Abstract

HR's main challenge is how to build a performance culture, where employees can provide optimal performance. This study aims to determine the effect of compensation and organizational climate on organizational commitment and its influence on employee performance. One of the factors for good employee performance is high organizational commitment as well. Previous studies have suggested that compensation and organizational climate influence the organizational commitment. Also found that organizational commitment becomes one of the main factors that affect employee performance. This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires. The collected data is then processed using structure equational modelling with compensation and organizational climate as independent variables (X), employee performance as dependent variable (Y), and organizational commitment as intervening variables (Z). The findings showed that compensation and organizational climate has positive relationship with organizational commitment. This study also showed that only organizational climate, and organizational commitment has positive and significant relationship with employee performance because compensation has a negative significant relationship with employee performance.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of transformational leadership and its relationship with organizational climate, job satisfaction, and team performance. Here, the empirical study was conducted with a questionnaire applied to a sample of 170 team work leaders from Indonesian companies that are members of the retail store sector. The hypothesis was tested by Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the Lisrel program used in this study. The results showed that transformational leadership had a positive effect on job satisfaction and organizational climate on work teams. It was also found that job satisfaction has a positive influence on organizational climate, and the two constructs positively affect team performance. This study analyzes the strategic role of transformational leadership in organizational outcomes derived from teamwork to the extent that such leadership styles promote a positive organizational climate and a high level of employee satisfaction. Organizations can improve their performance through practices that promote this leadership style in their managers. This study extends the literature on transformational leadership by presenting empirical evidence on the relationship between leadership style, organizational climate, job satisfaction, and team performance in the specific context of an emerging economy such as Indonesia.

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to examine the effect of work engagement on employee performance through employee innovation as an intervening variable. 167 employees from the health and beauty retail industry in Indonesia were used as correspondent, while the WarpPLS 6.0 analysis showed that work engagement was positively related to employee innovation and performance. Other results also confirm that innovation mediates the relationship between work engagement and employee performance. Thus, the effect of performance engagement on employee performance is very good, not only by examining how work engagement affects employee performance, but also by revealing how this relationship depends on innovation.
