by strategies that foster emotional closeness and active engagement, offering valuable insights for digital marketing practices in the skincare and cosmetics industry.

Abstract

Sustainable career development in college students requires an understanding of the psychological, cognitive, and experiential factors that influence it. This study aims to analyze the influence of Locus of Control, career motivation, human resource knowledge, internship experience, and self-efficacy on sustainable careers, including the moderating and mediating roles between variables. The research method used a quantitative approach with SEM-PLS analysis on respondents from human resource management study programs. The results showed that Locus of Control and career motivation had a positive effect on self-efficacy, while human resource knowledge and internship experience had no effect. Internship experience moderated the influence of career motivation and human resource knowledge on self-efficacy, but did not moderate the influence of Locus of Control or self-efficacy on sustainable careers. In addition, human resource knowledge, self-efficacy, and internship experience had a positive effect on sustainable careers, while Locus of Control and career motivation had no effect. Self-efficacy only mediated the relationship between career motivation and sustainable careers. Overall, the study concluded that sustainable career development is more determined by actual experience and self-confidence than dispositional and motivational characteristics.
