Abstract

Khaerana K, Haiqal M. 2022. Advanced yield test of rice lines that are hopeful of tungro resistance. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang  27 Oktober 2022. pp. 704-711.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Tungro is one of the important diseases in rice plants. Tungro disease in Indonesia has infected crops on a large scale in the 1960s. This disease causes a decrease in crop production by up to 80%, it can even cause puso. Line testing is one of the stages of the long process of creating a variety. The advanced yield test is the final stage of testing a line before the multi-location test is carried out. The purpose of this study was to select tungro-resistant promising rice lines that have high yield potential. In this study, there were 9 test lines used, with the comparison variety Mekongga, which were designed using a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 3 replications. The results showed that the parameters of panicle number, panicle filled grain, panicle empty grain, and dry milled grain production were not significantly different between the comparison varieties and the nine lines tested. The comparison varieties showed that the plant height, weight of 1000 seeds and panicle length were significantly higher than the test lines. There were no test lines that showed better performance than the comparison variety, Mekongga.

Samosir P, Syafutri MI, Malahayati N, Aryani D, Airlangga T. 2022. Effect of type and concentration of anti browning agent on color of taro beneng (Xanthosoma undipes K. Koch) flour. In: Herlinda S. et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 991-999. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Taro beneng (Xanthosoma undipes K. Koch) is a local tuber commodity that has the potential to be processed into flour. One of the problems found in flour processing is browning. Enzyme inactivation using anti browning agent is one way to prevent browning. This study aimed to learn the effect of type and concentration of anti browning agent on color of taro beneng flour. This study used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design with two treatment factors, namely type of anti browning agent (sodium metabisulfite and ascorbic acid), and concentration of anti browning agent (500 ppm, 1000 ppm, 1500 ppm, 2000 ppm). The results showed that type of anti browning agent had significant effect on values of lightness, redness, yellowness, browning index, and the degree of whiteness of taro beneng flour, while concentration of the anti browning agent had significant effect on value of redness of beneng taro flour. The interaction between type and concentration of anti browning agent had no significant effect on all parameters. Lightness and degree of whiteness values of taro beneng flour with anti browning agent sodium metabisulfite were higher than taro beneng flour with ascorbic acid.

In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 651-659. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).This study aimed to determine effect of log closure techniques on the development of mycelium and effect various subtrate compositions, age of seedlings and cutting log on yield of oyster mushroom. The study was conducted for the 2020-2022 period at KP Kayuagung. The components of the substrate are mixed, put in PP plastic, pasteurized, inoculated, incubated and carried out harvesting two periode. The results showed that technique of closing narrow-mouthed logs causes slow growth of mycelium and even fails to grow. Various additional subtrate components did not significantly affect the yield, but the type of wood affected the timing of the first harvest. The first harvest time in this study ranged from 56 days to 229 days after inoculation. The fresh weight of the first harvest on average ranges from 47.4-138 g . The age of seedlings up to 3 months can still be used.. The log cutting technique can stimulate the formation of mushroom fruits with an average yield range of 32.8 to 46.5 g per log.

Ananda AP, Gustiar F, Ammar M, Susilawati S. 2022. The effect of fertilization methods on the growth of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) taruna varieties intercropping of chaya plants. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang  27 Oktober 2022. pp. 800-808.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Optimization of land through the use of intercropping between Chaya plants and chili plants using several fertilization methods is expected to increase the production of horticultural crops. This study aimed to determine the effect of intercropping patterns and fertilization methods on the growth of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) Taruna variety. The experimental design used was a Split Plot Design which consisted of 2 main plots, namely: Intercropping plot (T1), Monoculture plot (T2), with 4 subplots treated with fertilization method, and 3 replications. The four treatments of the fertilization method were: Bulk (P1), Broadcasting (P2), Spot placement (P3), Spray (P4). The data obtained from the observations and measurements will be analyzed using variance and regression tests. The results showed that the application of fertilization did not have a significant effect on the growth of cadet varieties of chili. The growth of chili plants in monoculture was better than the intercropping pattern on the parameters of the number of leaves, the level of greenness of the leaves, the diameter of the stem and the diameter of the crown, while the plant height and leaf thickness were better in the intercropping pattern.

Rouf AR, Munawaroh S, Moko HD.  2022. New superior varieties of dryland rice farming income at first dry season in Gorontalo Province. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 947-953. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).One of the production factors that is limiting the fulfillment of rice in Indonesia is limited irrigated rice fields. On the other hand, Indonesia has a fairly large dry land but its use still requires the application of technology. The Agency for Agricultural Research and Development through BB Padi since 2017 has disseminated upland rice technology known as Larikan Gogo Super (Largo Super). This research aimed to determine the productivity and income of new superior upland rice based on upland arrays. In this study, the technology studied is the upland rice technology package (Largo Super). The experimental design used was a randomized block design with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment of the study was upland rice varieties including Ponelo, Rindang 2, Inpago 8, Inpago 9, Inpago 11 and Inpago 12. The results of the study show that the upland array technology of Inpago 8 and 9 varieties has an RC Ratio value above 1, this means that the variety is feasible to cultivate because sales of upland rice can cover the costs of implementing upland rice array technology.

Population of Fruit Flies (Bactrocera spp.) Sampled Using Methyl Eugenol on Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 759-767. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Fruit flies are one of the pests on eggplant plants with a wide distribution, in high populations fruit fly attacks can potentially damage fruit up to 100%. This survey aimed to determine the population of fruit flies on eggplant plants, gender and what species are attracted to methyl eugenol. The method used in carrying out this survey is a sampling method using methyl eugenol modified with a bottle called the hanging bottle trap or attractant trap with a diagonal pattern, which was carried out in 3 replications in Palem Raya Village, Tanjung Pering Village, and Ulak Segelung Village, Indralaya District. North, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The results of the three replicate surveys showed that the population of fruit flies on eggplant plantations in Ulak Segelung Village was higher than in Tanjung Pering Village and Palem Raya Village. The number of fruit fly population sampling in the village of Palem Raya there are 1,426 fruit flies. The fruit fly population in Tanjung Pering Village are 1,276 fruit flies, and in Ulak Segelung Village there are 2,215 fruit flies. Based on the survey conducted, it showed that fruit flies attract to methyl eugenol were male fruit flies with the species Bactrocera dorsalis. There was a decrease in the population in each sampling replication that had been carried out in 3 villages in Ogan Ilir Regency. The conclusion of this survey, that using of methyl eugenol is very effective to determined the population of fruit flies on eggplant plants. The use of methyl eugenol could be used as an alternative material for controlling fruit flies.
