Abstract

 Karue Ase's traditional rituals to the people in Labian Ira'ang have been performed for generations, but they are delivered orally from generation to generation and have never been documented and published. The purpose of this study is to document and describe the traditional rituals of Karue Ase in the Labian Ira'ang community. This study uses survey methods. Data collection uses in-depth interview sheets and field observations. Data analysis uses qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the people in Labian Ira'ang used plants, animals, and stones to perform Karue Ase rituals. The plants used are Piper betle L., Areca catechu L., Uncaria gambir (Hunter) Roxb., Nicotiana tabacum L., and Cocos nucifera L. Types of animals used among others Cervus unicolor, Pilsbryoconcha exilis, and Rasbora sp. The types of stones used are Panulung stone, Lanying stone, Kait stone, and Baram stone.

Abstract

The meta-analysis study for currently do not have the latest research on the SAVI learning model on student’s cognitive aspect in learning biology, especially about education level, region, and the dependent variable. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of apllication of the SAVI learning model on student’s cognitive aspects in Biology learning. The method used is meta-analysis, that is the analysis that present the results of publication scientific research in electronic journal nationally concern the influence of the SAVI learning model on student’s cognitive aspect. The sample used was 14 articles from 35 scientific articles published in accredited national journals, after filtering the articles. The instrument used is in the form of a category coding sheet for articles. The results showed that the overall results of SAVI learning model were able to improve the cognitive abilities of student in the experimental group with an effect size of 0.2246. Based on the education level at the elementary, junior, and senior high school levels with the effect size category, respectively obtained 0.2282, 0.1196, and 0.6162. Based on the region, the effect size in each region was obtained that is in Central Java 0.1389; East Java 0.2460; West Java 0.0394; Bali 0.3069; South Sumatra 0.0242, and 0.3057 in Southeast Sulawesi. Based on the research dependent variable with the results were obtained problem solving skill 0.0742; achievement 0.2916; critical thinking 0.1086; communication skill 0.0242; and reasoning ability 0.3057.

Abstract

This research is essential to empower the understanding of the concept of invertebrate material that is difficult to observe because its habitat is in seawater. This research aims to reveal the effectiveness of the Reading Concept Map Connection Discussion Evaluation (RCCDE) learning model on students' conceptual understanding of Seawater Invertebrates. This type of research is a quasi-experimental, one-group pre-test and post-test design. The research data were analyzed using the N-gain score. The analysis results showed that the class average N-gain score was 0.71, which was greater than the N-gain score of 0.7 (g > 0.7). This means that the RCCDE model is effective for students in understanding the concept of seawater invertebrates because it has high criteria. The individual average normalized gain analysis results found 20 students with a high standard of g > 0.7 and 14 students with a gain score of 0.3 > g 0.7. On the medium criterion, there were no students with a score of g 0.3. This shows the effectiveness of the RCCDE syntax in empowering concept understanding. Students play an active role in learning activities to find their problems and look for answers until they find answers and solutions.

Abstract

The Bodogol Education and Nature Conservation Center (PPKA) area is a representative area for lowland mountain tropical forest ecosystems on the island of Java so that the biodiversity in this area is quite high. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of lichens found in the Rasamala and Cikaweni lines of PPKA Bodogol, Sukabumi, West Java. Biodiversity research is important because of the presence of lichens as part of biodiversity that is beneficial to the ecosystem.  The research method used is descriptive with exploratory techniques. Determination of trees that contain lichens is done by using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that in both pathways, lichens with crustose talus type dominated. On the Rasamala Line, 7 types of lichens were found, while on the Cikaweni Line, 5 types of lichens were found. The species diversity (H') of lichens in the Rasamala pathway was 1.51 while in the Cikaweni route it was 1.18. So based on the Shannon-Wienner formula, the biodiversity in the Rasamala and Cikaweni trails is in the medium category.

Abstract

21st Century provides many challenges, especially for the world of education. Students are expected to acquire several skills that can support their lives in order to compete in the future. One important skill is creative thinking skills. Creative thinking skills are a way of thinking based on information to find solutions to a problem that is emphasized on the quantity, appropriateness and diversity of answers. Some observations show the low creative thinking skills of students because the empowerment of creative thinking skills is still lacking in learning in Indonesia. One solution that can be done in improving creative thinking skills is to choose the right learning model in this case the researcher uses the ERCoRe learning model. This study aims to look at the effect of the ERCoRe learning model on students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is quasi-experimental. Analysis of the data used is covariance analysis. Conclusions based on the results of the analysis there is an effect of 52,006 on the ERCoRe learning model while the conventional learning model is only 43,515 on students' critical thinking skills compared to conventional strategies.

Abstract

South Sorong, West Papua, is one of the areas that produce rebon shrimp. Rebon shrimp can be made into fermented products such as rebon shrimp paste (terasi) or acidic rebon shrimp paste (cincalok). Terasi is a food additive that functions as a seasoning or flavoring, while cincalok is a fermented food added with salt and rice. The objective of this study was to determine the contamination of E. coli and Salmonella in fermented rebon shrimp products. This study was a descriptive study by describing the presence or absence of contamination by E. coli and Salmonella sp. on rebon shrimp paste (terasi) and acidic rebon shrimp paste (cincalok). The study concluded that the samples of rebon shrimp paste (terasi) and acidic rebon shrimp paste (cincalok) in South Sorong were safe from contamination by Escherichia coli and Salmonella sp. According to the Indonesian National Standards Agency, fermented fish products with or without salt, good and suitable products for consumption are those that are negative for Salmonella, V. cholera, Escherichia coli with a limit of <3 MPN/g and Staphylococcus aureus should be <1 x103 colonies/g.

Abstract

Creative thinking skills are one of the 21st century skills that must be possessed by biology pre-service teachers. Someone with good creative thinking skills can more easily convey ideas, solve problems, and always think differently than usual. The aim of this study is to know how the relationship between creative thinking skills to STEAM rediness. This research is correlational quantitative research. The sampling technique used in this research is the quota sampling technique. The number of students used as a sample is 90 people with each batch consist of 30 samples. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire, both to measure creative thinking skills and STEAM readiness. Data analysis techniques using Spearman rank correlation. The data shows the strong correlation between creative thinking skill and STEAM readiness with correlation coefficient value 0,622. The aspects of creative thinking skill are potential to make pre-service teacher more prepared to STEAM implementation at school. The better the creative thinking skills of biology pre-service teacher, the more prepared they will be in implementing STEAM later.

Abstract

The provision of variations in the use of media equipped with methods in learning is carried out in order to attract students in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic which aims to find out the influence of the use of video learning media equipped with crossword puzzle type Student Worksheets (LKPD), on learning outcomes during the Covid-19 pandemic; This type of research is experimental research, using a mixed methods approach with the concurrent triangulation design method. The results showed that: (1) there was a positive influence on the use of video learning media equipped with crossword puzzle type Student Worksheets on learning outcomes, shown from the results of the hypothesis test, namely 0.000 or Sig values. < 0.05; (2) there are differences in student learning outcomes between the use of power point learning media (PPT) and video learning media equipped with crossword puzzle type LKPD, shown by the average posttest of the control class 56.56 and the posttest of the experimental class 82.76. It can be concluded that the use of video media equipped with crossword puzzle type LKPD has a positive influence on learning outcomes on human circulatory system material during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

One of the plant families that are widely used as medicinal plants is Zingiberaceae. This study aims to determine the use of Zingiberaceae as traditional medicine. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with an ethical and emic approach. There are 7 families of Zingiberaceae that are used by the Dayak Jangkang tribe, namely bongah (Curcuma domesticaValeton), bongah raya hitam (Curcuma aeruginosa Roxb), bongah raya kunyit (Curcuma amada Roxb), bongah raya putih (Curcuma zedoaria Roxb), longkas (Alpinia galangal (L.) Willd), loyak joronang (Zingiberofficinale Roscoe), tabau (Kaempferia galanga L). The part used as medicine is the rhizome. Simple processing methods include mashing, boiling, drinking, mashing and smearing. The community of the Dayak Jangkang tribe uses family plants Zingiberaceae for traditional medicine hereditary. Basically, the society knows the use as medicine without knowing the chemical composition of plants Zingiberaceae family, but the community believe that its use as medicine still has to match the dose in order to get cure a disease.

Abstract

Several studies have been carried out related to fish smoking processing centers that have caused environmental problems, but none have linked the green ergonomics factor as a solution to these problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the influence of ergonomic factors on physical environmental conditions and processing efficiency at the Fish Smoking Center of Plaza Ikan Karangsari Tuban. This study used the PLS-SEM analysis technique to describe the relationship between the influence of green ergonomic factors on physical environmental conditions and processing efficiency. The data were analyzed using the SmartPLS technique to evaluate the measurement model and structural model. According to the data analysis, it was found that at Plaza Ikan Karangsari Tuban, the ergonomic factors do not have significant effect on processing efficiency with a statistical t value of 0.422. The ergonomic factors have a significant effect on the work environment with a t statistic of 5.305 and processing efficiency with a t statistic of 2.608. Thus, it can be concluded that the green ergonomic factors in the fish smoking center at Karangsari Tuban do not have significant effect on processing efficiency and have a significant effect on physical working environment conditions.
