Abstract

Salah satu aspek yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan suatu perusahaan adalah dengan melihat prestasi kerja karyawan. Prestasi kerja dapat dilihat dari kualitas kerja seperti ketelitian, kerapian dan kedisiplinan karyawan melaksanakan tugas pekerjaan, selain itu tercapainya target merupakan suatu pretasi kerja. Dalam pelaksanaannya setiap karyawan memiliki beban kerja yang berbeda-beda. Jika kemampuan pekerja lebih rendah daripada tuntutan pekerjaan maka akan mucul kelelahan yang mengakibatkan stres kerja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh beban kerja terhadap stres kerja dan kinerja karyawan. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan adalah 75 karyawan (total sampling) di PT Indomarco Adi Prima Balikpapan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 31 orang (41,3%) memiliki beban kerja berat, 41 orang (54,5%) memiliki tingkat stres kerja sedang, dan 47 orang (62,7%) kinerjanya tidak baik. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa beban kerja berpengaruh terhadap stres kerja dan kinerja karyawan, dengan diperoleh nilah signifikansi p < 0,05 yaitu sebesar 0,000.

Abstract

Lamaru Urban Village is one of the villages where the majority of the population earns a living as a vegetable farmer. to increase agricultural output farmers always use chemical pesticides to reduce pest attacks. Pesticides contain harmful chemicals. The use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) can protect farmers when mixing and spraying pesticides. This study aims to determine the description of occupational safety and health in the use of pesticides in vegetable farmers in Kelurahan Lamaru, Balikpapan, based on personal protective equipment and how spraying works. In this study using quantitative methods with the technique of saturated sample/total sampling. The method of data collection in this study was carried out by observation using univariate analysis which contains the frequency distribution to describe personal protective equipment and how it works. In fulfilling PPE farmers can only use a few PPE hats, long-sleeved clothes and long pants so that this is incompatible with PPE fulfilment and work methods because farmers' low level of education causes a lack of knowledge about the dangers of pesticides and farmers are in direct contact with pesticides without using PPE complete to cause acute poisoning with local effects namely itching and dizziness when spraying and after spraying. The concludes study of this study is that there is a description of occupational safety and health in the use of pesticides in vegetable farmers in the Mentari Jaya Farmer Group based on personal protective equipment as much as 38% and how to work as much as 57%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of conformity and the cause of the mismatch of shipping safety implementation, namely the life-saving appliances speedboat Eastkal 01 at Astra Infra Port Eastkal PT Pelabuhan Penajam Banua Taka. This study uses a qualitative method with an observational approach that is to determine the level of conformity and the cause of the incompatibility of the application of shipping safety, namely life-saving appliances with reference to the standards used to assess life saving appliances in Eastkal 01 speedboat type of passenger ship or passenger ship determined based on SOLAS Consolidated Edition 2014, especially in part III about Life Saving Appliances and Arrangments The results of this study determine that the application of shipping safety on the Eastkal 01 speedboat at Astra Infra Eastkal Port PT Penajam Banua Taka Port based on Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) standards is very suitable for speedboats with a gross weight of 21 GT with a total number of passengers transported as many as 30 passengers in terms of Life Saving Appliances, namely personal life saving appliance, Visual Signal or Distress Flare, Survival Craft and Communication as well as in terms of maintenance and care for the LSA to better ensure the condition of the LSA good when used, which is done once a month and once a year for maintenance and care The results of this study determine that the application of shipping safety on the Eastkal 01 speedboat at Astra Infra Eastkal Port PT Penajam Banua Taka Port based on Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) standards is very suitable for speedboats with a gross weight of 21 GT with a total number of passengers transported as many as 30 passengers in terms of Life Saving Appliances, namely personal life saving appliance, Visual Signal or Distress Flare, Survival Craft and Communication as well as in terms of maintenance and care for the LSA to better ensure the condition of the LSA good when used, which is done once a month and once a year for maintenance and care. But in this study, some attributes are lacking in personal life-saving appliance, namely lifejacket light, one of the complement of lifejacket that has not been implemented and lifebuoy self-activating smoke signal for lifebuoy by regulations or Safety of Life at Sea Chapter III standards regarding life-saving appliances and arrangments and Life Saving Appliance Code in Chapter II and drill or emergency training is still not often done by Eastkal employees.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of potential hazards and safe work procedures in the confined space area of ​​the working of the oil and gas industry. The research method used was the application research method with a case study approach in the oil and gas industry in Balikpapan. The results showed that the potential danger in the room was limited by the danger of lack of oxygen, fire, poisoning explosion, irritation, static electricity, mechanical energy, extreme room temperature, dehydration, insufficient air circulation, slippery surfaces and ergonomic hazards. Safe working procedures in confined spaces were ensuring a safe working environment, use of PPE and work safety equipment, isolation of mechanical equipment, cleaning of gases and liquids, adequate air ventilation and adequate communication systems. The results of the study also recommended supporting the success of work in the confined space area to always be aware of the possibility of toxic gas, low oxygen concentrations and excess, the danger of work equipment and workers equipped with a gas tester.

Abstract

Sentra industri gamelan di Kabupaten Ponorogo belum menerapkan Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3). Hal ini dikarenakan minimnya pemahaman pemilik industri dan pekerja mengenai pentingnya penerapan K3 di tempat kerja. Oleh karena itu, penerapan K3 di IKM khususnya pada sentra industri Kabupaten Ponorogo harus efektif dan optimal untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan daya saing sentra industri. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu menilai penerapan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja dengan metode HAZOP dan WISE di Sentra Industri Gamelan Kabupaten Ponorogo. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan rancangan deskriptif analitik. Objek penelitian yaitu empat industri gamelan di sentra industri gamelan Kabupaten Ponorogo. Tahapan dalam penelitian ini yaitu identifikasi bahaya dan penilaian risiko di sentra industri menggunakan metode HAZOP serta penilaian penerapan K3 menggunakan metode WISE. Hasil identifikasi bahaya dan penilaian risiko menggunakan HAZOP worksheet menunjukkan sebanyak 60 % faktor bahaya di sentra industri gamelan Kabupaten Ponorogo memperoleh skor risiko pada level tinggi. Hasil observasi WISE checklist menunjukkan usulan tindakan perbaikan sangat dibutuhkan dengan persentase pada masing-masing industri yaitu industri A sebanyak 55,17 %, industri B sebanyak 50 %, industri C sebanyak 51,72 %, dan industri D sebanyak 56,90 %. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diketahui bahwa penerapan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja di sentra industri gamelan Kabupaten Ponorogo masih sangat rendah dengan persentase pada masing-masing industri yaitu industri A sebesar 6,9 %, industri B sebesar 12,07 %, industri C sebesar 10,34 %, dan industri D sebesar 6,9 %.

Abstract

Eye fatigue in computer users can occur because it works by seeing and reading near in a long time. Such conditions can decrease accuracy and alertness. Also can reduce the health condition of workers can even cause accidents work. Therefore, this research is done to know the complaints of fatigue on workers computer users in the Travel company in Kolaka Raya. This research is quantitative research with cross-sectional study design. This research sample is 30 computer users in the Travel company in Kolaka Raya. Data retrieval is performed by spreading questionnaires and measuring visibility between eyes and computer screen. Univariate is done using a proportion value to explain the description of eye fatigue complaints and relationships in computer users with eye fatigue, bivariate analysis is performed with a Chi-square test (X2) with a 10% significance rate. The results showed that 22 respondents or 73.3% had eye fatigue complaints. The most complaints that are in the natural worker are headaches as much as (53.3%). Based on the results of a statistical test it is known that variables associated with eye fatigue complaints are variable duration work (P-value = 0.03). To reduce the risk of eye fatigue complaints on computer users in suggesting the need to do maintenance and maintenance to the quality of lighting and cleaning of the lamp periodically for 6 months. There is a need to socialize with the right resting time so as not to use the rest time to use the computer.

Abstract

Sidewalks are made to provide convenience for pedestrians to be able to access public roads while also protecting from the dangers of passing vehicles (accidents). But now, most of the sidewalks have changed their main function. In some corners of the city of Balikpapan, we can see a lot of sidewalks that are used by informal traders as a place to open their sales. For this reason, pedestrians must go down to the shoulder of the road to walk. The aim of the researcher to achieve this research is to find out the territorial behaviour of informal traders towards pedestrian safety. The research methodology used is a qualitative descriptive methodology with the main goal of making a picture or description of an application objectively The results showed that the impact of this behaviour on pedestrian safety in the form of defective functions of the sidewalk on the road, where there is only one side of the sidewalk that can be used because it is not used to sell. So pedestrians also try to cross to use sidewalk facilities on the other side that are not used to sell traders who have the risk of conflict between pedestrians and vehicles at the crossing point.

Abstract

One of the main causes of work accidents caused by humans is fatigue. Causes of fatigue can be influenced by sleep disturbance due to jet lag or work shifts. The role of the security officer is to increase the feeling of security for employees at work. Therefore the security officer is demanded to always be at the worksite at all times. PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam Balikpapan applies a shift system for security personnel consisting of the morning shift, afternoon shift and night shift. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of work shifts with work fatigue in security officers at PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam Balikpapan. This research method uses quantitative using the IFRC (Industrial Fatigue Research Committee) questionnaire. IFRC (Industrial Fatigue Research Committee) questionnaire totalling 30 questions consisting of 10 questions about weakening activities, 10 questions about weakening motivation and 10 questions about depicting physical fatigue Sample selection is taken in total sampling where the number of samples is equal to the total population with 30 samples or respondent. Data analysis uses the Spearman rank to connect variables, the results of statistical calculations show a significant relationship if the dependent variable with the independent variable with a value of p (p-value) <a (0.05). The analysis showed that the morning shift felt tired by 15 people and not tired by 15 people, the afternoon shift felt tired by 14 people and not tired by 16 people and the night shift by feeling tired by 6 people and not tired by 16 people. From the Spearman rank test results obtained 0.017 (p <0.05), it was concluded that there is a relationship between work shifts with work fatigue.

Abstract

The palm oil mill industry has many risks to occupational safety and health. There are still many work accidents that occur resulting in losses for the company. Therefore, it is necessary to do a risk analysis wit importance index that assesses risk by considering the frequency index and severity index. Risk assessment is carried out by experts namely mill manager, mill assistants, and foreman. Then the risk identification is done based on the cause and effect of the risk using the Bow Tie method. Risk assessment indicators use risk indicators from palm oil mills. From 54 risk indicators, there is 3 significant risk, namely, employees exposed to hot iron (stew operation), employees inhaled /exposed to chemicals (WTP operation), noise (engine room operation). And there are 2 high risks, namely employees exposed to steam to hot steam (stew operation), employees exposed to fire bursts (boiler operation). The causes of significant and high risks are leaking pipes, opening the stew doors when high pressure, stew doors are not tightly closed, employee negligence, employees do not obey work instructions, high air pressure, lack of noise absorbent, material, there are worn, engine parts. The impact of significant and high risk burns to the skin, material loss, shortness of breath, skin irritation, communication, disorders, damage to hearing. Control of significant and high risk using a complete PPE, providing evacuation tools.

Abstract

This research discusses the analysis of the consequences of gas dispersion, fire, and explosion at SPPBE PT Aroma Jaya Sejati. This study uses a semi-quantitative method that uses secondary company data and direct observation. The data is then analyzed using ALOHA software to determine the extent and impact of gas dispersion, fire, and explosion due to leakage of LPG storage tanks. The results of research in scenario A, scenario A propane dispersion yellow zone reaches a distance of 262 meters, with a propane concentration of 5,500 ppm, the orange zone of propane dispersion scenario A reaches a distance of 133 meters, with a propane concentration of 17,000 ppm. The red zone of propane dispersion reaches a distance of 89 meters, with a propane concentration of 33000 ppm. In scenario B, the yellow zone of propane dispersion reaches a distance of 72 meters with a propane concentration of 5500 ppm, the orange zone reaches a distance of 34 meters with a propane concentration of 17000 ppm, the red zone reaches a distance of 23 meters, with a propane concentration of 33,000 ppm. Meanwhile, jet fire scenario A, for 39 minutes with total burning propane of 46,085 kg with a maximum fuel rate of 3740 kg/minute. The maximum length of the flame reaches 37 meters. Scenario B, a jet fire occurs for 1 hour with total burning propane of 15,088 kg with a maximum fuel rate of 256 kg/minute. The maximum length of the flame reaches 10 meters. Conclusion of propane dispersion in scenario A and B, it is found that the safe distance for propane dispersion is after 262 meters, while the results of jet fire modelling with scenario A and scenario B show that the safe distance for jet fire is after 133 meters.
