This study explores how Erika Johansen’s novel The Queen of The Tearling (2014) conveys hidden meanings through a semiotic approach. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this study applies Charles Sanders Peirce’s theory—which includes icons, indices, and symbols—to understand how various signs in the novel form deeper messages. This analysis finds that Kelsea Glyn is not just a main character, but also symbolizes resistance against injustice. Her journey reflects the struggle of a young leader in facing tough challenges, while the Tearling Kingdom depicts an oppressed world, full of inequality and social conflict. The sapphire that Kelsea inherits is not only a magical artifact, but also a symbol of wisdom and the great responsibility she must bear. More than just story elements, these signs form a sharp social critique of power and injustice. Using a semiotic approach, this study reveals how the novel speaks to readers about courage, sacrifice, and the struggle for change, showing that its meaning is much deeper than it appears on the surface.

This study aims to identify and analyze effective stress-coping strategies in dealing with work problems through the literature review method. This study reviews previous studies involving several professional subjects who face stressful workplace situations. The findings show that coping strategies can be grouped into two categories: problem-focused coping, proven effective when individuals have control over stressful situations and can take direct action to solve problems, such as problem-solving planning and seeking social support. Emotion-focused coping, which includes accepting responsibility and positive reappraisal, is more appropriate when control over the situation is limited, helping individuals manage emotions and remain productive. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of a multidimensional coping approach tailored to the work context and individual characteristics. Implementing several coping strategies, adequate social support, and organizational understanding of employee coping needs can improve well-being and productivity in the workplace. This study recommends developing a comprehensive and integrative stress-coping program to support employees facing several challenges.

This study aims to determine the differences in cyberloafing between male and female employees at PT. Ira Jaya Satria. The problem is focused on one of the individual factors of cyberloafing, namely gender. The cyberloafing scale in this study was measured based on aspects of cyberloafing, namely; minor cyberloafing, and serious cyberloafing. The scale above uses a Likert scale with 4 answer choices. The sample in this study amounted to 63 people. Data were collected through a sampling technique using a total sampling technique and analyzed quantitatively. This study concludes that based on the results of the T-test Analysis calculation, it is known that there are differences in cyberloafing in terms of gender. This result is known by looking at the value or coefficient of difference with a coefficient of T = 8.646 with p = 0.000 <0.050. Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) is an increasingly relevant psychological phenomenon for high school students due to the increasing use of social media and social pressure to stay connected. This study aims to investigate the variation of FoMO levels in Saraswati 1 Denpasar High School students by considering demographic factors such as gender, age, and class. Using a cross-sectional descriptive quantitative design, data were collected from 236 students through a FoMO Scale-based questionnaire by Przybylski et al. (2013). The results showed that 40.7% of the students experienced FoMO at a moderate level, with no statistical analysis finding any significant differences based on sex (p = 0.364), age (p = 0.643), or class (p = 0.174). These findings indicate that demographic factors may not be the main factor influencing FoMO levels in this population. This study highlights the need for further exploration of the psychosocial factors that contribute to FoMO, including the influence of social media, peer pressure, and students' emotional regulation. In addition, future research may explore school-based intervention strategies to reduce the impact of FoMO on mental health, such as digital literacy programs and psychological support to improve students' emotional well-being. As such, these findings could provide insights for schools and mental health practitioners in designing more effective approaches to help students manage FoMO and its impacts.

This article reviews the debate and impact of Halle Bailey's selection as Ariel in the live-action film "The Little Mermaid" (2023) on racial representation and inclusivity in the Hollywood film industry. Motivated by the growing attention to the representation of minority groups in mass media, this analysis explores the hegemony of white culture and the way racial representation is manifested in film production. Based on Antonio Gramsci's theory of hegemony and the concept of representation, this study explores the public response to Bailey's casting, as well as its impact on traditional narratives and attempts to deconstruct existing power structures. Through an approach to cultural studies and racial-critical theory, this article aims to provide a deeper understanding of the dynamics of power and representation in mass media and highlight steps towards a more inclusive and equitable film industry. In conclusion, the selection of Halle Bailey as Ariel not only marks an important step in stimulating discussion about diversity in popular culture, but also a concrete step towards a more inclusive and representative film industry.

This study analyzes the influence of Sales Staff Work Ability and Sales Staff Service Quality on Guest Satisfaction in a hotel. The interaction between sales staff and guests plays a crucial role in shaping the customer experience. Therefore, this study identifies the most influential factors in increasing guest satisfaction. The approach used is quantitative descriptive and causal with purposive sampling, involving guests who interacted with sales staff in the past month. Data were collected through standardized questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that both independent variables had a significant effect on guest satisfaction, with Sales Staff Service Quality providing a greater contribution. The regression equation obtained: Y = 6.181 + 0.090X1 + 0.705X2. The main factors that increase guest satisfaction are responsiveness, friendliness, professionalism, and attention to customer needs rather than simply product mastery. Limitations of the study include the limited scope of one hotel and the failure to consider other external factors that may affect guest satisfaction, such as price or hotel atmosphere. Further research is recommended to explore additional factors and expand the scope of locations in order to obtain more generalizable results.

A hedonistic lifestyle is a social phenomenon that is increasingly prevalent among students, characterized by consumption patterns that are more oriented towards pleasure than long-term needs. This consumptive behavior can affect students' financial management, especially if it is not balanced with adequate financial literacy. This study aims to analyze the influence of hedonistic lifestyles and income levels on students' financial management behavior. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method of 100 students selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that measures three main variables, namely hedonistic lifestyle, income level, and financial management behavior, with a Likert scale. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 26 software. The results showed that a hedonistic lifestyle has a negative and significant effect on students' financial management behavior, while income level has a positive but insignificant effect. This indicates that although students with higher incomes have more financial resources, they do not necessarily have better financial management skills. These findings emphasize the importance of financial literacy in managing income and reducing the negative impacts of a consumptive lifestyle. This study provides implications for educational institutions to improve financial literacy programs to help students manage their finances wisely. In addition, the results of this study can be a reference for students to be more aware of the impact of lifestyle on their financial condition in the future.

This article aims to analyze the financial management strategies implemented at Kost Gabriela to achieve operational efficiency and tenant satisfaction. This study focuses on operational cost management, cash flow control, and competitive rental pricing. Data were collected through interviews with boarding house owners and tenants, as well as direct observation for three months. The analysis was conducted qualitatively to identify patterns in financial management strategies. The results showed that controlling operational costs, including facility maintenance, efficient energy use, and cooperation with local partners, successfully increased efficiency without reducing service quality. Competitive pricing strategies also contributed to tenant satisfaction levels. However, inadequate internet access is a major challenge, reducing tenant comfort and potentially affecting the competitiveness of boarding houses amid the increasing need for stable internet connections. Overall, this study confirms that effective financial management strategies can create a balance between cost efficiency and customer satisfaction, which ultimately supports the sustainability of Kost Gabriela's business. Improvements in internet infrastructure are recommended to increase competitiveness and maintain tenant loyalty.

This article aims to analyze the management of bank loans at Superman Gold Store and its impact on the financial performance of the business. This study focuses on how the use of bank loans can improve the operational capacity and profitability of the store amidst the challenges of gold price fluctuations and interest expenses. This study is based on the theory of financial management and operational strategy. The research methods used include interviews with store managers and analysis of financial statements, which are analyzed qualitatively to evaluate the impact of loans on key financial indicators. The results of the study indicate that bank loans contribute positively to an increase in net income by 40% and net profit by 50%. In addition, the store's liquidity ratio increased from 1.2 to 1.8, although the solvency ratio also increased from 0.4 to 0.6. The main obstacles in managing loans are gold price fluctuations and high interest expenses. To overcome these challenges, the store implemented mitigation strategies such as strict cash flow management, installment payment priorities, and active monitoring of market prices. However, the effectiveness of these strategies still requires further evaluation. This study has limitations in terms of time coverage and external factors that can affect the results. These findings provide insight for similar business actors in optimizing the use of bank loans to support business growth and financial stability.
